Bai Meiyue paced outside, waiting and prepared to fight, but no one stepped out. Seeing this, Bai Meiyue was even more disappointed. She looked at the door like a caged tiger. She was angry, but she had nowhere to take her anger out.

She raised her hand and slammed it against the door again.

“COME OUT AND FIGHT ME, YOU COWARDLY BASTARDS!”

Inside the penthouse, in a small room, Bai Xue was huddled in the corner of her bathing room. Of course she heard Bai Meiyue’s goading words but she didn’t dare to step out. She hugged her knees and buried her face in them.

A chill crept up her spine.

Looking back at today’s incidents, Bai Xue was certain that the survivors would be dissatisfied with her. But she didn’t believe that she did anything wrong. She just wanted everyone to have enough supplies to be full. As long as everyone saved some little supplies and shared with the group of survivors, their survival would be guaranteed. Even her own survival would be guaranteed.

But Bai Meiyue went against her and slapped her on the face by spitting on the rules that she had come up with. That woman disrupted her plan and caused havoc by saying such words; now who would be willing to listen to her?

With these survivors unwilling to listen to her, what would happen now? Wouldn’t her entire house turn upside down because of this mess?

“Xuexue, come out. We have something to talk to you about,” Su Hu knocked on the door and called Bai Xue. The sound of someone knocking on the door echoed inside the small bathing room and Bai Xue got to her feet before walking to the door and swinging it open.

“Brother Hu!” With her eyes red and her face filled with remorse and guilt, Bai Xue threw herself into Su Hu’s arms. She sobbed and said, “Brother Hu, I know that I did something wrong. I shouldn’t have stolen you from Sister Meiyue but I love you so much that I couldn’t resist. But does she have to be so heartless? I did nothing wrong. I just wanted everyone to survive.”

The more she spoke, the more Bai Xue convinced herself and in the end, she completely brainwashed herself into thinking that she did nothing wrong. That she was the victim of this evil and cruel world.

True, she snatched Su Hu from Bai Meiyue but it was that woman’s fault that she couldn’t keep her man. How was it her fault? A woman needs to bend and turn as the man wants her to; Bai Meiyue was too stubborn to do that and lost her man.

Was she the one at fault for that?

At first, Su Hu was too angry and wanted to question Bai Xue about the sudden change in their plan but when he heard Bai Xue say that she loved him and blamed Bai Meiyue for being unkind, he couldn’t help but become dissatisfied with Bai Meiyue.

Bai Xue was right. If the one with the largest amount of supply had helped them, everyone’s survival would have been guaranteed. Bai Meiyue had so many supplies; she just needed to share those supplies with them for a few days. Once Bai Feng returned, they would naturally return these supplies to her.

As for how Bai Feng and Bai Meiyue acquired those supplies, Su Hu defaultedly ignored it.

“AHHH! What is that?”

Someone screamed on the first floor.

The screeching sound was enough to make Bai Xue and Su Hu pale. The two of them rushed downstairs only to see Xiang Mei standing in the middle of the hall; she was holding a green seed in her hand that slowly turned into a sprout. It happened so fast that it made everyone suck in a breath.

For a few seconds, nothing happened but then someone exclaimed, “Is that—is that the supernatural power that others speak of?”

“What!?”

Bai Xue looked at the little sprout in Xiang Mei’s palm and her eyes flashed with imperceptible jealousy, but she still controlled her expression and clapped her hands with a cute expression on her face.

“Sister Mei! This is great; with this superpower, not only will you heal better but you will also become powerful.”

Bai Xue looked at Xiang Mei as if she were looking at a treasure; as long as she had this woman under control, then she would be able to beat Bai Meiyue. Even if she could not beat her now, she would be able to beat her in the future.

She turned to look at Su Hu, who was standing next to her and her eyes flashed with a calculating glint. She said to Su Hu, “Brother Hu, why are you standing here? You should go and help Sister Mei; she just got better. What if she falls and injures her shoulder again?”

Su Hu wanted to refuse; after all, he was not close to Xiang Mei. At most, the two of them were acquaintances but Bai Xue pushed him to help Xiang Mei by making all kinds of excuses and coaxing, making it impossible for the man to refuse.

“Senior Hu,” Xiang Mei, who was supported by Su Hu, was rather touched, and her heart fluttered when she saw the man helping her.

“Easy there,” Su Hu helped the woman to sit on the couch, which was not far from them. However, even though Su Hu was holding the woman in his arms, he kept his distance from her for Bai Xue’s sake.
