Chapter 99: What! Your Disciple’s Name is Also William?
On the same day that William went to the Carl family.
Fis Royal Academy of Magic.
Today, Josef was in a good mood, or rather, he had been in a good mood for the past few days.
After all, suddenly receiving such an outstanding student like William, who wouldn’t be happy?
It was almost like stumbling upon a fortune of five worth billions!
As for William asking to borrow his title as a rune master to serve as a facade, Josef couldn’t be happier. He even wanted to promote it actively.
After all, the invention of the “Self-Recharging” rune was destined to leave a mark on the history of runecraft, if not the entire history of magic. As William’s teacher, Josef would naturally be a part of that legacy.
So today, Josef made a rare trip out. Normally, with his temperament, after busily arranging the affairs of the Fifth Magic Workshop, he would be prepared to stay holed up in the workshop for a few months without leaving.
For someone who had almost reached the master level in enchantment and runecraft, the most basic requirement was to be able to focus.
How could you make breakthroughs in research if you were running around outside every day!
Josef strolled leisurely through the academy, heading towards the central direction of the academy. Along the way, students who recognized him quickly stepped aside and respectfully saluted.
Before long, Josef arrived at his destination for the day—the administrative building of the Fis Royal Academy of Magic, where all the daily affairs of the academy were handled.
Josef went straight to the third floor and pushed open the door of the innermost room.
“Dalton, I’m here to see you again!”
As soon as Josef entered, he noticed another person sitting in front of Dalton. It seemed like the two of them had just been discussing something.
This person was familiar to Josef.
“Isn’t this Odysseus? Why is the vice dean of the Faculty of Magic here today?”
Odysseus Bloom was the deputy commander of the Fis Royal Mage Corps whom William had encountered before in the Necromancer’s Tree realm. He was also the vice dean of the Fis Royal Academy of Magic.
“You rascal, why aren’t you staying in your magic workshop? If you’re bored, you can lend it to me.”
Naturally, Odysseus recognized Josef and joked.
He knew how much effort Josef had put into acquiring the Fifth Magic Workshop, even asking him, the vice dean, to help speak on his behalf.
After all, the facilities and equipment in the second to fifth magic workshops were all the same, equipped with intelligent magical beings and extremely precious advanced magical research equipment.
As for the sixth magic workshop and beyond, they were much inferior.
Because it cost a huge amount of money, and the funds required for maintenance were also quite staggering, the academy and the kingdom were very strict about granting access to the top five magic workshops.
Before, only the two vice deans, including Odysseus, had access to the top five magic workshops. Now, there was one more rune master, Josef.
But Josef had also paid a considerable price, promising to provide the kingdom with rare-grade enchanted weapons and equipment every year.
“Get lost, you already have the third magic workshop, giving it to you won’t do any good.”
Josef teased back, but it was all just friendly banter between friends.
On the other hand, Dalton was not in a good mood. He said to Josef without a hint of kindness:

“Josef, you old man, what are you doing here again? The budget I approved for you is already exceeded!”
As the academy’s steward, Dalton Boggs had been driven crazy by Josef during this period. He had never seen such a clingy master before.
This guy was really out of line.
Despite clearly not lacking money, he just liked to apply for funds. You would say asking for a top-tier magic inscription recorder was one thing, equipping yourself to the teeth.
What did it mean to even apply for a toilet, just because your butt was big!
Josef knew he had been quite a nuisance before, but Dalton had never skimped on giving what was due, so he thought Dalton was a good person.
With a casual wave of his hand, Josef said, “Don’t worry, I didn’t come to apply for funds today. Help me pull up a student’s information card.”
Hearing Josef wasn’t here for funds, Dalton breathed a sigh of relief and smiled, saying:
“Are you taking on a disciple? I wonder which student caught your eye, I remember you only had Bernie as a disciple right now.”
In the Fis Royal Magic Academy, each enrolled student was given an identity information card, recording basic information including the courses taken, spell specialties, and mage rank, as a measure for the kingdom to better manage its mages.
For a teacher to come and retrieve a student’s information card usually meant one thing: preparing to take the student as an official disciple and making relevant changes and registrations on the student’s information card.
This also signified the academy and the kingdom’s recognition of the mentor-disciple relationship.
Josef, stroking his short chin beard, smiled and said, “Not bad, about the same as Bernie.”
Actually, Josef was eager to brag to his old friends about how excellent William was and how much pride he brought to himself, but since it wasn’t confirmed yet and William said he didn’t want to make the “self-charging” magic rune known for the time being, Josef had to reluctantly restrain himself a little longer.
“Alright, what’s the name of the student you’re looking for?”
Dalton smiled and said, as long as it wasn’t about funds, anything went. Josef wanting to take another disciple in the academy was naturally something he fully supported.
Typically, both the teacher and the student needed to be present for confirmation, but Dalton didn’t probe further.
If a student could catch the eye of Josef, a master of magic runes, what else could there be but agreement?
Odysseus, watching from the side, remained silent. Although he was there to take on a disciple that day, he hadn’t noticed anything amiss and was curious about the disciple Josef wanted to take on.
But soon, he wasn’t curious anymore.
“William Cain, should have enrolled about seven or eight years ago, hurry up and help me find him.”
Hearing the name William from Josef’s mouth, Dalton’s expression turned a bit strange.
Is this the same William I heard about ten minutes ago? What, Josef’s disciple is also named William? Dalton looked at Odysseus sitting in front of him, noticing the vice dean’s expression change as well.
“What’s wrong, is there a problem?”
Josef, seeing Dalton not moving, asked in confusion.
“There’s no problem here.”
Dalton waved his hand, pointing at Odysseus and said:
“If it’s the courtly Viscount William Cain, his information card isn’t here with me anymore, it’s with him.”
Josef’s expression changed as he looked in the direction Dalton pointed.
