Chapter 47: Sold Out in an Instant
“Is this it?”
Alex was taken aback.
Mia nodded solemnly.
Clearly, this matter was important to her.
So, Alex explained, “Emma is the person who sold me the information about the gold-level supply box earlier. Remember when I told you today that I wanted to buy a special katana blueprint? Well, that’s what Emma wanted to trade.”
“Initially, I just wanted to negotiate, but she unexpectedly showed me a video of my face.”
“Of course, I couldn’t let it leak out, so I found a way to locate her, captured her, and lured out her father.”
“Guess what happened next?”
Mia, who was listening eagerly, scratched Alex’s ticklish spot when he paused and even urged him to continue.
“I won’t guess. Just tell me.”
Alex chuckled and continued, “Then, I found out that Emma isn’t afraid of zombie bites. After asking her, I learned that she had taken an antivirus serum.”
“So, I made a deal with her father to exchange his daughter for eight bottles of antivirus serum in three days.”
Hearing this, Mia finally understood.
“So that’s what it is. I thought…”
Alex nodded.
“What did you think?”
Mia whispered, “I thought Emma was some wild woman you brought back from outside, and it ruined my appetite for dinner tonight.”
Alex burst into laughter.
“You silly woman, thinking about such nonsense! Having you at home is enough for me. Why would I go looking for wild women?”
But Mia shook her head, saying earnestly, “Alex, actually, in this apocalyptic world, I don’t mind if you fool around.”
“It’s strange. In the past, I would never tolerate such behavior. But now, I just want to make sure you won’t leave me.”
Alex was shocked.
He hadn’t expected Mia to feel so insecure, even just hoping he wouldn’t leave her was enough for her.
“I won’t allow you to think like that. I only want you.”
Mia chuckled.
“Oh? What about the one you’re always chatting with?”
Alex quickly explained, “Mia, don’t misunderstand. Olivia and I are just good friends…”
Mia reached out a finger and gently tapped Alex’s lips, signaling him to stop talking.
Then she said softly, “Alex, you don’t need to explain to me. Just know that I love you very much, and I’ll always be by your side. I hope you won’t let me down. That’s all I ask.”
Alex hugged Mia affectionately.

“Mia, I’ll always love you. You can count on that.”
Mia, feeling embraced, closed her eyes in peace.
“Then you must keep your word.”
With growing drowsiness, she drifted off to sleep.
Alex smiled gently, kissed Mia’s forehead, and they fell asleep in each other’s arms.
The next morning, Alex took out the special katana he had just crafted from the materials he had purchased in bulk, examining it carefully.
Katana: Silver-tier Weapon (Special)
Attack Power: 15
Special Effect: Critical Hit (Deals an additional 30% damage to zombies and prevents wounds inflicted by the katana from healing.)
Alex went to a gathering point of zombies outside the villa area, casually picking out a hapless zombie to test the power of this critical hit katana.
He picked up a stone from the ground, raised his thumb to estimate the range, and squinted one eye.
Then, with a strong throw.
Clang!
The stone hit the zombie’s head squarely.
The zombie stared blankly at Alex, who had thrown the stone, then growled lowly and rushed over.
Alex drew the katana, taking a stance.
As the zombie charged, a flash of silver.
The zombie’s left arm was severed at the elbow, and the pain made it howl.
Observing the wound on the zombie, Alex noticed that the wound inflicted by the critical hit katana indeed showed no signs of healing.
It’s worth noting that zombies have strong self-healing abilities.
Even if their limbs are severed, they usually stop bleeding quickly.
But now, the wound on this zombie’s left arm kept dripping with the foul black blood of the undead, showing no signs of healing at all.
After confirming the power of the critical hit katana, Alex swiftly chopped off the zombie’s head with a single stroke, filming the process as a video.
Then, he began crafting the remaining critical hit katanas.
[Katana Blueprint]
· Iron Sheets: 50 units
· Whetstones: 1 unit
· Additional Status: Critical Hit
· Tier: Silver
Remaining Crafting Attempts: 19
[Craft 19 katanas?]
[Yes/No]
Alex clicked “Yes.”
[Requires 950 units of iron sheets, 19 units of whetstones. Materials detected. Crafting begins.]
With the sound of the system prompt, a ding, nineteen critical hit katanas appeared in Alex’s backpack.
Alex kept ten of the katanas for himself and put the other ten up for sale on the trading platform.
Shortly after, many people started paying attention.
User ID 353346: “I just saw ten katanas on the trading platform, claiming to have a critical hit status that increases damage to zombies by thirty percent and prevents healing of wounds. I really like it, but it’s so expensive!”
User ID 324346: “I can afford it, but who knows if this critical hit katana is as powerful as described! What if I buy it and it turns out to be not that useful? After all, it’s not a small amount of money.”
User ID 10010: “Don’t blame me for not warning you. This is a product listed by User 10086. I don’t think he can sell such good things. If it’s good, why wouldn’t he keep it for himself?”
User ID 355221: “I bought one, it seems okay. But I haven’t tested it against zombies yet. I wonder how it performs in actual combat?”
User ID 10000: “You haven’t tested it, so what do you know! User 10086, a guy who’s just out to make a quick buck, what good stuff could he have…”
User ID 10086: “Are you two bashing me again? Come on, everyone, watch this video I just recorded with the critical hit katana (video attached).”
Alex uploaded a video showing the zombie being knocked down by the critical hit katana, clearly demonstrating its effectiveness and attack power.
It was definitely one of the top-notch melee weapons known.
After the video was released, the critical hit katanas he had listed were instantly sold out on the platform.
Scarcity makes things valuable.
Even though the price was relatively high, there were plenty of people who could afford it.
It was just a matter of whether they were willing to spend the money.
In the next moment, many survivors who hesitated and missed out on the critical hit katanas began lamenting in the chat channel.
User ID 453543: “Ah! Couldn’t get the critical hit katana, so frustrating!”
User ID 674567: “User 10086, do you still have any critical hit katanas left? I’m willing to pay a higher price than before!”
User ID 563278: “Yes, I also want to buy one. I’ve already sent a private message, 10086, please check it!!”
User ID 10010: “I really don’t understand you guys. It’s just a crappy katana, what’s the big deal…”
User ID 10086: “Unfortunately, I only have ten critical hit katanas for sale. The blueprint for the katana has been damaged, so there won’t be any new critical hit katanas for now. It can be said that they’re temporarily out of stock, and we’ll have to wait until the same blueprint is available again in the future.”
Amidst the lamentations of the survivors who missed out on the critical hit katanas, an astonishing message suddenly came from the Sheriff’s team in the chat channel.
The entire survivor community was in shock…
