Chapter 1103: Buddies
In the middle of an expansive hall, a large screen was displayed, showing the live image of a figure humanity could never forget, Atticus, hovering in the air, facing off against Eletantron, Jezenet, and several dragon elders.
Despite the incredible distance between the hall and the battlefield, the tension still reached the hall.
Still, this tension didn’t seem to reach the people in the hall.
A feminine voice suddenly echoed across the hall, filled with awe.
“This is incredible! He actually did all this?”
It came from a girl with crimson hair and eyes, her gaze fixed on a smaller screen in front of her. She bore every trait of the Vampyros, and Atticus would recognize her in a heartbeat, Lirae Bloodveil.
An excited voice followed immediately after. It was full of pride.
“Oof! I told you, my star actor is the best! He did all of this and more. Here, I’ll show you.”
Who else could it be except Whisker?
With a wave of his hand, the screen in front of Lirae changed, flickering into the scene of Atticus battling Blackgate at Sector 8.
It looked like a high-budget film, as though someone had been on the scene, capturing every angle of the cataclysmic battle. The screen even had sound, and the clash of the battle echoed through the hall as though she was watching a movie.
Lirae watched with wide eyes, completely star-struck.
“…Wow,” she whispered.
On one side of the hall, Maera, the apex of the Obliteri, quickly stood as she heard them mention Atticus. Ae’ark, beside her, could only smile wryly.
Maera approached the duo with swift steps. Her intense gaze locked onto Lirae before she snatched the screen from her hands.
The moment she saw the close-up of Atticus in battle, her eyes lit up and she smiled slightly.
Without another word, she turned and returned to her seat, but she didn’t take her eyes off the screen for a second.
Whisker and Lirae blinked, then both burst into laughter.
“Looks like you’ve got some competition, Rae,” Whisker grinned, wagging his brows. “You up for it?”
Lirae smirked, crossing her leg in a slow, seductive motion. “He’d have to be impotent to choose her over me.”
Whisker raised an eyebrow, still grinning. “That’s the spirit. You should go for what you want! Though, any woman vying for a place in my star actor’s harem must go through me first!”
Lirae narrowed her eyes. “He made you in charge? Or did you just declare yourself in charge?”
Whisker smiled. “Does it matter?”
“It’s literally everything,” Lirae said, rolling her eyes. “Atticus is a man. He’s not the type to let someone else make decisions for him.”
“Oh?” Whisker leaned forward. “You think you know my star actor better than me?”
Lirae simply nodded, smug. “Uh-huh.”
“You wanna bet!?”
“Bring it on!”
But before either could escalate, a voice sounded from the side.
“Um.”

They both turned, blinking. “What?”
Ae’ark cleared his throat awkwardly. “It’s starting.” He gestured toward the massive central screen.
On it, Eletantron and Jezenet were unleashing their auras, beginning their transformations. Atticus and Ozeroth stood in the sky before them, with both of them calmly raising their arms.
They both mouthed an “Oh,” and “Thanks,” before quickly turning back to the screen.
The three apexes had been in Whisker’s world for more than a month now. And between Whisker’s extremely bubbly and eccentric nature and Lirae’s easygoing charm, the two had hit it off instantly, especially with their shared obsession: Atticus.
They were either bantering or gushing about him.
Maera, too, stopped glaring at the smaller screen and shifted her attention toward the unfolding battle, her focus locked in with rapt attention.
Then Whisker suddenly pointed. “Oh look! That old man is fighting.”
He gestured toward the radiant purple figure standing beside Atticus, Ozeroth.
“You know him?” Lirae asked, curious.
Whisker waved his hand casually. “Sure. We’re best buddies. Very close buddies.”
Lirae shot him a look. “You’re buddies with everyone. Are you sure you’re not lying again?”
“You’re breaking my heart, Rae!” Whisker clutched his chest. “Didn’t we just become buddies recently too?”
Lirae smiled. “Yeah, yeah.”
Whisker chuckled and stretched out his hand. Several packs of popcorn appeared hovering above his palm, then floated toward the three apexes.
“Popcorn?” he asked, brightly.
Lirae instantly grabbed hers, while Ae’ark hesitantly took one.
Maera, however, glared at hers like it was a cursed object. Without hesitation, she sent out a wave of dark pulse, obliterating it from existence.
Then she turned her intense gaze to Whisker.
Whisker’s eyes widened. “Alright, alright, no popcorn. Geez.”
He raised both hands in surrender, then turned to face the screen along with the others, just in time to see Atticus and Ozeroth release their auras.
And then…
A clash of world-ending proportions ensued, blinding the entire screen in white.
The next second, two figures shot down from the skies, slamming into the shield with bone-shattering force.
Crunch.
Whisker casually tossed a popcorn into his mouth and chewed.
The battle had just started, and he was already enjoying it. He was having the time of his life!
On screen, Eletantron and Jezenet had barely managed to stand when a kick smashed into each of their faces, sending both of them flying.
The whole of humanity watching had their mouths wide open.
And they weren’t alone.
Even Ae’ark’s jaw had dropped.
Maera smiled slightly, her gaze fixed on Atticus.
And if Lirae didn’t have such a tight grip on her emotions, she would’ve joined them too.
The leaders of the races were getting beat up like chickens!
…
The entire human domain had once again fallen silent. All because of the same person who had been causing their silence from the very beginning.
Atticus.
The sound of bone breaking reverberated throughout the domain as Atticus and Ozeroth slammed their legs into the sides of Eletantron and Jezenet’s faces, sending them tearing through the air like ragdolls.
Both leaders gritted their teeth, blood mixed with spit flailing from their broken mouths.
But for beings of their caliber, their vitality was nothing short of insane.
In the very next instant, their shattered faces healed.
They clenched their fists, eyes burning, before steadying themselves mid-air and regaining balance, stopping their chaotic movement.
