Chapter 517: Chapter 517: Is the Goddess Ready to Die for Love?
The higher the level of existence, the less likely it is to see the so-called “berserk mode” often depicted in novels and TV shows. Gods are no exception. At this level, every ounce of power requires painstaking effort to accumulate and cannot simply erupt in bursts.
As for anger and hatred, these emotions only serve to weaken a god’s rationality. Once their logic deteriorates, not only will their strength fail to improve, but they might struggle to wield their full capabilities effectively.
The same principle applied to Diana. Though she appeared to be growing stronger under the shroud of hatred, forcing Boris, a god with three divine authorities, into retreat and leaving him defenseless, the truth was far simpler: Boris had been holding back, unwilling to counterattack due to her status.
Now, however, with his master’s permission, Boris’s long-suppressed frustration erupted all at once. He was no ordinary deity; he was a being with three divine authorities and one of the most crucial figures in the Nation of Orichalcum. To be beaten into such a sorry state by Diana—how could he endure it any longer?
In an instant!
The overwhelming pressure of three divine authorities exploded outward. Diana, who had moments earlier been brimming with aggressive momentum and forcing Boris to retreat step by step, suddenly found her breathing falter. Her aura, previously dominant, was immediately suppressed.
It was evident that Diana was no match for Boris when he unleashed his full strength. If Boris had wanted to, he could have easily used the same attack he had employed against Sterl to directly suppress her.
Yet, despite the terrifying pressure, Diana’s expression remained unchanged. The only difference was the resolute determination and willingness to die now gleaming in her eyes.
Her Hades was dead, and it was all because of this damned traitor. If she had to perish, then she would take Boris down with her!
Suddenly, the powers of Swamp divine authority and Archery divine authority began rapidly converging in Diana’s grasp. A colorful arrow, entwined with the energy of the swamp, materialized in her hand. Her delicate, jade-like fingers drew an ethereal bowstring from the air, and in a flash, a massive longbow manifested.
The next moment, Diana channeled all her Divine Power into the bow, infusing the already terrifying arrow with even greater destructive force. The sheer intensity of the arrow’s power seemed capable of piercing through space itself.
At this, Boris’s expression shifted, turning serious. He hadn’t expected Diana’s outburst to be so fearsome. Now, even without Sterl’s orders, he had no choice but to take action. Otherwise, he faced a genuine risk of annihilation.
Without hesitation, Boris activated his three divine authorities: Curses, Desert, and Battle. These powers intertwined and formed a rapidly spinning vortex before him, growing stronger with every passing moment.
In an instant!
Diana’s arrow, infused with all her Divine Power, shot forward. As it tore through the air, it left ripples of distorted space in its wake. The speed was blinding, resembling a radiant beam of light streaking toward Boris with unstoppable force.
In the blink of an eye, the arrow closed in on Boris, carrying the combined might of the Swamp and Archery Laws. Its sharp and deadly power radiated an overwhelming sense of danger, so intense that even Boris felt a deep and primal threat.
But by this moment, Boris’s counterattack was fully formed. The vortex in front of him spun faster and faster, a cursed whirlpool imbued with terrifying gravitational force, perfectly positioned to intercept the incoming arrow.
Immediately, the arrow’s speed dropped sharply. The powers of the two divine authorities and Laws embedded in it clashed violently with the vortex, which was infused with the Curses and Desert divine authorities. The two forces, evenly matched, grappled with each other, locking the arrow in place. Simultaneously, the strength of the vortex began to wane, rapidly consuming itself in the struggle.
At this critical moment, Boris unleashed the power he had been channeling in his hand. With a roar, he hurled a punch forward, activating his Battle divine authority. Behind him, a massive shadow materialized, its fist cloaked in blazing Divine Power, mirroring Boris’s movements as it slammed into the arrow with earth-shaking force.
Boom!
In an instant, the arrow—already immobilized by the vortex—was utterly obliterated by the punch. Diana’s ultimate attack, imbued with all her strength and divine essence, shattered into countless fragments, vanishing like ephemeral bubbles. Only the residual shockwaves, saturated with lethal destructive energy, remained, bearing witness to the arrow’s terrifying presence moments ago.
Diana faltered, her heart sinking into an abyss of despair. She had underestimated Boris’s strength. In the earlier battle with Hades, Boris’s swift defeat had led many gods to question his power.
But now, facing Boris head-on, she understood the truth: Boris wasn’t weak—Hades was simply too strong. Strong enough to make even someone as terrifyingly powerful as Boris crumble like paper before him.
However, as she thought about her mighty, commanding Hades, she felt a deep and agonizing sorrow. That invincible figure, reduced to a victim of betrayal, had been killed by these gods who exploited Shielding Power. The grief gnawed at her, sapping her fighting spirit.
Adding to her despair was the fact that her last arrow, a strike containing everything she had, was effortlessly neutralized. She no longer had the strength to continue this battle. Against Boris, she was utterly powerless.
