Chapter 146: Explosive Heat
On the player forum:
As the game had just launched, various new posts were rapidly refreshing on the player forum.
Player Rachel logged onto the player forum out of boredom, scrolling through posts while waiting for her resurrection timer to expire.
As for why she had died so quickly, it was simply because she had tried bungee jumping without safety measures in this world, just for the thrill.
“It feels so real! It’s just like the real thing! Thumbs up!”
“It’s indeed realistic. I was killed by a wild boar just now.”
“Where are you all born? How come I was born in a small village and haven’t seen any other players after wandering around for so long???”
Rachel noticed many large gaming clubs posting announcements about joining the “God’s Apocalypse” game.
Among them, the top four gaming clubs in Miradia—Frostbite, Astral Ascendancy, Crimson Shadow, and Ember Alliance—had almost simultaneously released statements of their participation in the game upon its launch. As for other second-tier clubs and gaming guilds, there were even more.
Rachel paid special attention to the fact that all the star professional players from these guilds had also announced their entry into the “God’s Apocalypse” game. They had practically abandoned all their accumulated achievements in previous games.
It was worth noting that these star professional players excelled in different games, but without exception, they all chose to start anew in the “God’s Apocalypse” game. This showed their determination and confidence in the game.
Almost all gaming clubs and professional players, after trying out the “God’s Apocalypse” game, were convinced that this was a groundbreaking hit game.
The online buzz reflected this sentiment. When the first batch of players confirmed that the game’s quality was top-notch, even surpassing everyone’s expectations, the enthusiasm of all players was ignited by the screenshots released by the first batch of players and the live broadcasts of various major streamers. Discussions and activity levels online reached a phenomenon-level status, and the influence of the “God’s Apocalypse” game soared geometrically.
Rachel even saw a promotional video jointly recorded by the top ten influential professional players in Miradia, including Frostbite, Astral Ascendancy, Crimson Shadow, and Ember Alliance. They were boosting morale and preparing for the global events of the “God’s Apocalypse” game. Among them was an interview with John Star, Rachel’s favorite professional player.
Watching the ambitious declarations of these professional players, Rachel felt a surge of excitement.
This was something quite impressive. Almost all the renowned professional players had been rounded up. In the past, fans of various stars would argue over whose skills were better or whose game sense was stronger, but there was no way to compare when they were all playing different games.
But now, they had all gathered in the “God’s Apocalypse” game. This time, they could finally settle it once and for all.
As a fun-loving person, Rachel was delighted. After all, she didn’t care if John Star lost. Enjoying the spectacle was what mattered most.
Rachel was a small-time streamer, but as a rich woman, she didn’t rely on this for a living. She just livestreamed herself playing games at home out of boredom, with hardly any viewers in her channel.
This was also why Rachel didn’t want to show her face during livestreams. With her fair skin, beautiful looks, and long legs, she shouldn’t have ended up being so unpopular.
She missed out on getting a game helmet this time, but luckily, she had acted quickly and managed to buy one from someone else for fifteen thousand coins.
“Oh, what’s the hurry? I’m just browsing the forum.”
“If you hadn’t persuaded me to go bungee jumping just now, I wouldn’t have been waiting for respawn all this time.”
The game helmet could connect to streaming software. Just now, Rachel had been livestreaming the launch of the “God’s Apocalypse” game.
Now, however, Rachel felt a little regretful. It wasn’t because she had wasted a life in-game, but because she hadn’t expected the respawn time to be half an hour. Wouldn’t it be better to explore the game world with that time?
At this moment, a few sporadic barrages of bullet comments drifted through the chat.
“Can’t blame us, the streamer brought it upon herself!”
“Miss Rachel must be really beautiful in real life. This modeling is amazing; I’m in love!”
“Something’s fishy, guys. I bet this model streamer sculpted herself. She must be a knockout!”

“prprpr”
Ignoring these bullet comments, Rachel checked her respawn time and saw she still had ten minutes left. She could only continue browsing the player forum with resignation, cheerfully reading about other players’ daring adventures.
Before long, a post quickly rose to the top of the trending list.
“Shocking! The first Silver-tier mission on the server turned out like this!”
What a clickbait title. Let’s see what’s going on.
Despite condemning the unscrupulous clickbait, Rachel’s body dutifully clicked on the post.

Everyone, can you believe it?
My friend and I were born in Canlight City in the kingdom of Fis, and we were about to head to the Mercenary Guild following the official guide when we came across a recruitment notice from a guild called White Dove Chamber of Commerce.
Out of curiosity, we took a look, and then we were recruited.
But it seems to be just a membership, nothing too restrictive, and the perks are pretty good.
Of course, that’s not the point!
The most important thing is that there’s an NPC named William Cain (NPC image: screenshot of William’s character), dressed in luxurious equipment, and almost all the information detected about him is question marks, except for his talents and extremely dangerous warnings (lol!).
I guess this should be the first high-level mission appearing in front of us players, quite mysterious.
I’m not too sure about his other identities, but he’s probably the boss of the White Dove Chamber of Commerce (Image: screenshot of the White Dove Chamber of Commerce storefront).
And then he gave us a Silver-tier mission (Image: mission screenshot), I swear by my little brother, it’s definitely real.
As for this NPC William Cain, I have a few speculations:
1. He’s definitely a high-level NPC, his talents are legendary (Screenshot: information panel screenshot);
2. He might be an important character in the main storyline. We can learn various profession skills from him in advance, what’s outrageous is that he can currently teach skills from four different professions (Screenshot: skill learning panel screenshot, secret shop screenshot);
3. He’s a golden thigh; two players have already received rewards early because they buttered him up. So envious! o(╥﹏╥)o
PS. This high-level character should still be at the White Dove Chamber of Commerce in Gedo Street, Canlight City. Brothers who want to take on the Silver-tier mission can give it a try, but I think although the rewards are generous, the difficulty must be high, and the rewards you get may not be many.

Rachel checked, and there were several similar posts, but this one had the most detailed records and comprehensive screenshots.
The comment section below the post was even more lively!
“Is this triggering a hidden plotline?”
“Oh my, so envious. I don’t even have a place to learn skills in my little village. The only task I can get is farming for the villagers.”
“This White Dove Chamber of Commerce is really not bad, they even provide food and accommodation!”
“This NPC is called William? I was thinking more along the lines of Arthur!”
