Bai Meiyue rolled her eyes and called the system unscrupulous. This snake was not only dangerous; it could kill her in one bite. Which meant that she was almost putting her life on the line for points! And yet the system told her that she would only be given 300 points?

While Bai Meiyue decisively chose to ignore the system, Lei Qian, who was looking for the resources, came looking for her. He heard from Dacheng that Bai Meiyue entered the farmers’ market when he returned with the box of cherries that Bai Meiyue asked him to bring.

“Yueyue—” when Lei Qian found Bai Meiyue, his eyes lit up. He looked at the woman with a small smile on his lips and walked over but when he saw that she was standing right in front of a vat of water, inside of which a large water snake was thrashing, his face turned pale.

He was worried that Bai Meiyue would be startled if he called her all of a sudden; thus, he slowly and carefully rushed towards her, wanting to move her from harm’s way.

Lei Qian thought that the reason Bai Meiyue was not moving was because she was scared stiff by the water snake.

And Lu Yin, who was behind him, thought the same. However, the first thought that came to her mind was not to save Bai Meiyue but to get her killed. If this snake bit her, with the current conditions, she would not be able to get any medical care and die a slow and painful death.

Her lips curled up sinisterly and she clasped her mouth before yelling loudly, “AH, WHAT IS THAT!??”

As soon as Lu Yin’s scream echoed in the silent room, the water snake that was thrashing turned vigilant. It turned to look at Bai Meiyue and sensing it as a threat, it lunged at her with his mouth open wide and fangs spitting venom.

“YUEYUE!”

Lei Qian raised his hand to shoot flames at the snake and burn it to death before it could hurt Bai Meiyue; however, before he could make a move, Bai Meiyue who was standing stiff like a statue, ducked and caught the snake by its tail before slamming it against the wall.

The water snake was smashed to death and Bai Meiyue casually threw it inside her bag before doing the same with the one hiding underneath.

After she placed the snake inside her backpack, she turned to look at Lei Qian and saw him standing behind her with his hands outstretched. “What do you think you are doing?”

“It’s nothing,” Lei Qian dropped his hands and shook his head. He was worried that if he said something wrong, Bai Meiyue would smash his open head just like that.

Seeing his terrified look, Bai Meiyue snorted. She then turned around on her feet and walked past him; however, before leaving, she turned to look at Lu Yin, who had screamed just now.

“Wh—what?” Lu Yin eyed the woman nervously. She screamed because she thought that the water snake would bite this woman to death. But who would have thought that this woman would turn out to be more terrifying than the water snake?

She smashed it to death just like that.

Bai Meiyue snorted. She raised her hand and punched the woman on the nose; there was an ugly crack followed by a painful scream.

“What’s wrong?” Yun Chuan came running when he heard someone scream; however, as soon as he arrived at the small room, he saw Bai Meiyue standing together with Lei Qian, who was looking at Lu Yin.

The little woman was bent double with her hands clutching her nose, which seemed to be broken and bleeding.

“Why are you doing this to me?” Lu Yin asked with a painful grimace. This time around, tears fell from her eyes without her trying to urge them. Bai Meiyue—this ruthless woman, she broke her nose! Without the doctors and medicines, what was she supposed to do now?

“The same reason you screamed just now,” Bai Meiyue sneered. She might have never met Lu Yin in her last life but this woman was following the same route as her dear sister.

She knew and understood the reason for Lu Yin’s sudden scream just now.

As soon as she heard Bai Meiyue’s words, she panicked. However, she still stubbornly said, “I don’t understand what you mean.” After she finished speaking, she didn’t forget to smear Bai Meiyue, “Sister Bai, I know that you are upset with me because of what happened to your brother, but there is no need for you to punish me every time you see me, right?”

“You don’t?” Bai Meiyue was so angry that she laughed. With a scoff, she snapped, “Lu Yin, maybe your brother and your dearest Brother Lei might be willing to believe your nonsense but I don’t dare to trust you. You know that such loud sounds can attract zombies but you still screamed so loudly as if you were watching the murder of your parents.”

“Your eyes are on your face and not on anyone else’s. So how could you not see the sea snake in the vat just now? You might be an idiot but you should at least know that sea snakes are highly dangerous and poisonous. If that thing had bitten me, I would be lying on the floor! Dead and cold.”

“So why did you scream just now? Did you think that your ugly voice would scare off the snake or what?”
