Chapter 103: Times have changed
Thomas rushed towards Alex with a punch.
“Die! I’ll avenge my brother!”
With resentment in his heart, Thomas didn’t hold back.
His punches were swift and carried with them intense flames.
Even though Alex was wearing a battle suit, he dared not take them head-on.
He could only dodge and maneuver.
Alex sidestepped and blocked Thomas’s punch.
Then, he countered with a whip kick.
Although he hadn’t learned many martial arts techniques, his physical fitness was impressive!
However, his usually effective whip kick failed for the first time.
Thomas actually managed to block it!
“Hmph, resorting to dirty tactics!”
Thomas scoffed disdainfully.
Then, he aimed straight for Alex’s midsection with a kick.
Since Thomas could awaken abilities, he must have reached level ten, and his physical abilities wouldn’t be lacking.
His kick sent Alex retreating continuously.
Fortunately, Alex was wearing the battle suit, so it didn’t cause too much damage.
Alex patted the armor plate on his abdomen as if nothing had happened.
This action only fueled Thomas’s contempt.
“Huh, wearing a suit of armor, what kind of skill is that?”
Alex chuckled. “Don’t you wish you had one too?”
Thomas sneered.
“Even if you’re wearing a battle suit, I’ll still beat you down!”
Then, the two engaged in combat once again.
Thomas, with years of experience as a mercenary, was skilled in various forms of lethal combat, keeping Alex under tight control.
Thankfully, Alex was wearing the battle suit.
Otherwise, it would have been really dangerous.
Thomas found another opening and landed a punch on Alex’s chest.
Although his chest felt warm from the flames, Alex managed to retaliate with a kick.
They both stepped back, each gaining some advantage.

Alex was secretly alarmed.
He didn’t expect the flames in Thomas’s hands to be so hot.
Even the upgraded S-alloy battle suit couldn’t completely insulate against the heat.
Alex drew a military knife from his belt and gripped it tightly.
Thomas seemed confident of victory, adopting a combat stance and taunting once again, “What’s this? Can’t win, so you’re resorting to a knife now? Do you need me to handicap myself?”
Alex snorted.
“Quit the nonsense. Who will emerge victorious remains to be seen!”
Thomas grinned crookedly.
The flames in his hand surged as he charged forward.
Watching the military knife about to pierce his face, Thomas remained calm. He reached out his right hand and directly grabbed the blade.
Then, he shouted, “Ignite!”
The military knife instantly turned into a puddle of molten iron, dripping onto the ground.
Underneath the battle suit, Alex’s eyelids twitched.
What the hell?!
This temperature was outrageous.
Alex stepped back, throwing away the military knife, which was now just a handle.
Unconsciously, he had moved to the cockpit area.
The pilot of the helicopter was struggling to maintain control as the aircraft tilted due to the fight between Alex and Thomas.
Suddenly, he felt someone’s gaze on him.
Taking a quick glance, he saw it was Alex.
Then, in the next moment, his neck was snapped by Alex.
Before he died, there was only one thought in his mind.
“Damn it!”
You were fighting just fine, why did he have to come over and mess with me?!
It’s so damn unfair!
Of course, he didn’t have the chance to say these words.
Thomas, seeing this, was horrified. He pointed at Alex and cursed, “Are you out of your mind?! The pilot is dead, are you going to fly the helicopter?”
Alex shrugged.
“What does this have to do with you?”
Then, he smashed the control panel with a punch.
The aircraft lost control.
Thomas was furious, wanting to rush over, but the suddenly tilting aircraft nearly threw him out directly.
He could only grip his seat nervously.
“What’s the benefit for you in doing this? We’re all going to die if we crash from this height!”
However, Alex just grinned.
“Who told you I’m the one who’s going to die? The only one dying here is you.”
With that, Alex kicked through the windshield of the helicopter.
Stepping out of the cockpit with one foot, he turned and said, “Kid, you’re quite the fighter. I can’t beat you, so I’ll concede. But please, go die. Thanks, bye!”
Then, Alex took out a parachute from his backpack and leaped off.
Watching 10086 leave so gracefully, Thomas was beside himself with rage.
“10086, damn you!”
He never imagined he would die in such a humiliating way.
Just like his older brother.
He screamed and pounded, but it was futile.
The helicopter plummeted rapidly, and after a burst of flames, it exploded.
Thomas, deceased.
Alex landed directly.
After moving a bit away from the helicopter to ensure the parachute wouldn’t get caught in the rotor blades, he unhesitatingly opened the parachute.
His actions were actually quite risky.
Because the helicopter wasn’t flying at a high altitude, jumping out with a parachute like this still constituted a low-altitude jump, with insufficient cushioning.
Alex was gambling.
He was betting that the battle suit could withstand the impact.
He was betting that he wouldn’t be harmed by the recoil.
In short, he was gambling with his life.
But without this method to destroy the helicopter, the chance of success would be too slim.
I have to admit, Thomas can really fight.
Especially with that set of punches, almost had him pinned to the ground.
In the old world, Alex was just a laborer.
Despite being physically fit, when facing these ruthless mercenaries or skilled fighters, getting up close and personal really doesn’t give him any advantage.
Of course, against low-level survivors, he can handle them easily.
But when facing top-tier survivors like Thomas, his lack of combat skills is greatly magnified.
However, sir, times have changed.
In the helicopter, it was just too cramped for Alex to shoot.
He even worried about Thomas grabbing the gun and melting it directly.
That would be a big loss.
Otherwise, Alex would have shouted “hurrah” long ago and shot Thomas.
Alex quickly descended above the villa.
The descent speed was too fast, indeed quite dangerous.
Hooking his feet onto the rooftop railing did nothing to slow down the descent speed.
Instead, because the parachute began to shrink, it accelerated the fall.
Alex simply untied the parachute, reached out, and grabbed the wall, increasing the resistance frantically.
He imagined it like Tom the cat from the cartoons, scratching and climbing up easily.
However, Mr. Newton gave him a lesson.
Alex only paused in midair for a moment, then fell straight onto the fruits and vegetables in the yard.
Luckily, he saved his skin.
He crawled out from the pile of broken fruits and vegetables, shook his head.
Surviving a close call brings good fortune!
