Chapter 113: Older Brother
When she saw the zombies charging at her, Bai Meiyue raised her hand and formed a large water scythe before reaping the heads of the ten zombies altogether.
After collecting the crystal nuclei, Bai Meiyue soon found the warehouse entrance. As soon as she opened the door, a zombie wearing the supermarket uniform turned to look at her with his grey eyes. Upon noticing her, the zombie opened his mouth and revealed his sharp fangs as it attacked Bai Meiyue.
Bai Meiyue used the butcher knife to stop him; she raised the tip of the knife and aimed it right inside the mouth of the monster, causing it to dig deep into the upper jaw of the zombie. She then hurriedly formed a water spear and shoved it into the head of the zombie, causing his head to explode.
After dealing with the zombie, she cleared the stuff in the warehouse. Bai Meiyue only took the expensive and rare things while leaving the mineral water bottles and other stuff in the warehouse for others. Though she was selfish, Bai Meiyue was not going to cut off routes for others.
She swept the warehouse clean because Bai Meiyue wanted to use these things to upgrade the system. Though it was nowhere near enough to open the third level, she still wanted to lower the difficulty bar a little for the peace of her mind.
After stashing the necessary things, Bai Meiyue was in quite a good mood. But when she thought about Bai Feng, her mind suddenly went back to Bai Xue and soon her blood started to boil. She pushed her hair back and wiped her sweaty forehead.
Her eyes were filled with a wild look. ‘Bai Xue, I really want to meet you.’
She then walked back to the first floor, where she found Bai Feng waiting for her. She arched her eyebrow and asked, “Where is Qiu Li?”
“I sent her back home,” Bai Feng replied. “I also told her our address just in case she needs our help.” Bai Feng knew that Qiu Li was Bai Meiyue’s friend; thus, he stretched out an olive branch to that woman just for Bai Meiyue’s sake.
Bai Meiyue raised a brow. She was quite surprised when she heard Bai Feng’s answer but she still hummed in response. It was better to leave a way out for Qiu Li just in case.
Seeing that Bai Meiyue was walking away without saying anything, Bai Feng hesitated and chased after her. He said to her, “Did you run out of the house because of that woman?”
“What does that have to do with you?” Bai Meiyue asked as she stepped out of the supermarket. Her eyes fell on the zombies that were surrounding her boat. They must have smelt the human scent and come to linger there.
When Bai Feng saw that Bai Meiyue’s boat was surrounded, he whispered, “You can come with me. I have a motorboat; I will bring you back—”
He was still speaking when Bai Meiyue rushed out like an arrow shot from a bow. Seeing this Bai Feng yelped in surprise; he didn’t expect such a thing to happen and was stunned upon seeing her actions.
“Yueyue, come back!” Bai Feng knew that Bai Meiyue was provoked by the things that happened but he never thought that she would go this crazy. Were these monsters something she could just deal with if she wanted to? They were man-eating monsters; they attacked and killed humans before feasting on them.
However, before he could rush out and pull Bai Meiyue back, the woman raised the knife in her hands and cut down the head of the zombie before using her foot to smash it into a pulp.
Blood as black as tar started to pour out of the head of the zombie. As these monsters were not alive, the blood inside had long turned rotten after it started flowing like a normal person. Thus, it was really thick and smelly. Bai Meiyue, who was already feeling nauseous, felt her stomach churn and she threw up.
She threw up because the scent was too much for her to bear and she felt really uncomfortable. While Bai Feng, who stood behind her, threw up because the sight was really terrifying. The zombies were disgusting to begin with; when their heads were cut off, blood would start pouring out of their necks.
And the smell—it was awful!
However, while Bai Feng was throwing up, he noticed Bai Meiyue crouch down and then pick up something from the bloody pulp that was once the head of the zombie.
Seeing her fingers pick up and throw the bloody flesh aside, Bai Feng threw up once again.
Was this really his naive and cute sister?
Bai Feng felt like he could no longer recognise Bai Meiyue.
‘This zombie was about to level up.’ After Bai Meiyue finished dealing with the zombies, she collected the crystal nuclei and was stunned when she found a nuclei that was bigger and full of power. It was a good thing that she dealt with it or else she was worried that this monster would have levelled up.
After all, it was not only humans who could level up and become dual- or triple-ability users. Zombies could level up too; of course, not all zombies would level up; only those who attacked and devoured a bunch of humans who could have awakened would level up.
And the more they levelled up, the harder it would be to kill them.
She placed the crystal nuclei in her pocket space and turned to look at the rest of the zombies that were staggering towards her. She sensed that they were also on the verge of levelling up and decided to deal with them before they could become a threat to her.
Bai Feng watched Bai Meiyue turn on her feet and rush at the bunch of zombies. He clenched his fingers when he saw Bai Meiyue attack those man-eating monsters. Even his younger sister had adapted to these changes; what was he doing as her elder brother?
