Chapter 148: Fang Fei
Fang Fei was determined to live a better life. She even started to dream of her good life if she could win the hearts of the Lai family. She couldn’t help but giggle in excitement when she thought about her good days!

“Feifei, what are you thinking?” Mother Fang looked at her second daughter, who was smiling while looking in the corner in a daze.

“Nothing,” Fang Fei snapped out of her thoughts and shook her head. She couldn’t let her mother know her little thoughts; after all, Fang Fei was planning to cut off all contact with her family once she had successfully climbed up.

However, Mother Fang didn’t trust her. She knew that among her two children, Fang Fei was the one with the most restless personality but before she could air her suspicion, Brother Fang, who was lying on the bed, let out a groan.

When Mother Fang heard his groan, her attention was immediately diverted. She turned to look at her son and started sobbing, “That woman is really heartless. She not only chopped my son’s wrist but also refused to help us. She is really out for our lives! What are we supposed to do now?”

“If I had known that they were this kind of people, I would have never let them marry my daughter!”

As she spoke, Mother Fang glared at her husband and shouted, “It’s your fault! If you were not such a weak bastard, then people wouldn’t have dared to bully us, mother and son. It’s all because you are weaker than a chicken!”

Father Fang listened to the complaints of his wife silently. He didn’t say a word and kept quiet. Seeing this, Mother Fang became even more furious and started scolding her husband even more loudly. She yelled so fiercely that her voice penetrated the walls of the room and even attracted a few zombies.

It was only when Mother Fang heard the ho-ho sound getting closer that she closed her mouth.

Fortunately for the Fang family, the sun had slowly risen high in the sky, which made the zombies hide in the dark corners; thus, their family didn’t fall into trouble.

Taking advantage of this, Fang Fei ran upstairs and knocked on the electric door that had been installed in the corridor by the Lei family.

Fang Fei was in a hurry not only because she was worried that she would attract the zombies but also because she knew that if Bai Meiyue found her, she would definitely even the odds with her. After all, she had also bullied her nephews quite a lot.

The door opened quickly.

It was Lei Yan who opened the door.

Behind her was Lu Yu, who peered at the woman and frowned; he came with Lei Yan to see who it was. He didn’t even get a chance to deal with his sister, who had locked herself in the room when they returned and finally caught her when she stepped out of her room to take some supplies back to her room.

However, before he could even say a word to her, the doorbell rang, and he had to step out of the house with Lei Yan to see what was going on.

Recognising that the woman in front of her was someone from the Fang family, Lei Yan frowned. She was worried that if Bai Meiyue saw this woman, she would be upset with her and questioned the woman angrily, “What are you doing here?”

“I…I didn’t mean any harm,” Fang Fei panicked when she saw that Lei Yan was hostile to her. “I just wanted to ask you if you need someone to work as a maid in your house. I just—just need a few supplies in exchange and nothing else.”

Fang Fei pretended to be weak and whispered, “I know that you might have some bad impression of me but I swear I am different from my family. Miss, can you take me…my family, they are planning to sell me to an old man in exchange for supplies.”

Because Fang Fei wanted to justify her separation from her family, she didn’t think twice before blackening their reputation and image in front of Lei Yan.

She even closed her eyes and shed tears hypocritically.

When Lei Yan didn’t say anything, Fang Fei lowered her head and started to wipe her tears as if she had been embarrassed by her silence. However, just as she wiped her tears, she actually used her arm to undo the button of her top and showed off her proud curves.

She was not as good-looking as Lei Yan but she could rely on her body.

Fang Fei was very proud of her figure. She had the best one in the entire village; what was more, she had actually chosen to wear a top that accentuated her curves and made her waist look smaller. She didn’t believe that this man who was standing behind Lei Yan would be resistant to her charm.

After all, no man would be able to resist a woman who came to his door. What was more, this man was not bad-looking.

“I—I am willing to do anything. I am really starving and haven’t eaten anything for the past few days.”

After she finished speaking, she didn’t forget to look at Lu Yu with a tearful gaze.

Though she was speaking to Lei Yan, she was looking at Lu Yu, hoping that he would be able to understand what she was trying to tell him.

Lei Yan, who understood what this woman was trying to do, curled her lips and blocked Fang Fei’s sight. She stood in front of Lu Yu and said, “Miss, if you are trying to seduce a man, you should at least take a look at your figure. Do you think that a man would be charmed by these saggy bosom of yours? Where do you get such confidence from, or are you trying to make us sick by displaying such an unsightly sight?”
