When she woke up, Bai Meiyue sighed, feeling her stomach growling with hunger. She raised her hand and poked her belly, which was still flat and muttered, “You—are you trying to turn your mother into a bum?”

These days all she wanted was to eat and sleep. She wondered after whom Bai Cai took after, because she had always been an energetic child when she was young. It must be Lei Qian.

That man had this air of laziness around him every time she talked to him.

However, no matter which parent Little Cai Cai took after, there was nothing that Bai Meiyue could do. She sighed and sat upright in the bed. Bai Meiyue didn’t dare to go outside and ask her mother for food, as she was worried that her mother would sense something amiss with her.

Bai Meiyue took out a piping hot bowl of soup dumplings and gulped them down slowly. As she was eating, she turned her head to the window and noticed that the sky had turned dark. She finished eating her meal before getting up from the bed.

“Let’s go out and have some fun.” Bai Meiyue arched her arms over her head and muttered. She walked to the bathing room where she took a bath and finished dressing up.

She climbed down the stairs and said to her two brothers, “Let’s go; didn’t you say that you wanted to practice, Brother Jixuan?”

When Bai Jixuan heard Bai Meiyue’s words, he jumped on his feet with a loud ‘wooo.’ Seeing this, Yan Wanning’s expression turned cold. Though she seemed to be chewing her tongue as if she wanted to throw a diatribe, she still held herself back.

His mother was not awakened and relied on the three siblings; nothing could happen to them. If they died, then who knows what would happen to their mother?

His sons were still young; they couldn’t take care of their grandmother. If anything, they would become a burden on his old mother.
