Chapter 84: Killing Chen Yuya

“Yueyue?” Mother Bai looked at her daughter with concern and heartache. First she felt like she had underestimated Bai Meiyue’s sufferings and at the same time she also felt as if she was useless. That Bai Qingshi was the cause of her daughter’s sufferings, and yet he somehow managed to escape the prison with the help of Bai Feng.

Naturally, her daughter must be upset.

“I am fine, mother.” Bai Meiyue smiled at her mother and shook her head. Was she upset that the Bai family was finally out of prison? No. Those people must be relieved that they are now no longer trapped in the small prison cell but soon they would realise that dying in the cell would have been a better option!

When she thought about how Bai Qingshi and his family, especially Bai Xue, would have to live a life full of discomfort and suffering, her lips curled into a cold and cruel smile.

Welcome to the apocalypse.

She turned to look at her mother, whose eyes were filled with worry, when she saw her daughter smiling in such a scary manner. She wanted to say something but feared that her daughter would find her annoying so she could only swallow her words.

“Mom, I will be stepping out of the apartment for a while,” Bai Meiyue told her mother. Now that she knew Chen Yuya was being admitted to the hospital, how could she leave this opportunity?

Most probably that woman was bitten by the mutant rat when she was going to see Su Hu these past few days. If that was the case, then Bai Meiyue really wanted to see the sorry state Chen Yuya was in at the moment after giving Bai Xue and Su Hu the entire stock of supplies that she had in her hands.

When Mother Bai heard Bai Meiyue’s words, she became hesitant. She was really worried and wondered if it was okay for Bai Meiyue to step out of the penthouse. She didn’t know what kind of mental state Bai Meiyue was in at the moment after listening to the nonsense that Bai Feng said to her.

However, Bai Meiyue knew that she had to go out no matter what. The opportunity to kill one of the culprits of her son’s death was right in front of her; there was no way she was going to let Chen Yuya escape.

Even as a zombie, her head had to roll off after being cut off by her dagger! She thought of Chen Yuya’s stubborn mother and her lips curled into a cold smile. She convinced her mother and then walked out of the penthouse before heading downstairs.

She did not see the Fang family; most probably they hid somewhere after hearing the official alert by the government.

Though it had been days, some of the people still remembered the great things that Bai Meiyue had done; thus, they immediately stepped to one side when they saw her coming downstairs.

Bai Meiyue smirked coldly when she saw their actions. Sure enough, even though the world was coming to an end, it was still the same: people feared the strong and bullied the weak.

She calmly climbed down the stairs and then took out her inflatable rubber boat. Even though she bought a motorboat, she did not want to take it out in front of these people.

Instead, she used the inflatable motor boat to get away from the building and it was only when she was sure that no one would catch her that she took out the motor boat that she had purchased, thinking it would come in handy. A good thing too or else she would have to row the boat to the hospital.

Bai Meiyue soon arrived at the hospital; however, as soon as she arrived at the large building, she found a bunch of people sitting in the corridor with a dead look in their eyes. It was the kind of look that showed that they had given up on life altogether.

Bai Meiyue narrowed her eyes as she looked at the countless black heads that were filling the corridor and carefully put away her motorboat. She didn’t want to get entangled in unnecessary trouble.

Bai Meiyue wanted to first take a look at the gynaecology section but as soon as she stepped inside the hospital, she saw that the entire room had been taken over by the refugees and there was no one inside the room.

Though Bai Meiyue expected something like this, she could not help but feel disappointed.

She turned on her feet and headed to the section where the people who caught the virus were quarantined. If she was not wrong, then Chen Yuya must be in this room as well, right? She walked to an empty corridor where no one was sitting, most probably because it was where the mortuary was and used her ability to change into Su Hu.

Once her appearance changed, she rushed towards the quarantined room.

She took out the dagger that she was carrying in her hands and barged inside the room, just in time to see a doctor falling down on the floor.

The man’s neck was bleeding and he was clutching the side of his neck with a terrified look in his eyes. The rest of the people in the ward were also scared; they looked at the doctor and then at the woman who had bitten a chunk out of the doctor’s neck and got to their feet stiffly.

With their dark eyes and blue skin, Bai Meiyue didn’t even need to use her toes to know that these people were affected by the doomsday virus; there was no point in saving them, however, she did not waste her time instead she turned to look at the woman who was dressed in a hospital gown and was munching on the flesh that she had torn off the neck of the doctor.

Her blue face was thin and gaunt; she moved left and right with uncoordinated movements with blood splattered on her clothes.

And when she opened her mouth, the only words that came out of her mouth were, “Hoho..hoho..hohoho…”
