Chapter 82: Bai Feng

On the other hand, Bai Meiyue had no idea that Lu Yin had misunderstood the Lei family because of her. She was sitting crossed-legged in her room after clearing up most of the moss and fishy scent. She absorbed the water elements from the entire house and sent them into the ability core. After practicing for a month, she had finally gotten the hang of absorbing the water essence without using water as a medium.

She was now on the verge of breaking through level 2 and she was close to finding out more about the other ability of hers.

It was an ice-type ability but because she had trained for a long time and even used many pills from the cultivation world, it had mutated, allowing Bai Meiyue to create mists that could create illusions and with the water-type ability connected to it, she could actually change her appearance to someone else’s.

Of course, as the ability was still at a low level, Bai Meiyue could not hold on to the appearance of another person for more than two minutes but it was enough!

Her eyes flashed ruthlessly when she thought about a few people that she wanted to take care of. And she was going to start with Chen Yuya; since that woman liked Su Hu so much, she would see how much Chen Yuya would like to die in his hands.

However, while she was planning how to take down Chen Yuya, the doorbell rang once again. She thought that it was Lei Yan once again but then her hearing senses detected a familiar voice and her eyes turned cold. She immediately got to her feet and walked out of the room before heading downstairs.

“Yueyue,”

Bai Feng called Bai Meiyue and heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that she was doing alright. When he arrived at the building, he went to Manager Ni and wanted to rent out the last penthouse but he heard from Manager Ni that it was already bought by someone.

And while he was conversing with the man, he found out that the family who took the last penthouse was surnamed Bai and came to check whether it was really Bai Meiyue or someone else.

At least his gamble paid off.

“Brother Feng,” Bai Meiyue greeted the tall man who was dressed in a casual suit. She looked at him with a complicated gaze. She did hate the Bai family but she pitied Bai Feng just as she pitied her past self. The two of them were the children of the Bai family but because Chu Xia was really good at pillow talk, Bai Qingshi only trusted and treated Bai Xue well, while the two of them were brainwashed by Chu Xia and Bai Qingshi to become foolishly filial.

The only difference was that she at least got a second chance to change her life but Bai Feng didn’t; he was still as foolishly filial as he was in the past.

She could only hope that this time around Bai Feng wouldn’t die in the hands of the Bai family. After all, he had once saved her life and she hadn’t forgotten his grace.

“I am glad that you are doing alright.” Bai Feng raised his hand and patted Bai Meiyue on the head. “I was really worried that after the tsunami, you—” he stopped himself in time and then asked with a tentative voice, “How are you doing?”

“What do you think?” She curled her lips mockingly and stated, “I was sold at the age of eighteen and sent in the bed of an investor by my own father. I didn’t even know about the things between man and woman properly, Brother Feng. And I was treated in such a way. How do you think I am doing now? Do you even know how scary that night was for me?”

Though Bai Meiyue did not remember the incidents of that night, she was indeed quite scared when she thought that it was the investor whom her father had chosen for her. It was only when Bai Meiyue woke up and saw a young man beside her that she felt a bit relieved.

At least her first time was not taken away by an old man who was the age of her father.

However, the entire night when she was not awake, Bai Meiyue was indeed filled with terror.

Of course, she was not telling this to Bai Feng because she wanted him to sympathise with her. She was long past the time where she wanted people to pity her and leave her alone.

The reason she was telling Bai Feng these things was because she knew that this man was the backer of the Bai family.

While most of the Bai family remained ordinary with only a few awakenings. They never awakened into anything special, like Bai Qingshi. He awakened as a level 1 wind user.

He could only do small things like cleaning a room or picking up a small stone. Other than that, he was completely useless.

As for Chu Xia, that woman awakened as a low-grade earth user. She could at most create small bumps in the earth, which was not really helpful.

As for Su Hu and Bai Xue, they did not awaken at all. Though she did hear later on that Bai Xue was showing signs of awakening, Bai Meiyue was not interested. Instead, she killed that woman before she could awaken.

Now that she was going to do it all over again, she had the same plan as well.

In her past life, Bai Feng died early but he still helped the Bai family live and fended after them. He even took care of her and told her that there was no point in hanging on to the past and she needed to move forward.

Because Bai Feng died early, he did not seek revenge and couldn’t do anything to Bai Meiyue.

But in this life, if she was to make a move against the Bai family, she was sure that Bai Feng would stop her and preach to her with the same words.
