Chapter 57: Unconscious Lei Qian.
Meng Qibao didn’t want to follow Meng Anzhi but under the glare of his sister, he could only follow Meng Anzhi to the parking lot.
Once her siblings left, Meng Suisui turned to look at Bai Meiyue and said to her, “Are you alright?”
“I am fine,” Bai Meiyue took off the iron knuckles and put them back in the pockets of her coat. She ignored the way Meng Suisui frowned at the sight of blood on her clothes and hands before asking, “How is Chen Yuya?”
“She is doing alright,” Meng Suisui thought of how Chen Yuya was visiting Su Hu and Bai Xue in prison every day. Though she still claimed that she was hurt and her injuries hadn’t healed, Meng Suisui knew that Chen Yuya had gotten better ages ago.
“Is she?” Bai Meiyue curled her lips. The city was about to drown in a few days; she didn’t want that woman to have an easy time while hiding in the hospital.
With that thought in her head, Bai Meiyue’s mood turned even better as she questioned, “I believe that Chen Yuya is bringing meals to the two of them?”
“Yes, she is. But how do you know that?”
How did she know that? Haha, it was all due to the experience that she had gone through in her past life. Bai Xue was Bai Qingshi’s daughter, and on top of that, half of her blood was of a woman like Chu Xia.
Her skills in manipulating and brainwashing a person were even better than Bai Qingshi’s.
Bai Xue had fed this nonsense of being closer than sisters in Chen Yuya’s head, and on top of that, she even manipulated Chen Yuya into believing that she needed to treat Su Hu better because he was going to be her brother-in-law one day.
That stupid woman didn’t even realise that the reason why she treated Su Hu so well was because she liked him.
Bai Xue was that good!
In the past, Bai Meiyue had watched Chen Yuya hand over her resources to Bai Xue every time that woman acted pitiful in front of her. Chen Yuya, this idiot, didn’t even realise that in Bai Xue’s eyes she was no better than Bai Meiyue. If she treated her so well, why would Bai Xue let Chen Yuya sell her body while she herself remained chaste and earned the protection of so many men?
“Is something the matter?” Meng Suisui had a feeling that Bai Meiyue was happy but why would she feel happy over the fact that Chen Yuya was bringing food to Bai Xue and Su Hu?
“Nothing,” Bai Meiyue snapped out of her thoughts. She was indeed happy; she was so happy that she wished she could tell Chen Yuya to bring more food to Bai Xue and Su Hu.
If she didn’t use all her groceries on those two, how would Bai Meiyue see the pathetic state of Chen Yuya?
She glanced at Meng Suisui and recalled how this woman had asked her to run away just now. Bai Meiyue had always been one to repay the favour, thus she kindly reminded Meng Suisui, “Stock as much food as you can in the next few days and keep an eye on that idiot cousin of yours. Don’t let her take advantage of you.”
Her voice turned stern as she warned Meng Suisui, “If you don’t, then the one who will regret it will be you.”
“Miss Bai, do you know something?” Though Meng Suisui didn’t want to believe that things were going to go downhill, she had a feeling that something big was about to happen. Because—this rain, it didn’t seem to be normal!
Bai Meiyue didn’t explain; she simply smiled at Meng Suisui meaningfully and turned on her feet and walked away.
Meng Suisui looked at Bai Meiyue, who was walking away. The slender back was thin and looked weak but at the same time, Meng Suisui didn’t know why but she felt her anxious heart calm down a little after talking with Bai Meiyue.
Though she was slightly confused in her heart, she knew that Bai Meiyue would not do anything to harm her. She might be dangerous but Bai Meiyue didn’t seem to hold any malice towards her. It was clear from the fact that Bai Meiyue saved her and her siblings’ lives when she could have easily run away on her own. She was fully capable of doing so!
Bai Meiyue returned home after she was done with her shopping. As soon as she stepped inside, she found her second brother fuming with anger.
“What’s wrong?” she asked as Bai Meiyue stepped inside the house after taking off her shoes.
“Yueyue, you are back?” Mother Bai turned to look at her daughter and sighed with relief. “Its nothing,” she peeked at her son, whose face was twisted with anger and then replied to Bai Meiyue, “Your brother saw Xiao Qian return just a few minutes ago but when he went to talk with him, he was shut out by Lei Qian’s assistant, who said that Xiao Qian is gravely injured.”
When Bai Meiyue heard that Lei Qian was gravely injured, she arched a brow. She wasn’t actually surprised that the man was injured, as she knew what kind of dangers Lei Qian must have faced to get out of the city cloud.
However, at the same time, she was quite impressed by Lei Qian.It hadn’t been less than a few hours and that man was already back. No wonder he became the strongest supernatural in the post-apocalyptic world.
While Bai Meiyue was lost in her thoughts, Mother Bai turned to look at her second son before saying to him, “Xiao Qian might really be injured. Why do you believe that he is lying?”
“Because that man is a lying, thieving bastard!” Bai Jixuan snapped. “What injured? He is clearly trying to avoid responsibility. Now that he knows that we are already aware of what kind of shit he has stirred, he is trying to avoid us.”

Bai Jixuan didn’t see Lei Qian; all he saw was the back of Lu Yu and before he could rush inside Lei Qian’s penthouse and demand that he take responsibility for his sister, he was kicked out by Lu Yu, who told him that Lei Qian was ‘gravely injured.’
Like hell he was!
