Chapter 42: Samurai Sword Blueprint
Olivia chuckled bitterly.
She forcefully pushed away the lingering thoughts and sent another message: “Forget it, I still rely on Alex’s generosity for daily necessities now. If I have any little emotions, I’ll just swallow them down even if it’s like pulling teeth, because I can’t afford it (crying emoji). But, I really don’t have many daily supplies left, I still want to exchange some with you…”
Alex: “No problem, with the firewood you gave me before, I’ve burned quite a few zombies.”
Olivia fell silent for a moment.
“Alex, can you sell me some weapons… I really need them.”
Alex frowned upon seeing this message.
You see, Olivia hadn’t asked for these things before, only basic necessities like rice, noodles, water, bread, and such.
Apart from some crossbow arrows and molotov cocktails Alex had given her before, Olivia hadn’t mentioned weapons since.
Now, Olivia was asking to buy weapons on her own initiative, which definitely indicated trouble.
This worried Alex.
He listed some crossbow arrows, gasoline, molotov cocktails, and a few grenades on their trading window.
As he typed, he asked, “What’s wrong? Is there danger around you? Zombies or survivors? Do you need me to come over and help? I have a car now, so I can get to your place in half a day.”
Olivia received the supplies Alex sent and a slight smile curved her lips at his concerned words.
Then, she replied, “There aren’t too many zombies around me, and the area I’m in is relatively safe.”
Alex was puzzled.
“What’s the situation then?”
Olivia messaged again, “It’s Frank. He’s been acting strange lately, and I’m worried…”
Then, she proceeded to tell Alex about Frank’s outburst today and all the threats he made.
“Frank has been getting more and more violent lately. Today, upon learning that I was going to continue trading supplies with you, he threatened to cut off contact between us. Besides, he also threatened to kill you! Today, he showed signs of aggression towards me, and I have to be cautious.”
“So arrogant, and he wants to kill me?”
Seeing this, Alex chuckled disdainfully.
Without exaggeration, he felt he could kill Frank, that useless waste, without even moving from where he stood; one hand would be enough.
“It seems like Frank really has some malicious intentions.”
“Be careful yourself, and if you need any help, you can always reach out to me.”
“And also, if Frank really does something inappropriate to you, don’t hesitate to act.”
Olivia appreciated Alex’s concern, even though she knew he was only acting as a good friend.
“I know, I know, I’m not that soft-hearted. Let’s stop here for now, it’s getting late, and I need to return to the shelter.”
Alex and Olivia bid each other farewell and ended their conversation.
However, neither of them knew that another old acquaintance they were familiar with was rushing towards Frank and them without stopping.
At night, the bright moon illuminated the forest.

On the roof of a dilapidated house sat a tall, thin man dressed in black.
He was avoiding zombies in the night, and this place provided him with a safe resting spot and replenished his energy.
The thin man looked at the approaching location share on the system panel, took a bite of bread, and murmured, “Boss, just hold on a little longer, I’ll be there soon…”
…
At that moment, Alex received a message.
“10086, I have a blueprint for a samurai sword here. Just name your price, and it’s yours.”
Alex found it a bit strange.
A samurai sword didn’t seem like a particularly high-level item; it was just a silver-level melee weapon.
He had received a samurai sword before, and although it was sharp, it wasn’t anything special.
Upon realizing that the sender was Emma, the same person who almost swindled Alex with false information about a gold-level supply crate last time, Alex felt puzzled.
Without hesitation, he replied, “No thanks, not interested.”
Emma became a bit frantic upon seeing this message.
She had recommended this samurai sword blueprint to other clients with purchasing power before, but they all immediately turned it down upon hearing the terms of the trade, considering them too demanding.
But Alex was different.
Emma had interacted with Alex before and knew he was a big spender.
If even Alex didn’t want this samurai sword blueprint, then it would truly be a lost cause.
The resources in Emma’s team were scarce, and they urgently needed to sell some items to exchange for essential supplies.
“This isn’t just an ordinary samurai sword blueprint! Do you know that this blueprint can be used twenty times? It’s reusable! Moreover, this type of samurai sword also has a passive attribute, Critical Hit, which deals an additional thirty percent damage to zombies.”
“It’s a great item! 10086, I reached out to you because of our old relationship.”
Last time, I spared your life; consider yourself lucky.
However, Alex reconsidered the value of this samurai sword blueprint.
If it really could deliver critical hits to zombies and could be crafted twenty times, he could not only keep some as backups but also sell the rest for a considerable profit.
After all, scarcity increases value.
Alex continued to inquire, “If this samurai sword is so powerful, why don’t you keep it for yourself and craft more to sell?”
Emma sighed with frustration. “The materials required to forge a samurai sword are too expensive for our team to afford.”
Alex felt a bit intrigued.
He asked Emma to send the blueprint information.
After confirming it, he replied again, “Let’s talk about your trade conditions. I’m starting to get interested.”
Emma was overjoyed and quickly sent her conditions to Alex.
“I want two hundred bottles of water, ten boxes of bread, or fifty kilograms of rice, hehe.”
Seeing the list of items, Alex couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow.
These items were not cheap when calculated.
They were almost as expensive as the price Alex had paid for auctioning the fortified wall initially.
However, although the price was higher, Alex could still afford it.
As long as he exchanged with daily life supplies, there was no need to worry about not being able to afford it.
But Alex also didn’t want to be taken advantage of.
