Chapter 65: Ruthless

Bai Zhan then raised his head and looked at Bai Meiyue before saying to her, “The situation outside seems chaotic; you should stay at home, Yueyue.”

“Of course,” Bai Meiyue agreed. There was no need for her to worry about going out for the time being, because in a few days the entire city was going to be flooded due to the sudden tsunami for which no one had prepared.

And when that happens, the entire world was going to shift.

The sound of the doorbell echoed in the penthouse and just as Bai Meiyue got to her feet and walked over to the security camera, she heard a voice coming from the intercom.

“Miss Bai, I am the property manager. Manager Ni, is it convenient for you to open the door?”

Bai Meiyue frowned and looked at the greasy face that was staring up at the camera and turned on her feet without saying anything. She was not going to open the door. If he was smart, then Manager Ni would turn around and leave.

To think that this man actually used the universal pass lock to open the door that separated her corridor from the other two.

Bai Meiyue, of course, was not surprised. She knew that even if she came up with all kinds of security precautions, there would be someone who would cause trouble for her. If not for the fact that this building had the strongest chance against the tsunami, she would have never come here and would have chosen to buy a mansion!

“Miss Bai, I know that it will trouble you and your family but you should at least allow them to stay with them for a few days. We can’t leave these people alone, can we? They are so pitiful.”

However, when Bai Meiyue did not open the door, the rest of the residents who were standing behind Manager Ni tried to morally kidnap Bai Meiyue.

“Why are you being so heartless? We are willing to pay you. If that’s what you want.”

“Just open the door and let us in; we are hungry and cold. Are you going to watch us die in front of your house?”

“Do we need to kneel and beg you now? Is that what you want!?”

“You have such a bad heart; there are elderly people dying here and you are refusing to open the door!”

Bai Meiyue sneered.

Elderly? Hah, if they were really elders, then they would have thought of a way to survive on their own instead of trying to force a junior like her. And as for money? Bai Meiyue knew very well what kind of money they were going to pay her.

They were talking about the original price before the inflation!

Since that was the case, then they might as well not blame her!

A fat man who was standing behind the crowd pushed the ones in the front and then snapped angrily, “Why are you being so polite with her? Just break open the door; I will see how she will stop us when we break in—ARGHHHH!”

Just as he reached out to touch the handle of the door, an electric shock that made his head buzz and his entire body freeze shot through the handle. A second later, the man was thrown back in the air and smashed against the wall.

The chattering crowd suddenly fell silent when they saw the condition of the man who was twitching on the floor.

“Husband!”

Bai Meiyue, who was standing on the other side of the door, pressed the response button and stated in a cold voice, “My life was ruined by my father and I was bullied by a man. My mind is unstable and I am really upset because of what happened to me. If you dare to bother me, then I don’t know what I might do!”

“I see every man as a culprit who wants to ruin me and I might go crazy and kill you.”

“This penthouse was something that I purchased after paying the full amount. If you dare to break in, then I promise that I will kill you all and bury you in the storeroom. I fear no one! I even have a certificate to prove that I am not well; even if I kill someone, none of you will be able to do anything.”

For a time, no one spoke and stared at the door, which was still buzzing with electricity.

Then someone in the back remarked, “Shall we try 5501?”

No sooner did he finish speaking than the intercom of the apartment not far from Bai Meiyue’s apartment buzzed and then, “Sure but we have a flu patient. The same flu had caused an explosion in the hospitals. That’s the only room empty. If you dare to sleep with the flu patient, then you might as well come inside!”

The crowd of people turned silent. They dared not take the risk; after all, they had all seen the Lei family carrying Lei Qiang, who was unconscious; thus, they knew that the Lei family might not be lying!

“Crazy! These two families are crazy!” someone in the crowd muttered before turning around and running away. One of them electrocuted them and the other one wanted to lock them up with the deadly flu patient! They were too much!
