Chapter 285: Why hate them so much ?
Bai Meiyue yawned and said, “She has always been like this; she doesn’t have much ability but wants to climb higher where she will be admired and adored by all. With Bai Qingshi and Chu Xia spoiling her, her personality became even worse. To make matters worse, Bai Feng lets her get away with almost everything. This is why she is simply lawless.”

Bai Feng rushed downstairs when he felt a surge of supernatural energy, but then he heard Bai Meiyue’s voice and was speechless. He didn’t spoil Bai Xue without any limits. But when he thought about the good things that Bai Xue had done in the past few days, he lacked the confidence to say the truth.

When Bai Meiyue saw Bai Feng, she simply glanced at him and looked away. She was not someone who lost her temper without any reason, but sometimes she just couldn’t control her temper. She was annoyed by Bai Feng’s constant spoiling of Bai Xue. She couldn’t understand why this man couldn’t see the reason?

That woman and the rest of her family were clearly using him and yet he was still letting them control his life. It wasn’t that she couldn’t understand it; she just looked down on Bai Feng for his lack of courage in stepping out of his comfort zone.

Was it easy on her? The day when she returned from her past life, she was dragged down by the same troubles and she didn’t even have the barter system to back her up. But she still fought back even though she knew that others would look down on her.

It was problematic but she took the first step and the rest just followed suit, but Bai Feng? Compared to her, he was stronger and even awakened as an ability user, but he still listened to Bai Xue like a blind man.

How could she not look down on him?

She walked away, leaving Bai Feng alone without greeting him. As someone who despised the Bai family and Bai Feng acting like their backer, it was good enough that she didn’t kick him down the stairs just now.

Lei Qian followed after Bai Meiyue. He glanced at Bai Feng, who looked like he wanted to say something but didn’t dare to after seeing the expression on Bai Meiyue’s face. Lei Qian turned his face away and chased after Bai Meiyue without saying anything.

It was only after they were out of earshot did he ask her, “Do you hate the Bai family so much? Is it because of that night—”

Bai Meiyue shook her head and replied, “No. Though I did feel angry when they schemed against me. No one won that night, as I escaped just in time. But of course that doesn’t mean that I don’t hate them. But there are many other reasons that made me hate that family to the core.” They exchanged her son for a few supplies; how could she not hate them?

“How much do you hate them?” Lei Qian sensed that there was something wrong with Bai Meiyue when she talked about the Bai family. Her rage was not calm but filled with chaos, which made him wonder what kind of sins the Bai family had committed against her?

Bai Meiyue sneered coldly. “Enough to watch them die.”

She was not lying; she truly wanted to see each and every member of that family die a horrible death, including Su Hu and Jiang Zeming. If she didn’t kill them, then Bai Meiyue would be worried that she had let her son down. Even if she was back, it didn’t mean that her son didn’t suffer that agony or that she didn’t lose her mind looking for him.

When Lei Qian heard her response, he paused and stared at her as if he was seeing her for the first time.

Seeing his reaction, Bai Meiyue curled her lips and stated in a cold voice, “Whats wrong? Do you think I am too cold and ruthless?”

“No, its just that I never thought—”

“You never thought that I could be this cruel, right?” Bai Meiyue asked with a cold smile. “Lei Qian, people change and so did I.” She paused and then added, “I have been seriously thinking about what you said to me; though I do not understand your train of thought, I still think you are sincere. But the world is coming to an end, and we don’t have the time to get involved in emotional entanglement. You are right, our goals are different. I just want to live a peaceful life and keep my family safe. But you, on the other hand, plan to rise to the top such that you can bring your cousin down. I have no plans to get involved in your family strife, and neither do I want to waste your feelings or time.”

She paused and added, “If you want, then I can return the supplies that you have given me and we can act as strangers from now on.”

Bai Meiyue was a straightforward person, but at the same time, her thought process was a bit complicated and it was hard for her to untangle the knot in her heart. Though she knew that it was not right for her to blame Lei Qian for choosing someone else in her past life when he didn’t even know who was the woman who slept with him—she still couldn’t let go of the fact that he chose someone else.

She knew that it was hard for her to change her mind, and she didn’t want to use Lei Qian for her own benefits; thus, she cleared her stance once again. Bai Meiyue had no idea if she would ever be able to let go of the knot in her heart.
