Chapter 216: Live streaming
Many people noticed the announcement.
Among them, naturally, was Taylor.
He had been closely monitoring Alex’s every move.
When the announcement appeared, his eyes widened in disbelief, then reddened with fury.
He felt a crushing blow to his fragile ego. He was only level 35, while Alex had jumped to level 50.
The disparity was overwhelming and despairing.
“Hmph! So what if you’re the first to reach level 50? Let’s see who reaches level 60 first!” Taylor’s eyes gleamed with a crazed determination, though his hands trembled for reasons he couldn’t understand.
Meanwhile, Alex was preparing to head back to share his updates with Mia and Olivia. As expected, they were both thrilled.
At that moment, Mia suddenly noticed something and alerted, “Alex, look! Someone uploaded a video of us hunting zombies yesterday to the chat channel!”
Alex was momentarily taken aback. “A video?”
“Yes, it seems to be from yesterday,” Mia replied. “We were busy leveling up and didn’t notice. I just saw it now. The video shows us in the middle of a large-scale zombie hunt.”
Alex raised an eyebrow, “Could it be another Lewis?”
The previous incident, where Lewis and his group had filmed Alex operating a tank and profited from it, was still fresh in his mind. It had ended with Alex’s wrath.
Mia shook her head slightly. “This time is different. Take a look for yourself!”
Alex, curious, entered the chat channel.
Sure enough, he found a video with an exceptionally high view count.
The footage showed Alex’s zombie hunting escapades.
What surprised Alex was a segment at the end where someone, with passionate and stirring words, declared that Alex was not a figure of the past but would soon return as a reigning king!
“Wow, I have so many loyal supporters!” Alex was taken aback, finding the situation both amusing and heartwarming.
He had been so engrossed in the thrill of zombie hunting that he hadn’t paid much attention to anything else. He was unaware that his supporters and Taylor’s supporters were in a fierce rivalry.
“Hmm? The video was posted by Larry?”
Alex noticed that the video uploader was someone familiar—Larry!
This just got interesting.
Larry was the streamer who had previously broadcasted the hunt against Lewis and his group.
Not long after, he had donated a large portion of his streaming earnings to Alex. They even had an agreement that allowed Larry to stream his activities.
However, since arriving in the Western District, the two hadn’t been in contact.
So, when Alex saw that the video was posted by Larry, he was a bit surprised. He thought for a moment and then sent a message to Larry.
“Your video was well-made. Thank you very much for your support during these days. I appreciate it!”
After sending the message, Alex exited the chat channel. Looking at Mia and Olivia, he said with a wry smile, “Who would have thought that our disappearance from everyone’s view these days would lead to so much happening.”

Mia smiled and said, “It’s because you’re strong and popular. Many people admire you! If it were an unknown person, who would care about their whereabouts?”
Mia couldn’t help but feel a sense of pride. No matter what, Alex was her man. The more attention and admiration he received, the prouder she felt.
At this point, Olivia spoke hesitantly, “I think we need to be cautious. Taylor’s supporters are quite fanatical and have severe negative emotions.”
Alex nodded in agreement. He had noticed this when he entered the chat channel. Taylor had amassed a large following of fervent supporters who, for various reasons, didn’t think highly of Alex. Some even openly attacked Alex or the two women beside him. These people had to be guarded against.
Mia nodded in agreement as well. “That’s right. Those people are very hostile and might do something extreme. I’ve even seen some advocating for Taylor to challenge you to a duel to prove who is the strongest survivor.”
“However, as it stands, Taylor probably isn’t a match for Alex…” Olivia began, but Mia interrupted her.
“If it were just Taylor, we wouldn’t need to worry too much. But I’ve heard that Taylor is expanding his influence, and many survivors have joined him. They are quite strong too. This might pose a certain threat to us in the future.”
Alex nodded slowly. Taylor was indeed a potential threat.
Although Taylor himself hadn’t made any hostile statements against Alex, his supporters had already positioned Alex as an adversary.
However, the three did not dwell on this matter for too long. Instead, Alex discussed future plans with Mia and Olivia.
Their strengths had all increased significantly, but their need for experience points and Originium had also grown.
At their current rate of gaining experience points, it was challenging to meet these needs.
At least for Alex, it felt too slow.
“Is there a better way to gain experience points?” Alex pondered aloud.
Besides hunting zombies, another way to gain experience points was by selling supplies.
Previously, Alex had reaped considerable benefits from selling large quantities of supplies.
However, the remaining survivors were all quite strong and many supplies had become superfluous to them compared to the value of experience points.
Therefore, using supplies to gain experience points might not be feasible.
Alex then listed a batch of supplies such as bottled water and gasoline on the trading platform.
As expected, the survivors’ desire to trade wasn’t very strong. He had no intention of selling weapons and ammunition either.
To some extent, everyone was a competitor, even potential enemies. Selling weapons and ammunition would only strengthen others, which could backfire someday.
What other ways were there besides selling supplies?
After a brief thought, Olivia suggested, “It seems like live streaming can earn a lot of experience points.”
“Live streaming?” Alex was slightly taken aback. “How does that work?”
Olivia explained, “I heard this from others. You might not know, but someone has listed the top 100 strongest survivors in City 25. On that list, Alex, you are ranked first, and Taylor is second.”
“Of course, that’s not the point,” she continued. “The thing is, almost everyone in the top 100 earned their place through impressive zombie-killing records, except for one person…”
Here, Olivia paused, seemingly trying to create some suspense.
This made Mia anxious. “Come on, tell us! Why are you keeping us in suspense?”
“Hmph, Olivia, you’ve changed!” Mia said, feigning indignation.
Olivia laughed and then continued, “That person is Larry! Alex, you should know him!”
“Apparently, he managed to get into the top 100 survivors through live streaming!”
“Every time he streams, he earns a significant amount of revenue.”
“My idea is that, Alex, you are extremely popular right now. If you start live streaming, you could potentially earn a lot more experience points!”
“Larry?” Alex was surprised. He didn’t expect it to be him.
