Chapter 90: Admit defeat

Before the scarred man could finish speaking, Bai Meiyue charged at him and punched him in the face.

Everything happened so fast that no one had the time to stop her.

“Why don’t you stand up and see how strong I am?” Bai Meiyue remarked as she created a water shield around the inside of her belly that would protect Bai Cai. Even though she was enraged by the words that Xiao Wu said, she was not angry to the point where she would forget to care about her precious son.

“Young lady is really strong,” sneered Xiao Wu as he got to his feet and wiped the blood off his lips. He looked at the woman in front of him and stated in a cold voice, “But don’t get happy so soon. You were just lucky right now because I was not prepared.”

Bai Meiyue curled her lips in disdain and stated, “Then I will give you enough time to be prepared. Come at me when you are ready.”

No man would be able to withstand the look of sheer condemnation that Bai Meiyue shot Xiao Wu. The scarred man roared in anger and charged at Bai Meiyue; he caught her by her arms and tried to throw her down.

But Bai Meiyue was faster; she steadily twisted her form and landed without a single injury on her body.

She then twisted her body causing the scarred man to kneel on the floor. Xiao Wu realised what the woman was trying to do and tried to get up but as soon as he tried to stand up, Bai Meiyue kicked him on the back of his knees.

Just as the man fell on the floor, Bai Meiyue stepped forward and placed her knee on the back of the man’s neck. She took out the dagger from the back of her pants’ pockets and then placed it against the forehead of the man.

The tip of the dagger was almost forced into his skin.

“The next time you see a weak-looking woman, you either help her or respect her. Don’t you ever spout the nonsense you spat in front of me.” Bai Meiyue threatened the man.

Xiao Wu was, however, not willing to oblige and even felt somewhat dissatisfied. He said to her, “You are cheating. You actually used a weapon in a fair fight. This is not right.”

As soon as he finished speaking, Bai Meiyue’s hand moved and a cut formed right above the eye of the man. Fresh blood oozed out of his skin and Bai Meiyue sneered.

“Then do you think that a six-foot-tall man fighting with a woman half his age is fair?” She didn’t think that there was anything wrong with what she was doing, as she skimmed the tip of the dagger until it was hovering right over the eye of the man. “You take advantage of whatever you can and I will take advantage of whatever I can. It’s fine as long as one of us dies.”

As soon as she finished speaking, the man suddenly felt his entire body stiffen.

He knew that if he did not back down, this woman would really stab him in the eye. To think that there was a woman more ruthless than a man.

“I admit defeat; please let me go.”

Xie Yi, who was watching the fight on the side, heaved a sigh of relief when he saw that Xiao Wu had lowered his hands in surrender. For a second he thought that he was going to lose another one of his underlings today.

Though they were not closely tied, Xiao Wu was still his good brother, and the two of them had gone through a lot of troubles together. He did not want to lose a good underling just for a small matter like this.

He was really afraid that Boss Bai would kill Xiao Wu for his dirty mouth.

With a sharp inhale, he walked over to where Xiao Wu was lying and threw a handkerchief at him. “Go ahead and wipe that blood. Don’t run your mouth all the time or else you will someday end up getting that vulgar mouth of yours torn.”

Xiao Wu did not say anything; he simply snorted and lowered his head without apologising to Bai Meiyue.

Bai Meiyue did not bother with him either. She was here to get her hands on the weapons and the rare supplies. She had no intentions of befriending these thugs.

Xie Yi helplessly looked at Xiao Wu before taking out the map of the factory where the goods were supposed to be delivered.

He spread it on the wooden box and then explained, “There are more than five escape routes in this factory, Boss. I have already delivered the last supply of weapons there so I know that there are at least four to six guards on each exit.”

“They all have guns in their hands. With the current situation, I don’t know how many of them are still humans and how many of them have turned into ghouls.”

“The east and west exits are not as heavily guarded as they are farthest from the main building where the supplies are kept. We can—”

“I will be going alone.” Thinking about the invisibility talisman and space pocket, Bai Meiyue decided that it would be easier for her to go in alone. She was also used to doing things alone rather than relying on others. Since that was the case, then she might as well deal with it on her own.

“You are going alone?” Xie Yi was stunned when he heard the woman’s words in front of him. He knew that she was skilled but he never thought that she was this skilled; she actually had the confidence to take down thirty or so men on her own?

“I am used to operating alone,” Bai Meiyue made a random excuse when she saw the man staring at her with a shocked expression. “What’s more, if we all barge inside the factory, it will only alert the enemy. So you need to take me inside the warehouse and leave the rest of the matters in my hands.”
