Chapter 63: Constructing an Underground Bunker
At this point, Alex had gathered enough S alloy to support the construction of the underground bunker and naturally wouldn’t delay any further.
Although Olivia mentioned that the meteor shower would arrive in about a month, building the underground bunker sooner rather than later was preferable.
Alex planned to build the underground bunker beneath his villa.
Firstly, for convenience of access.
Secondly, because the villa already had barrier walls and the support of an automatic defense system, making it safer to construct the underground bunker here.
Thirdly, because the villa already had a basement.
The construction of the underground bunker could completely utilize the structure of the basement for expansion.
Alex took out the construction blueprint of the underground bunker and, along with Mia and Olivia, arrived at the villa’s basement to witness the construction process.

Alex clicked to build the underground bunker, and the S alloy in his backpack began to melt, gradually adhering to the walls of the original villa’s basement, continuously merging and expanding…
It was still the same basement, yet not entirely the original one anymore.
Alex looked at the walls of the basement, which should now be the underground bunker.
The walls, with their smooth, silvery texture of shining S alloy, had transformed the underground bunker into a futuristic white space, exuding a sci-fi vibe.
The construction of the underground bunker was completed, causing exclamations of astonishment from Mia and Olivia.
However, Alex, with his hand on his chin, felt that something about this underground bunker seemed familiar.
After some contemplation, he finally slapped his forehead.
This discreet and restrained silvery texture, the metal covering the entire wall, wasn’t this an upgraded version of a prison?!
Once people accepted a certain setting in their minds, they couldn’t change the inherent impression brought about by their subconscious.
Now, Alex found himself increasingly displeased with this underground bunker.
Fortunately, the construction of the underground bunker was based on the foundation of the original basement, so it retained its original spaciousness.
It had a basement living room, two maid rooms, a bar counter, a study, and many other functional areas.
This aspect pleased Alex.
After all, his initial imagination of the underground bunker was akin to those in movies, with cramped spaces filled with supplies and survivors.
Looking at the underground bunker, where apart from the S alloy-covered walls, almost nothing else had changed, Alex was very satisfied.
Even without the meteor shower, living here would be extremely comfortable.
Alex glanced at Mia and Olivia.

He wanted to remodel this underground bunker.
After all, the original basement followed the initial design layout, which he wasn’t particularly fond of.
Of course, involving Mia and Olivia in the remodeling of the underground bunker was essential.
Alex smiled and said, “Mia, Olivia, I want to remodel the underground bunker, what do you think we should do?”
Mia was puzzled. “Remodel? What aspect are we talking about? Are we talking about armament or interior design?”
Alex patted Mia’s head and explained, “Silly, of course, we’re talking about interior design, I’ll take care of the armament.”
When it came to interior design, Olivia’s eyes lit up. She loved interior design.
Olivia said, “Alex, I think the most important thing to remodel in the underground bunker is the S alloy wall. It’s too cold and gives people chills.”
Mia agreed. “Yes, Alex, the color of the S alloy is too icy, it’s a bit harsh on the eyes, we should change it to a warmer color.”
Alex looked at the color of the S alloy. He indeed didn’t like it; it was uncomfortable to look at for too long.
Choosing a warmer color would be better.
Alex nodded in agreement with Mia and Olivia’s suggestion.
“What color or wallpaper do you two plan to use?” Alex asked.
Mia and Olivia said in unison, “Blue.”
They were both stunned for a moment, then exchanged a smile.
They hadn’t expected to both like the color blue.
Alex smiled and said, “Alright, two beats one, majority rules, let’s paint the walls blue. But remember, no slacking off when it’s time to work, everyone pitches in.”
Mia clung to Alex’s arm playfully. “I know, how could I bear to let you do all the work alone?”
Olivia glanced at him and said softly, “I feel the same, I’ll help too.”
Alex pointed to the original living room and said, “By the way, we don’t need to modify this living room much, just some simple leather sofas, a coffee table, and a TV. That’s it, since we don’t have any other furniture, we’ll make do with what we have.”
Mia walked into the living room and pointed to the wall where the sofa was leaning against. “Alex, can we hang a painting here? I really like the painting in our upstairs room, it would look nice here too.”
Alex nodded. “Sure, no problem, we’ll take it down and hang it up later.”
Olivia looked at the original bar counter, then glanced around at the layout and suggested, “Alex, it seems like our underground bunker doesn’t have a kitchen, why don’t we remodel this bar counter into a simple open kitchen?”
Many of the survival supplies were perishable and needed processing before consumption.
Normally at the villa, Mia and Olivia took charge of cooking, while Alex waited to eat.
It was only when Olivia mentioned it that he realized the underground bunker was missing a kitchen.
No wonder he always felt something was missing.
Mia, upon hearing Olivia’s words, also realized belatedly.
“Yeah, Olivia, you’re so attentive. I hadn’t even noticed that the underground bunker didn’t have a kitchen.”
“Olivia, how do you and Mia plan to design the kitchen?” Alex asked, looking at Olivia, waiting for her response.
After pondering for a moment, Mia spoke up. “We definitely need to replace this bar counter. We’ll need to find a table to use as a stove and gather a batch of new kitchen utensils. We’ll also place a dining table next to the kitchen. It doesn’t need to be too fancy, just simple.”
Olivia nodded in agreement. “After all, the underground bunker is an emergency shelter, there’s no need to go overboard.”
However, Alex disagreed.
“No, that won’t do. The kitchen must be done properly! Leave it to me, I’ll find suitable kitchen utensils and a stove.”
“Besides, if you two don’t improve your cooking area a bit, and one day I don’t like something and take it out on the food, ruining the taste, I’ll suffer too.”
Mia and Olivia chuckled. “You said it yourself, you’re responsible for the kitchen renovation, no slacking off.”
Alex smiled confidently. “No slacking off, whoever slacks off is a puppy, alright?”
Next, they moved on to the bedrooms.
Since there were only two rooms, Alex got one to himself.
“Isn’t it a bit much for you two to share one room and me to have one to myself?” Alex thought he could live with Mia in the underground bunker later on.
But to his surprise, Mia and Olivia teamed up to push him into the other room.
“We’re being considerate,” Olivia laughed. “We know you’re a guy and need to sleep comfortably, so we’re letting you have your own room. We’ll squeeze together.”
Alex’s resistance was futile; he had to accept it.
They didn’t have many ideas for the rest of the underground bunker.
There was no need to fuss too much; keeping it as it was would suffice.
Then, the three of them began to cover the furniture with sheets and prepare to paint the walls.
Alex took out paint and brushes from his backpack, slowly mixing the shade of blue between green and blue that Mia and Olivia liked.
He remembered that in the old world, this kind of blue was called Tiffany blue.
Mixing the paint wasn’t difficult.
Alex poured a large bucket of blue paint, gradually adding white paint until the blue lightened, then slowly added yellow paint to blend it.
Soon, he achieved the color of Tiffany blue.
With three buckets of paint prepared, Alex handed one to Mia and one to Olivia, each with a brush, and they began to paint the walls in different areas.
The underground bunker was quite spacious.
If they didn’t work together, Alex estimated he’d be working all day alone.
