Chapter 403: Aren’t You Funny ?
Bai Meiyue knew just how strong the temptation of the military benefits was. In her past life, the second this scheme came into motion, everyone started to jump on the bandwagon that the military began without even thinking about why the army would start such a scheme. What good would it do to them to hand so many supplies to the families of the ability users?

It was not until many ability users died after being overworked and the families of those ability users were kicked out of the base that they realised what kind of trap was set in front of them, and they fell right into it. After that, many of the families that were kicked out caused a big fuss but by then the base had sucked the blood of the ability users and had become so strong that the higher-ups didn’t care about anyone.

And with the ability users who were brainwashed into doing their bidding didn’t have to fear anything or anyone. Those ability users were brainwashed to the point that they would rather die than let the base face any kind of harm.

Bai Meiyue turned to look at the dissatisfied look on the faces of Wan Guofu and the others, which showed that they were not happy with Dacheng and Lu Yin.

“Did you sign the same document as this one?” Mo He asked with a wicked glint in his eyes.

“Pft. Of course not.” Lu Yin did not realise the reason why Mo He asked her such a question. She thought that the man was looking down at her and was considering her to be in the same league as him and the others when she was definitely in a situation better than theirs. “We are special recruits. How can we sign the same document as you?”

As soon as she finished speaking, everyone’s expression changed. It was bad enough that they had no good impression when it came to Dacheng and Lu Yin. And now that they knew that these two had signed a separate document and yet brought a completely different one for them, they looked down on Dacheng and Lu Yin even more.

“Then you are making us sign a contract whose terms and conditions are not clear?” Yang Chunhua walked over. Not being able to resist any further, she crossed her arms and glared at Dacheng and Lu Yin. “You two should get lost before we kick you out.”

Dacheng’s image was bad to begin with in her eyes, and Lu Yin, who had caused Bai Jixuan to almost die, didn’t have a good image either. Now that the two of them had joined the military and were doing the bidding of those who had once locked up Liu Mei and Liu Che; no one had a good impression of these two.

It wasn’t only Bai Meiyue who had a bad impression of these two; everyone else in the team had the same impression as her. It was not their fault, as neither Dacheng nor Lu Yin had been kind towards them.

Since they knew that there was no way Dacheng and Lu Yin were here out of goodwill, why would they sign the documents that they were handing them?

But it was impossible for Lu Yin or Dacheng to think things so thoroughly; in their eyes, they thought that it was due to Lei Qian that Wan Guofu and the rest were not accepting the order. With Bai Meiyue’s presence, they must be finding it hard to accept the order, as she had refused to accept it. Dacheng was sure that as long as Lei Qian found out the truth, he would definitely follow them with his team.

Dacheng thus didn’t care about their refusal; he was sure that once the cat was out of the bag, they would definitely become obedient.

He then turned to look at Bai Meiyue and questioned, “We saw the hospital that you made on the third floor. It seems like you are getting busier with each passing day. Are you sure that you can handle so much work?”

Though he didn’t say anything explicitly, he did glance at Bai Meiyue’s abdomen to show that he knew what was going on and what she was hiding.

Bai Meiyue shrugged and casually said, “It is fine; there is not much for me to do.”

She was being honest, as she truly had nothing to do. With Shen Zhen and everyone taking care of the hospital supplies, Bai Meiyue only needed to worry about collecting the crystal nuclei. As long as she sent enough water and food supplies, no one cared about whether she was helping them out in collecting supplies or not.

Since she didn’t have to worry about anything, why should she bother about what was going on with the hospital?

“Oh?” Dacheng raised his brow meaningfully. However, he too didn’t care about the hospital, as he knew that Bai Meiyue was only building one because she would need it in the future. He then turned to look at her again and questioned, “Why did you let Master Lei Qian go alone? You should have gone with him; that way his safety will be ensured.” he paused and added, “Oh, I forgot. You would find it hard now, right?” as he finished speaking, he glanced at Bai Meiyue’s lower abdomen.

As soon as he finished speaking, Bai Meiyue’s face turned cold, and so did Bai Jixuan, who had stepped into the corridor with the crystal nuclei that he brought with him.

“You bastard—after being gone for so long, what nonsense are you spouting?” Bai Jixuan strode towards where Dacheng was standing. He would have pounced on the man if not for the fact that Bai Zhan had pulled him back.

Dacheng, however, didn’t seem to be bothered. He raised a shoulder and said to Bai Jixuan, “You should ask this question to your sister. I believe that she will be able to answer this question.” He turned to look at Bai Meiyue whose face was colder than the ice that she created with a flick of her hands.
