Seeing all of this, Bai Feng’s expression became unpredictable. He watched the survivors climb up the stairs without looking back at him and his eyes flashed with a glint that no one caught. However, Bai Feng didn’t say anything. He followed Chu Xia and the rest upstairs.

As soon as they returned to the penthouse where the Bai family lived, all of the survivors, including Xiang Mei, went to look for Chu Xia and Bai Xue.

There was no helping it; only those two women had the supplies in their hands.

Thus, the second Chu Xia returned home, all the survivors rushed to get their hands on some supplies. They didn’t even bother to help Bai Feng, who was holding the door that had been smashed open by Bai Meiyue. They simply walked past Bai Feng, who was trying to fix the door and never bothered to say a ‘thank you.’

“Thank you, Auntie Chu, Xuexue.”

“Thank you, Xuexue!”

“You are an angel, Xuxue!”

“I didn’t eat for a week, Wuuu—this tastes so good. Finally, I can eat and drink in peace.”

Everyone was surrounding Chu Xia and Bai Xue while telling them that they were their saviours. Among these people was a woman who was standing out of the crowd but not because she came to thank Bai Feng but because she was standing in front of Su Hu.

Meng Anzhi gnawed on a piece of bread and thanked Su Hu, “Thank you for letting Sister Xue take us, Senior.”

“Its nothing; this is what I am supposed to do.” Su Hu waved his hand, looking really flattered. He was a handsome man with gentle looks, which made women swoon and fall for him; thus, the second he smiled at Meng Anzhi, she couldn’t help but blush happily.

One had to admit that Meng Anzhi knew how to charm a man in her own way. By putting Bai Xue down and showing her gratitude to Su Hu, Meng Anzhi truly satisfied his vanity.

“Just what is she doing?” Meng Qibao looked at his cousin with a hint of disgust on his face.

Beside him was Meng Suisui, who was sitting nervously in a corner. The two siblings were not like others who went to rummage around for supplies; instead, the two siblings stayed in a corner. Meng Suisui glanced at Meng Anzhi and pursed her lips.

She turned to look at Meng Qibao, who was swallowing hard and pursed her lips. If they stayed here, Meng Suisui knew that her brother would soon follow Meng Anzhi’s example and start flattering others to get his hands on the supplies. She couldn’t allow that to happen.

“We should go.” Meng Suisui got to her feet and stepped out of the penthouse after making an excuse.

Meng Qibao would follow whatever his sister did and immediately followed her. Behind him was an elderly director, along with the two individuals who recently won the best actor and actress award.

“Where are we going?” Meng Qibao asked just as he stepped past Bai Feng and went after his sister.

Bei Feng watched the mess in and out of his house coldly. Though he had fixed the door, the lock was still undone as he didn’t have another one.

He turned and looked at Bai Xue, who was smiling and handing out the supplies that he had brought back after almost exchanging his life for them. Bai Xue happily smiled at the crowd and said to them, “There is no need to thank me; this is what I should be doing for all the care that you have shown me.”

“Don’t worry, I have more; you can eat your fill.”

Bai Xue felt her vanity being quite satisfied when she heard the praises. She didn’t even look at Bai Feng when she said these words nor did she care about the fact that the supplies that she had handed out without thinking twice were brought by Bai Feng at the risk of his life. She only felt overjoyed at being thanked and praised by others.

Bai Feng popped a pill to control his rising temperature and glanced at the crowd coldly. However, he didn’t say anything. He went upstairs and changed his clothes into a clean set of sportswear before climbing downstairs and taking out the key of the new car that he had found.

And while Chu Xia and Bai Xue were busy basking in glory, he walked out of the door without saying a single word to the two of them.

When Fang Qing found out that Bai Meiyue had actually gone upstairs to cause trouble for Bai Xue, she panicked. Earlier, when the crowd went to cause trouble for Bai Meiyue, Fang Qing had also snuck out and tried to wash her hands in the flowing river.

However, she didn’t get anything and returned home.
