As soon as she finished speaking, an eerie silence spread all over the gas station. Though Bai Meiyue sensed the change, she still pretended to be dumb and asked, “What? Don’t tell me that you just wanted to thank us verbally. We put our lives at risk to save yours. This is what we deserve.”

Xiao Guan was left stunned when he heard Bai Meiyue’s words but he blinked his eyes and recovered quite quickly before saying to her, “Then can you give me a few minutes? I need to discuss this matter with my team.” Though he was the team leader, most of the supplies were with Hu Ajing and the two women who came with her.

“You can,” Bai Meiyue sneered. “But do remind them that it was us who dealt with the man-eating monsters when you couldn’t.”

Though she didn’t say anything, Xiao Guan understood her meaning. If he didn’t hand over a decent amount of supplies, they would probably be beaten by these people.

Xiao Guan was not willing but he had no choice.

“Is this necessary?” Yun Chuan asked after hesitating for a while when Xiao Guan walked away.

“It is necessary,” replied Bai Meiyue coldly. “If we do not take their supplies, they would take it for granted. It is their fortune that they were able to survive today. But what if they make a habit of relying on others all the time? Whats more, who can guarantee that these people will not follow us and ask us to protect them?”

“Look carefully; a few of the members have looked here more than once.”

As soon as she finished speaking, Wan Guofu raised his cold face and looked at the crowd of people. Indeed, a few of them were looking over to where they were standing and seemed to be teetering on the verge of speech.

“These people are not friends or family members. They are following each other because they have no choice,” explained Bai Meiyue. “They have no bond or feelings for one another. So if they see a team stronger than the one they are following, they would hurry to cling to our team. By asking for supplies, I have cleared our stance that we do not take any idlers with us nor do we do idle work or charity.”

Sure enough, as soon as she finished speaking, those people who were looking at their team stiffened and turned to look at Xiao Guan. Most probably that man had disclosed the matter of Bai Meiyue asking for supplies to his team.

Those who were looking at her team were no longer staring at them any more.

Seeing this, Bai Meiyue curled her lips and stated, “These people are like leeches. They only want to get their hands on supplies but they do no real work. If I hadn’t asked for supplies, then they would have come here to beg us, and if we hadn’t agreed, they would have called us all kinds of names.”

He raised the box of mineral water, some frozen meat, and packs of instant noodles.

Bai Meiyue hummed. She had no intention to snatch the supplies of this team; she just didn’t want unnecessary trouble. With her message cleared, those idlers would definitely not come and cause trouble for her.

She turned to Bai Zhan and asked him to fill the gas tank and walked out of the gas station. However, as soon as she stepped out, she saw Lu Yin following Lei Yan, who was heading towards the small alley that was not far from the gas station.

Bai Meiyue’s eyes flashed with annoyance as she chased after the two women.

“It seems like you really do not understand human language ah,” Bai Meiyue grabbed Lu Yin by her throat and slammed her against the wall. “I told you that if you make another move, I will kill you. Is it because you think you are too strong or do you think that I was just throwing threats around that I do not mean?”

“Let—let go of me.” Lu Yin tried to get rid of the fingers that were clutching her throat and kicked Bai Meiyue’s knees with her legs. Seeing this, Bai Meiyue sneered and said, “Let go of you? If I let go of you, who will let go of Lei Yan? With how thick your head is, I believe even if I tell you to leave her alone, you wouldn’t listen to me, right?”

“Then isn’t it better to kill you? After all, only dead people are obedient.”
