Chapter 393: I need to go down there and take a look
Alex flew directly beneath the massive dark cloud, where countless bolts of lightning flickered above his head, creating an aura of immense terror.
However, Alex remained completely unafraid.
Even if the lightning struck him, his Invincible Body would ensure that he wouldn’t suffer any harm.
“An anomaly? Why is there an anomaly here?” Alex wondered, perplexed.
He looked down at the sea below.
The ocean had long since frozen over, with a thick layer of ice.
Yet, he could faintly make out a terrifyingly dark vortex beneath the ice.
The dark vortex seemed to resonate with the ominous cloud in the sky.
“There’s something down there, and it’s connected to the anomaly in the sky! This place is definitely not ordinary!”
Alex thought, considering his next move.
“I need to see what’s beneath this. I have a feeling that whatever is hidden down there is crucial. It may be dangerous, but if I go down, I might uncover something significant!”
Alex didn’t hesitate for long and made up his mind. No matter what, he had to take a look below.
His expression turned slightly serious as he summoned his spear, which blazed like a meteor streaking across the sky.
“Break it open!” Alex shouted, unleashing the full power of his flaming spear.
In an instant, a massive hole was blasted into the thick ice layer by the intense flames.
The sound echoed thunderously as the ice within a one-mile radius shattered into countless pieces, quickly melting under the searing heat.
“The ice has shattered, and now the vortex is even clearer, along with an even stronger sense of danger!” Alex observed. “I need to go down there and take a look.”
Without a second thought, Alex leaped into the water.
Immediately, the icy water enveloped him, its biting cold like countless needles piercing every inch of his skin.
“So cold! This isn’t normal! Regular seawater shouldn’t be this freezing, not even enough to affect me!” Alex’s expression changed slightly.
Normally, seawater has a temperature of around 32 degrees Fahrenheit.
However, there was something strange about this water—it was far colder than that.
Yet, it didn’t hinder his movements.
Without hesitation, Alex dove deeper into the water.
As he descended, the temperature continued to drop, becoming even colder than the air on land.
Yet, curiously, the water didn’t freeze.
“Fortunately, my body is tough enough. No one else in this world could reach this place. Even if they did, they would be frozen to death!”
Alex’s face grew more solemn as he felt the water currents pulling him downward with immense force, as if trying to drag him into the depths of the ocean.
Moreover, Alex could clearly sense an overwhelming feeling of impending danger emanating from the depths below.
It was evident that something massive and secret was hidden down there—a discovery of great significance, but also fraught with danger. Whether or not to proceed was entirely up to Alex.

“Should I go or not?” Alex hesitated for a moment.
“Go!” He quickly made up his mind.
However, just as Alex had made up his mind, he suddenly felt the mysterious force within the surrounding water vanish.
The enormous vortex that had been visible to the naked eye also disappeared without a trace.
Alex was stunned. “What’s going on? Where’s the vortex? How could it disappear so quickly? This doesn’t make any sense!”
Caught off guard, Alex was forced to return to the surface and then fly into the sky.
The dark clouds above had already dissipated, and the countless bolts of lightning were nowhere to be seen.
Whoosh! The cold wind howled as the soaking wet Alex instantly turned into an ice sculpture.
The Ice Age had brought extremely low temperatures, but this was nothing for Alex.
He generated intense heat from his body, with flames faintly flickering, causing the ice on his body to melt instantly and the moisture to evaporate in a moment.
“Why did these anomalies suddenly disappear?” Alex glanced back at the sky and the ocean, utterly baffled.
Just moments ago, he had been on the verge of uncovering the truth. But then, all the anomalies vanished abruptly.
With questions lingering in his mind, Alex reunited with Nathan and the team members stationed at the site.
Wasting no time, Alex immediately brought up his concerns. The team members were thrilled to see Alex appear.
Faced with Alex’s questions, the team leader, who was the most knowledgeable about the situation, nervously stepped forward.
Carefully choosing his words, he reported, “Lord Alex, the anomaly here isn’t always present. Each time it appears, it’s only for a limited duration. However, it seems to follow a pattern. In two days, around noon, this anomaly is expected to reappear, so there’s no need to worry.”
The team leader also described other characteristics of the anomaly, including when it first appeared and how they had discovered it.
He spoke at length, only realizing afterward that, despite his nerves, he had managed to say so much in front of Alex.
This realization left him both terrified and exhilarated.
Reluctantly, Alex decided he would have to wait two more days for the anomaly to reappear.
During this time, under Alex’s orders, everyone unrelated to the investigation was sent back to Dawn City.
Alex had sensed the immense danger hidden within the anomaly.
While his own strength was sufficient to handle it, the others, without the protection of the city walls, would be in great peril if they stayed.
“Alex, have you decided to dive deep into the ocean to find the source of the anomaly?” Two voices reached out to Alex, expressing their concern.
“Rest assured!”
“With my strength, is there really any chance something might go wrong?”
“There’s absolutely no need to worry! Okay?”
Alex reassured the two women repeatedly.
However, it was clear that they were still not very at ease.
After all, Alex claimed to be the strongest in the world.
But who knows if there are other unknown terrifying entities in the unknown regions?
To ease their concerns, Alex reluctantly said, “If it really comes to it, I’ll set up a live stream for you!”
“When I’m diving into the depths of the ocean, I’ll live stream every move I make for you to see!”
Hearing this, the two women had no choice but to agree.
They knew very well that once Alex made a decision, it was very hard to change his mind.
No amount of persuasion would be effective.
