Chapter 78: Buying Concrete
The heat in the live stream room was rising.
Liam was sweating profusely, working even harder as he watched the skyrocketing gifts.
However, many people left the live stream room, like Alex.
With two beauties by his side, he wasn’t desperate enough to look at others.
Instead, the desperate cries of others made him somewhat uncomfortable.
Alex turned off the live stream, lit a cigarette, and sighed.
“People…”
Alex was preparing to upgrade to an intermediate underground bunker.
It was a decision he had thought about for a long time.
While having dinner, Mia served Alex a bowl of rice and casually mentioned, “Alex, what about the vegetables we planted? Where should we move them when the meteor shower comes?”
Chewing on his rice, Alex replied without hesitation, “Of course, we’ll move them to the underground bunker.”
Mia frowned and sighed.
“But our underground bunker doesn’t have enough space to accommodate so many fruits and vegetables, and, most importantly, how can we ensure they get enough sunlight for photosynthesis?”
Alex said, “The issue of photosynthesis is easy to solve; we have plenty of reserve daylight lamps. However, I didn’t pay much attention to the space. Now that these fruits and vegetables have grown, they do take up a lot of space…”
The unlimited supplies Alex received yesterday happened to include daylight lamps, so he didn’t have to worry about the photosynthesis problem for the fruits and vegetables.
If one daylight lamp wasn’t enough, he could use several more.
But space was a big problem.
Now, the fruits and vegetables they planted had filled the yard and rooftop terrace.
It was almost impossible to move them all into the underground bunker.
After all, the underground bunker was only the size of a villa.
Apart from the living area, there wasn’t much extra space.
Olivia asked, “Alex, can the underground bunker be upgraded?”
Alex nodded, put down his chopsticks, propped his chin with his hand, and pondered, “It’s possible, but upgrading to an intermediate underground bunker requires a large amount of concrete, which we don’t have enough of.”
“If we slowly scour the trading platform, I’m afraid that by the time the meteor shower comes, it’ll be uncertain whether we can upgrade or not.”
Olivia thought deeply, twirling her hair, and then had a sudden inspiration.
“Alex, why don’t we go and trade with other teams?”
“As far as I know, many large teams hoard a lot of resources for trading. Some hoard steel, some hoard wood. If we patiently search through the chat channels, we might find a team with a large stockpile of concrete.”
Alex blinked, pondered for a moment, then nodded.
“Feasible. This is an opportunity. Otherwise, it would be a pity to waste all the fruits and vegetables we’ve grown just because of one meteor shower.”
Olivia agreed wholeheartedly.

“Of course, it would be such a waste after all the hard work we’ve put into growing them for so many days.”
“I happen to know of a team that seems to be trading concrete externally. Would you like to find out more?”
“Absolutely!”
Alex nodded with a smile, “That sounds good, Olivia. How did you know which team has concrete? I had no idea.”
Olivia sweetly smiled, feeling a bit embarrassed.
“Well…I actually found out about this team by chance. They were selling lipstick on the chat platform before, and that’s how I found out they have a large quantity of concrete for sale.”
Mia also suddenly realized.
“Oh! Olivia, was it the same team you bought those small gold bars from last time?!”
Olivia smiled faintly.
“Yes, it was their team’s resources. Mia, are you satisfied with them?”
Mia nodded enthusiastically.
“It’s really great! I used to buy this brand of lipstick often in the old world. It’s super moisturizing and spreads smoothly.”
The two women quickly got engrossed in discussing lipstick at the dining table, brimming with excitement.
Alex sighed.
“Hey hey, aren’t we discussing upgrading to an intermediate underground bunker? How did we end up talking about lipstick…”
But Mia and Olivia seemed oblivious, deeply engrossed in their discussion.
Alex couldn’t get a word in and could only shake his head helplessly.
He silently finished his meal and tidied up the dishes.
Alex had been wanting to upgrade to an intermediate underground bunker, but he lacked enough upgrade materials.
Unexpectedly, Olivia informed him about a team that had a large stockpile of concrete.
This naturally strengthened his determination to upgrade to an intermediate underground bunker.
Alex opened the chat channel, searching for the team Olivia mentioned.
Number 347343: “Damn, it takes five thousand batches of concrete to upgrade to an intermediate underground bunker? Where on earth am I supposed to find that? The stuff on the trading platform is all scattered, completely useless!”
Number 573353: “Whoa, you’re upgrading to an intermediate fortress?”
Number 374343: “I’m the head of the drug cartel team. Tell me, do we have the capability to upgrade to an intermediate underground bunker?”
The drug cartel is a newly established large-scale team.
The Police Station, as the only large-scale team, follows as the second-tier team.
The drug cartel has established itself firmly, undeniably powerful.
Number 845634: “Whoa, big boss, 666!”
Number 678965: “Seeing a real person…”
Number 845534: “Our team has just built a basic underground bunker. Well, we can’t really compare with the large-scale teams after all.”
Number 745343: “Drug cartel leader Noah? We have a large amount of concrete here. Interested? I’m Oliver, leader of the Dragon Soar Team.”
Dragon Soar is also a second-tier large-scale team.
Rumors have it that the team has two giant bulldozers.
Their most famous achievement is flattening an opposing force overnight.
Afterward, they solidified their position as a second-tier team.
Seeing the statement from the Dragon Soar leader, Alex was thrilled.
It’s likely that the big team Olivia mentioned is indeed the Dragon Soar.
And after drug cartel team leader Noah saw the message, he also gladly responded.
“Oliver? I’ve heard of you! If you have a large amount of concrete over there, let’s talk about it. Can we chat privately?”
Oliver responded likewise.
“Of course, I can ensure an ample supply of concrete. Dragon Soar won’t tarnish its own reputation; business still relies on integrity. Noah, I’ve messaged you privately, let’s talk there.”
The leaders of the two large teams exited the chat channel and engaged in private conversation.
Alex quietly closed the chat channel as well and clicked on Oliver’s profile, entering the private chat window.
“Hello, Mr. Oliver, I’m interested in purchasing a large amount of concrete. Can we discuss?”
However, after sending the message, it seemed to vanish into thin air, with no response forthcoming.
“Huh? No reply?”
Alex furrowed his brows slightly.
What’s going on here?
Just now, Oliver was quite enthusiastic when facing the leader of the drug cartel team.
It had to be said that Alex felt a bit uneasy.
But he indeed needed to purchase a large amount of concrete to upgrade to an intermediate underground bunker, so he didn’t dwell on it too much.
