Chapter 41: I typed the wrong word
Currently, Olivia still needs Frank as her teammate.
Alone, she really couldn’t guarantee survival in this apocalyptic world.
So, even though she didn’t like Frank very much, forming a team with him at least meant having someone to look after her.
But now, Frank had a kind of restlessness that caught her off guard.
Olivia always felt that Frank would eventually turn against her.
Several times before, it was because she vehemently disagreed.
Otherwise, Frank, who had always harbored ulterior motives, would have eaten her long ago.
And today, the near altercation made Olivia somewhat anxious.
If only her teammate were Alex…
Olivia opened a chat window with Alex and subconsciously typed: “Alex, how great it would be to have you by my side.”
…
These days, Alex had been trading intelligence with other survivors.
Around the villa area, the influx of survivors led to a sharp decrease in resource production, prompting the need to buy intelligence.
The advantage was that most of the intelligence being sold currently consisted of silver-level supply crates or small groups of zombies, which suited Alex perfectly.
By offering some daily necessities like bread and water, he could obtain silver-level intelligence or even have a chance at gold-level supplies, a deal that Alex felt was more than fair, even quite profitable.
It’s just that gold-level supplies were still too rare.
Since the last time he got a gasoline generator, he hadn’t been able to find intelligence on gold-level supply crates.
Of course, it was also possible that other groups had gotten to them first.
After all, with the numerous survivor teams, especially the ones led by the sheriff, there was fierce competition.
So, Alex was currently sipping on a drink, scrolling through the chat channel, carefully examining every message.
Ping! A private chat window popped up, showing Olivia’s message.
During this time, Olivia had been keeping in touch with Alex.
Using some of her scarce resources, Olivia exchanged life supplies with Alex.
Twenty loaves of bread for a bundle of firewood, or ten bottles of water for two lighters, and so on.
The two of them had also regained their former camaraderie, becoming as familiar as they used to be.
But when Alex opened Olivia’s chat box and saw the message, he almost sprayed his soda.
This kind of ambiguity really caught him off guard.
He couldn’t help but let his mind wander.
Alex blinked and discreetly glanced at Mia, who had just gone upstairs.

Then, without changing his expression, he replied with a message: “?”
The message was sent and read.
However, Olivia immediately retracted the message she had sent.
When she sent the message to Alex on a whim, she was still lost in thought, reminiscing about the past.
It wasn’t until Alex sent a message that the notification sound snapped her out of it.
Seeing the message she had sent, Olivia quickly retracted it.
Fortunately, not much time had passed since the message was sent, so she was able to retract it.
If she couldn’t, she felt she wouldn’t be able to face Alex.
Blushing, Olivia explained in a message, “Sorry, I typed the wrong thing…”
Alex found it somewhat amusing.
“Are you going to trade with me again today?”
Olivia pursed her lips. “Can’t I just chat with you? Is all we have left between us trading?”
Alex sensed Olivia’s frustration in the message.
It was quite amusing.
Quickly, Alex replied casually, “Hahaha, of course not. We’re classmates, you can talk to me anytime. And occasionally, I can even be your emotional dumpster.”
“But, it’ll cost you.”
Olivia sighed.
So, he really just sees me as a friend…
But that’s what sets Alex apart from other guys.
She knew she was attractive.
Olivia had known this for a long time.
Since she was little, boys in her class were too shy to talk to her.
There were piles of love letters from boys in the neighboring class.
When she was younger, perhaps she felt a little proud.
But as she grew older, Olivia found the boys around her to be superficial.
She couldn’t be interested in them.
Until she met Alex.
The first guy who was indifferent to her.
There were others before, but they were all putting on airs, trying to attract her attention.
At first, Olivia also thought of Alex as that type of guy.
But as time passed, she realized that Alex really didn’t seem to have any other thoughts about her.
Unfortunately, it seemed that this guy didn’t like her.
Coming from a poor background, he had no interest in romance, only wanting to make something of himself.
Olivia remembered when she tentatively asked what kind of partner Alex planned to find in the future, only to receive a mischievous and self-deprecating animated emoji in response.
“I don’t have time for any BS love stories right now, I just want to make money!”
