Chapter 1165: Good
Seraphina’s smile returned, sounding gentle. “Don’t say that, sweetie. I’m the one who failed you. I must’ve done something wrong… for your mother to turn out this way.”
She looked straight into Zoey’s tear-soaked eyes.
“You can’t give up now. You have so much to live for. So much to achieve. You’re strong, sweetie. You’ve always been strong. I may not be here for long… but you still have a chance.”
Every syllable stabbed into Zoey’s chest. Why was it looking like Seraphina was speaking her last words?
Then Seraphina continued, “I don’t care how powerful the Spirit King is. What matters is, it’s your body, Zoey. Never stop fighting.”
Suddenly, the kneeling crowd began to glow, pulses of purple light rising from their bodies with each second.
The pressure in the air thickened. Zoey felt the Spirit King’s presence intensify, pressing down harder on her soul.
‘Yield.’
‘Yield.’
‘Yield.’
The word repeated in her ears, sending tremors through her bones.
She turned, and saw Seraphina glowing as well.
“I would’ve loved to see you grow up into the best version of yourself… to see you happy,” Seraphina said gently. “But it seems… I’ll be leaving first.”
“No… no…” Zoey whispered. The tears poured freely now. Her heart throbbed as she watched Seraphina begin to rise, floating into the air alongside the glowing Starhaven faithful.
Seraphina smiled warmly, eyes shining. “Never give up, Zoey. Kick that bastard’s ass. And no matter what… I’ll always love you.”
‘No!’ Zoey thought, and cried out. “Grandma!!!”
A violent violet light surged, blinding the entire area. Zoey shielded her eyes, and when she opened them again, a towering pillar of light had erupted from where Seraphina had floated, shooting into the sky.
Other pillars followed, tearing upward from the points where Celestial and the others had bowed, fusing into a massive column of light that split the heavens.
Zoey could hardly breathe. Her mind raced to catch up.
And then, the pillar reversed.
It tore down, crashing into Zoey with a blinding flash of light.
A presence slammed into her soul, and her consciousness began to slip.
As she struggled to hold on, a voice rang out from deep within. A voice that had been quiet all this while.
“Zoey!”
“L-Lumi…?”
“You must hold on! Don’t give up!”
Zoey tried to fight. Tried to resist. But even Lumindra was powerless against the presence that now flooded her.
Then, they both heard it. A single word that made their bones quake…
“Submit.”
A blinding wave of purple light consumed the domain.

…
‘Hmm. This again.’
Ozeroth turned, his eyes drifting toward the horizon. For a while now, he had been feeling something… off. A strange pressure that was difficult to place.
‘But it’s stronger this time.’
The clash of those monsters in the distance had dulled his senses. Their wills had blanketed most of Eldoralth, making it hard for even someone like him to fully understand what was going on.
Still, Ozeroth had come too far to ignore his instincts.
‘Something is wrong.’
The spiritual energy in the air… it felt off. Not just heavy, but anguished.
“Kuu?”
He turned to see Noctis looking at him with that inquisitive stare again.
“We have to check something out,” Ozeroth said quietly.
“Kuu?” Noctis tilted its head, gesturing toward the people below.
Ozeroth glanced at them. They’d come a long way since the battle had begun.
Killing the Zorvan Kings had taken far less time than anyone would have expected. When they’d finally reached them, one attack, that was all it took. But returning to the alliance had revealed another problem.
The same one Atticus had faced before, Lucas and the life artifact.
Only this time, the Zorvans had brought out more of them… threatening to wipe out everything.
Ozeroth and Noctis had acted immediately.
Ozeroth dove into the heart of the army, striking at the weapons from a distance, careful never to touch them.
Noctis, on the other hand, had used its space element to teleport the people out of the domain, protecting them from the devastating beam of the life artifact attacks.
Now, they weren’t even in the Evolari domain anymore.
They stood in a barren expanse, land decimated by war. And just ahead, where the Evolari domain had once stood… was a gaping hole in its place.
Thankfully, Ozeroth had taken care of the life artifacts, or at least, he hoped he had.
He turned back to Noctis. “I have to check this out. Hold this fort. I’ll be back soon, if it’s nothing.”
Noctis looked reluctant, saddened even, that it couldn’t go with him. But it nodded all the same.
Without hesitation, Ozeroth turned into a streak of light and surged forward, racing at terrifying speed toward the source of that heavy, terrible feeling.
The Human Domain.
…
While all this happened, the titanic clash that shook the whole of Eldoralth had finally come to an end.
A figure cloaked in burning crimson stared coldly at two people crawling toward each other on the floor.
It was a pathetic scene. Kaelith and Lysara were scorched beyond recognition, blackened from the inside out like charcoal.
The glow in their eyes had dimmed significantly, and their wills had been reduced to a faint glow flickering around them.
They had manifested their wills. They had clashed with a monster.
And they had lost.
The monster boy had forced all his will into his katana and pierced their collective manifestation. And like fire lit in a sea of fuel, they had been burned from the inside out.
Now, they were beaten, broken, and struggling to crawl toward each other as though it was their death’s wish.
The twins finally reached each other, grabbing onto their charred arms, trembling. Then, they turned to look at Atticus, who was watching them without a single change in expression. They stared with trembling gazes, as though he was a monster.
Suddenly, a voice reached their ears as Atticus spoke.
“You came to this world and butchered millions of innocents who had never even heard your name,” he said coldly. “You barked up the wrong tree… and you lost.”
His grin had faded as he gazed at the pitiful scene.
“And now, you look at me like I’m some kind of monster?”
A moment of silence, and his will flared, scorching the land.
“Good. That means I’m doing something right.”
