Zhou Hongbei was speechless when he saw the actions of those people. He knew that there would be trouble the second he saw that these people had come looking for him and Shen Zhen. But he never thought that they would dare to cause such a big trouble for them.

He looked at the big bags that were filled to the brim with child clothes and toys along with baby supplies and had no idea what to do with them. They were indeed useful for them but if he was to accept them, what would he tell Bai Meiyue? Would he not become a traitor in her eyes?

Even Shen Zhen was having a headache as she looked at the supplies in the shopping bags. She could not understand what Bai Feng was trying to do. If she was to say that the man wanted to get along with Bai Meiyue, that would be wrong. After all, if Bai Feng cared about Bai Meiyue so much, then he wouldn’t have supported the Bai family when he knew that she didn’t like that family.

But if she was to say that the man didn’t care about Bai Meiyue then that would be wrong as well because Bai Feng did care about Bai Meiyue. If not, he wouldn’t have supported her in such a manner.

Their relationship was complicated and Shen Zhen had no idea how to deal with this matter.

She blinked her eyes and then said to Bai Meiyue, “Sister Meiyue, don’t think too much. We did try to refuse them but they didn’t listen to us.”

“I know.” Bai Meiyue pushed herself off the wall and then walked over to where the pile of clothes and toys was lying before saying to them, “There is no need to worry about such things so much. Since they gave it to you, then keep it, anyway, even if you refuse to take them; these things can only be thrown out.”

They were the only ones who had children and babies under their roof. If these things were left here, then they would be thrown out.

Why waste the resources when there were limited supplies to begin with?

“But—”

Shen Zhen looked at Bai Meiyue with a worried look, which amused her.

She said to her, “If you are worried about taking things for free you can simply send some crystal nuclei to Brother Feng.”

Bai Meiyue wanted to send some meat and vegetables but then she changed her mind. If she were to send those things, most of it would be eaten by Bai Xue and her family. Thus, she changed her mind and decided to send the crystal nuclei; after all, these things could only be used by Bai Feng and no one else.

Since he was an ability user, those crystal nuclei would come in handy for him. But if she was to send anything else, then it would certainly benefit those cruel beasts.

She couldn’t do that even if she wanted to maintain a superficial relationship with Bai Feng. however, Bai Meiyue didn’t want to ignore Bai Feng either. “Then we will bring it inside,” Shen Zhen said to Bai Meiyue. She had already told them that there was nothing wrong with taking Bai Feng’s things, so there was no need to hold back.

Bai Meiyue hummed.

She turned around just in time to see Lei Qian. The man was dressed in a loose beige sweater and black sweatpants. From the looks of it, he just woke up and came out to see her.

Bai Meiyue arched a brow before turning around on her feet and heading inside the house. She didn’t want to get entangle with Lei Qian so early in the morning. But just because she had no intention to quibble with him didn’t mean that Lei Qian too didn’t want to speak with her.

Not only did he chase after her, he even followed her inside the house as if he lived there. Seeing how careless he was about entering and leaving someone’s house, Bai Meiyue was speechless. This man didn’t take himself as a guest, did he?
