Chapter 484: Chapter 484: Prophecy
Everyone stood still. No one even dared to breathe.
……………
It was just a few years ago.
The same throne room. But it looked slightly different—less tense, more calm.
The seven Devils were there—Elisha, Crow, Scythe, Ashen, Veil, the Prophet, and HQ, who was still alive back then.
They stood in a circle around the Devil’s throne.
“We’ve destroyed five major survivor bases this month,” Ashen said proudly.
“Our pawns are getting stronger. More obedient,” Veil added softly.
“We will rule the world soon,” Crow said, his cloak rustling like feathers.
The Devil sat quietly, fingers tapping the side of the throne.
Suddenly…
The Prophet took a shaky breath. Then he dropped to his knees.
His eyes rolled back. His body trembled.
A faint glow began to shine from his eyes.
“What—what’s happening?” Elisha whispered, stepping back.
Scythe reached for his weapon.”Is this betrayal?”
“No,” the Devil said, not moving. “Wait.”
The Prophet’s lips moved silently, like he was whispering to something unseen.
Then…
His eyes flashed with blinding light.
The glow faded just as fast. The Prophet collapsed forward, gasping.
His face was pale. Sweat covered his skin.
He slowly looked up.
“I saw… a vision,” he said, voice shaking.
The Devils stared at him.
The Devil’s voice was calm but cold.”What did you see?”
The Prophet didn’t answer.
His lips trembled.
“I… I don’t dare say it, my Lord.”
The air turned deadly still.

The Devil rose from his throne.”I’m not asking twice. Tell me, or die.”
The Prophet trembled and bowed deeply.
“I-I saw… the end.”
The word hung in the air like a sword.
“Elaborate,” the Devil ordered, voice like thunder.
The Prophet swallowed hard.
“I saw… all of us. Dead. You, my Lord… and the seven Devils. Burned. Crushed. Gone.”
Elisha’s hands clenched.”No way.”
“That’s impossible,” Crow hissed.
But the Prophet didn’t stop.
“I heard a prophecy. Clearer than anything before. A new Light of the World has been born.”
The throne room shook slightly, like the walls themselves were scared.
“A Light?” Scythe asked, eyes narrowing.
“Yes,” the Prophet said. “A light that will destroy all of us. Including you, my Lord.”
The Devil tilted his head.”Interesting. And what else did this prophecy say?”
The Prophet took a deep breath.
“The Light of the World… will do what no one else could. They will first give shelter to the weak… then grow food. Real food. Not from cans. Not artificial. But food from the soil. From nature.”
Elisha’s eyes widened. “Wait… that sounds like…”
“Exactly,” the Prophet said, looking at her. “The one whom Jake’s lover might have given the so-called system.”
Whispers spread among the Devils.
“People will start believing again,” the Prophet continued. “They’ll think they can survive. They’ll follow her. She or he will rebuild the spirit of humanity.”
He took a shaky breath.
“And then… she will kill us.”
The Devil’s voice dropped lower.
“All of us?”
“Yes,” the Prophet whispered. “First, she or he will kill the seven Devils. One by one.”
He looked around the room, at all of them.
“Each of you.”
Scythe’s hand gripped his weapon tightly.
“she or he’s just a human.”
“No,” the Prophet said. “She or he is the Light. She or he’s not just a person. She or he is something more.”
Ashe or hen snorted.
“Even if she or he grows vegetables, she or he can’t fight us. We’ll crush her or him.”
But the Prophet’s voice shook even more now.
“You don’t understand. The prophecy says… she or he will also defeat the zombie virus. She or he’ll find a cure. she or he’ll save the infected.”
Silence.
“The zombies…?” Veil asked quietly.
The Prophet nodded.
Crow’s wings twitched. “That’s crazy talk,” he snapped. “No one can cure the virus. It’s been twenty years!”
“But she or he will,” the Prophet whispered, still on his knees.
“That’s what I saw. I saw the dead… coming back to life. Their eyes weren’t empty anymore. They cried. They hugged their families.”
Ashen laughed darkly. “What is this? A bedtime story? You hit your head, Prophet?”
“I didn’t!” the Prophet yelled suddenly.
“I didn’t make this up! I saw it with my own eyes! The vision was strong. Stronger than any I’ve ever had.”
Elisha stared at him, then looked at the Devil. “My Lord… do you believe this?”
