Chapter 52: Posting Photos, Showing Off
On the way back to the shelter after driving, Alex uploaded the photos he had just taken of the mutated spider he had killed to the chat channel.
Not to attract survivors like the sheriff, nor to kindly advise anyone, but to flee quickly upon encountering mutated creatures.
Just purely showing off.
User 10086: “Just almost died… luckily I’m lucky enough to take it down (attached photo of the mutated spider after death).”
After this photo was sent out, the chat channel fell silent for a moment.
Then, a group of survivors flooded with question marks.
User 5674435: “???”
User 5789323: “???”
User 1209919: “???”
User 23462343: “??? (Maintain formation)”
User 10010: “Maintain what formation, this is obviously fake, must be Photo-shopped! It’s well known that 10086 is a lone wolf, how could he possibly handle such a big mutated spider alone? Fake, definitely fake!”
User 10000: “That’s right, although I’m reluctant to admit it, 10086 does have relatively abundant resources, but there’s absolutely no way he could solo a mutated spider! Must have found help!”
User 5678567: “You two are so paranoid about 10086… Where in the post-apocalyptic world could there still be Photoshopping? The pictures uploaded through the system, how could they be fake?”
User 10000: “Then he must have found help, anyway, there’s no way he did it alone…”
User 10086: “Invincibility is so lonely.”
User 10000: “10086, you!”
User 10086: “Believe it or not, it’s up to you, anyway, I’ve already got the supplies and I’m going home, I’m just sharing this (shy expression).”
After sending the message, Alex chuckled and closed the chat channel.
His purpose had been achieved.
Being able to attract the hatred of 10010 and 10000 every day was also a kind of fun.
Alex stepped on the accelerator, breaking the speed limit of one hundred kilometers per hour.
The old car raced, carrying him back to the shelter.
Ever since Alex collected the materials to repair the transmission of the old car, this beaten-up old car had been rejuvenated, able to shift gears freely up to fifth gear, greatly improving Alex’s efficiency in collecting supplies.
On the other side, the sheriff was frowning as he looked at the information Alex had just sent, sighing heavily.
“This 10086 seems to exceed our expectations, his resources far exceed our imagination.”
They had suffered heavy losses in hunting down that mutated zombie boar.
Using a substantial amount of resources and allowing some cannon fodder to wield cold weapons regardless of cost, only then did they successfully claim the title of hunting down the first mutated creature.
If it had been any later, it probably would have been snatched away by 10086.
Standing beside the sheriff, 001 thought for a moment and then said, “Sheriff, is it possible that, as other survivors speculate, 10086 found help?”
Obviously, 001 didn’t quite believe it either. It was hard to believe that 10086 alone could kill such a huge mutated spider.

After all, he was one of the main forces in hunting mutated wild boars and knew how tough mutated zombie creatures could be.
The sheriff listened to this but shook his head.
“Not very likely. He’s a lone wolf. If he needed outside help, he wouldn’t have rejected our invitation so decisively at the beginning. Obviously, he doesn’t trust other survivors.”
001 looked incredulous, saying, “But, that’s not possible! One person being able to kill mutated creatures is simply unbelievable.”
The sheriff zoomed in on Alex’s picture, pointing to those gunshot wounds and knife marks, saying, “You see, these obvious gunshot wounds obviously didn’t cause much damage to the mutated spider. The key should be 10086’s critical hit katana.”
“You also have a critical hit katana. You should know how sharp this critical weapon is against zombies.”
“If I’m not mistaken, he definitely still has inventory, it’s not like he said it’s all sold out.”
001 nodded.
“The sheriff is right, the critical hit katana is indeed extremely sharp when dealing with zombies.”
“But, he couldn’t have solved the mutated spider with just a critical hit katana. After all, at that time, we used a lot of resources to consume that mutated wild boar, and I only went up to harvest it…”
The sheriff waved his hand, saying, “So, that’s what I mean, 10086’s resources are beyond our imagination.”
“It should be that initially, they engaged in a battle of attrition with the mutated spider, and then used the critical hit katana for the final harvest. It must be like this.”
001 frowned, asking, “So, are we going to be friends with him?”
The sheriff chuckled.
“Be friends? That’s absolutely impossible! Even though his strength does make me somewhat wary, as long as we are willing to pay the price and solve this potential threat, then everything is worth it.”
“Sheriff, so, are we going to start dealing with him?”
The sheriff nodded.
“That day is coming soon, let him enjoy his freedom for a while longer.”
At this moment, Alex naturally wouldn’t imagine that just because of one picture, the sheriff had completely harbored thoughts of eliminating him.
Alex drove back to the villa area, and the barrier walls slowly opened.
“Welcome back, my master!” Mia and Emma also came out in advance to greet Alex after his day out.
Emma was very unhappy.
“Why do I have to come out to greet too? I’m a hostage, when did hostages welcome kidnappers like this…”
Mia laughed, “That’s not right. Since you’re a hostage, shouldn’t you try to please the kidnapper even more? Aren’t you afraid that Alex will tear you apart if you anger him?”
“That’s right. If you annoy me, I’ll throw you out to feed the zombies.”
Alex parked the car in the garage and walked over, overhearing the conversation between the two.
Mia naturally took Alex’s hand and asked softly, “Are you hurt?”
“What could happen to me, don’t worry.”
Emma looked somewhat strange on the side.
“I didn’t expect you to actually kill a mutated spider alone. I underestimated you.”
Alex rolled his eyes impatiently.
“Do you really wish for my death so much?”
Emma snorted.
“Of course, if you die, I’ll just run away, who cares about your life or death?”
“Heh, I really appreciate it… But, I’m powerful. I brought back a golden-level supply crate, are you jealous?”
Alex was in a very good mood.
On the way back, he opened the golden-level supply crate.
Automatic defense armament system.
Although it was only one item, for Alex, it was definitely a lifesaver.
Currently, both the strength of the zombies and the survivors was increasing.
What Alex was most worried about was the safety and defense of the shelter.
Although they had golden-level barrier walls, they had always lacked active defense weapons.
Once they went out, it was very likely that the shelter would be occupied by other survivors.
Now, that worry was gone.