The Devil didn’t answer right away. He slowly sat back on his throne, fingers tapping again. Tap… tap… tap…
Then he said, “If this Light truly exists… we must find them. And destroy them.”
“Agreed,” Scythe said. “Let’s kill them before they even grow a single carrot.”
“But how?” Veil whispered. “We don’t even know who they are.”
The Devil’s eyes glowed faintly. “We will watch. Listen. Follow every whisper.”
The Prophet’s head stayed low, his forehead touching the cold floor. But his voice came out clear.
“There’s… one more thing.”
Everyone turned toward him again. Even the Devil paused his tapping.
Elisha narrowed her eyes. “What thing?”
The Prophet lifted his head slowly. His eyes were still glowing faintly. “The power of the Light… it’s not normal. It’s not just planting vegetables or giving hope.”
Scythe snorted. “Then what is it?”
The Prophet looked around the room, at each Devil.
“She or he can… become someone else.”
“Huh?” Ashen frowned.
The Prophet nodded quickly. “Like—like a shapeshifter. But stronger. She or he can turn into someone close to you. A friend. A soldier. Even… a Devil.”
The room went quiet again.
Veil’s voice was barely above a whisper. “You mean… they can fool us?”
“Yes!” the Prophet cried. “She or he can get close to us. And we won’t even know!”
Crow’s wings twitched again, but he said nothing this time.
The Prophet kept going, voice rushing out like he was scared it’d vanish if he stopped. “And that’s not all! The Light of the World… she or he can travel. To other worlds. Other dimensions. Just like that!”
He snapped his fingers.
Elisha blinked. “That’s impossible.”
“No, it’s not,” the Prophet said. “She or he will use that to learn new skills. Gain power. Things we’ve never seen before.”
Ashen looked toward the Devil. “My Lord…?”
But the Devil said nothing. His red eyes just stared, deep in thought. Silent.
The Prophet’s hands trembled now. “And one day… she or he will start all the production again. Water. Electricity. Food. Medicine. Factories. Everything will return.”
“That’s ridiculous,” Scythe muttered.
But Veil spoke quietly, “If people start getting clean water again… and food… and hope…”
“They’ll stop fearing the unknown,” Crow finished the sentence, voice low.
“They’ll believe in her,” the Prophet whispered. “They’ll follow her anywhere. Even to their deaths.”
Elisha clenched her fists. “So we’re just gonna sit here? Wait for this ‘Light’ to show up and kill us?”
“No,” the Devil finally spoke.
Everyone froze.
The Devil’s voice was calm, but it echoed through the throne room like thunder.
“We will believe the Prophet.”
The Devils stared at him in shock.
“If what he says is true,” the Devil continued, “then this Light is the only threat we’ve ever truly had.”
“But how will we find her?” Veil asked again.
The Devil leaned back on his throne. “She will reveal herself. One way or another. Hope always shines brightest in the dark.”
………………………
Back to the present.
The Devil stared at Madam Queen,
“Only the Light of the World has the power to plant another soul into you… This is what the prophecy had said. And you said that you had run away from Boss Su.
This could only conclude one thing. The Light of the World we are trying to find is that Boss Su.”
Everyone stood still. No one even dared to breathe.
The Devil’s red eyes narrowed as he stared at Madam Queen.
Then, his voice rang out—cold, deep, and sharp like a blade.
“So… you still don’t want to come out?”
Everyone blinked.
Come out?
What was he talking about?
Then it clicked.
Gasps filled the throne room.
“He’s not talking to Madam Queen…” Ashen whispered.
“He’s talking to the one inside her,” Veil finished, her voice trembling.
Madam Queen’s eyes widened. Her hands clenched into fists as her heartbeat sped up.
The room felt colder.
“Don’t play games,” the Devil said, rising from his throne. “I know you’re in there. Come out.”
Madam Queen took a step back. “I-I don’t know what you’re talking ab—”
Suddenly, she froze.
Her hands flew to her neck.
“G-Gack—!”
Something invisible had grabbed her throat.
Her feet lifted off the ground.
She kicked and struggled in midair, her eyes wide with panic.
The Devils watched silently.
She clawed at her own neck, gasping for air.
But no one was touching her.
No one… except the one inside her.
The Devil’s voice boomed across the throne room.
“You’ve been hiding long enough. Show yourself. Or I’ll crush her windpipe.”
Madam Queen coughed, her lips turning purple. “S-Stop…!”