Meanwhile, the vortex still lingered, and Boris stood wrapped in the energy of Battle Law, his form enveloped in the remnants of the apocalyptic whirlpool. His presence was awe-inspiring, a manifestation of raw power. Even the gods from the Ashen faction were taken aback by Boris’s overwhelming display.
None of them had expected this so-called defector to possess such terrifying strength. It was now clear that without two or three gods of similar standing working together, it would be impossible to contain or defeat him.
With Boris dominating the battlefield, the tide of this conflict would soon turn in their favor.
At that moment, the gods from the Ashen faction realized that with Diana’s defeat, they could quickly shift their forces to support the Terran front, completely annihilating Orichalcum’s remaining strength in one decisive strike. This thought ignited their morale even further. Their relentless pressure continued to bear down on Orichalcum’s gods, who were already outnumbered without Sterl. Even if they wanted to assist Diana, they couldn’t spare the manpower.
If Diana were to fall to Boris, the already disadvantageous situation of nine against ten would worsen to eight against ten. And with Boris’s terrifying strength, there seemed to be no hope of turning the tide.

“Boris, you damn traitor! Curse you!”
“Betrayer! You will be forever nailed to the pillar of shame and condemned to an eternity in hell!”
“Do you think these filthy natives will value you just because you defected? Trash is trash, no matter where it stands! Eventually, you’ll be discarded like a pig—skinned, dismembered, and devoured completely!”
Seeing that victory was slipping away, the gods of Orichalcum lost all pretense of dignity. Their rage and despair at the prospect of death spilled over into furious insults hurled at Boris, their voices trembling with venomous anger and unwillingness to accept their fate.
“Mr. Boris, please rest assured!” one of Ashen’s gods quickly interjected. “The Nation of Orichalcum was blind to neglect a hero and a top-tier powerhouse like you. Thanks to your contributions, our victory is assured. You will forever hold a place of honor among us Ashen gods!”
The gods of Ashen scrambled to defend Boris. They knew the outcome of the entire battle hinged on him. If Boris suddenly had a change of heart and turned against them, the situation could reverse in an instant. Regardless of their personal feelings, none dared to say or do anything that might upset him.
But deep down, Boris sneered. Orichalcum? Ashen? What were they compared to his master?
After being subdued by Sterl and marked with the follower imprint, Boris had learned something astonishing: his master wasn’t even a legendary figure. Sterl was merely a player, not even part of the divine hierarchy!
And what did that mean?
A being of third class rising to slay gods, challenging the heavens themselves. Even the mythical chief deities of old couldn’t accomplish such feats during this era.
But Sterl had done it. He slaughtered gods as easily as butchering livestock. Even the power of high-tier divine authority couldn’t suppress him. The potential Sterl carried was immeasurable—a future where he would establish his divine kingdom and ascend to become a chief deity, standing above countless worlds and gods.
No—Sterl’s future was even brighter than that. Transcendence. He would rise beyond all gods, surpassing the concept of divinity itself.
To follow such a master was to unleash Boris’s own potential to the fullest. Only under Sterl’s command could Boris hope to explore the vastness of true power and witness an even grander future.
For this reason, Boris resolved to complete his master’s plans flawlessly, without reservation or hesitation. Sterl’s will was absolute.
As this thought crossed his mind, Boris’s gaze toward Diana changed. The tension and fear that once filled his eyes were replaced with a resolute determination.
“Mistress, forgive me. This is all by the master’s command,” he murmured softly.
In the next moment, the combined powers of his three Laws and divine authorities surged together. The force he unleashed here, in the open battlefield, was far superior to what he could wield within the secluded sanctum of the temple.
The heavens shifted dramatically. Dark, churning clouds rolled across the sky, and an unrelenting storm of yellow sand swept in, shrouding everything within a radius of hundreds of miles. Within this sandstorm was an eerie Power of the Curse, which drained the strength and spirit of every being caught in it. Whether they were mere mortals or legendary demigods, all felt a debilitating weakness, their legs trembling beneath them as they struggled even to remain standing.
Amid the swirling sands, Boris’s Battle Law coalesced into his fists. Step by step, he advanced through the air toward Diana, an imposing figure framed by the storm. Behind him, a towering avatar of yellow sand materialized, its form resembling a Doombringer Demon God, an apocalyptic specter born of despair and destruction.
Raising his hand, Boris unleashed a devastating punch toward Diana with the full force of his power.
Diana, however, stood motionless in the void. Unlike before, this time she did not flee, nor did she display fear. She merely stared blankly at the incoming attack, so close now that it was nearly upon her. In that fleeting moment, her mind wandered, recalling the day when she had been besieged by numerous gods, on the verge of being suppressed and enslaved.
In that desperate hour, he had appeared. Descending from the heavens, shrouded in rainbow-colored light, a white-clad war god stood before her like a sacred knight sent to protect her from the divine realm. He was domineering, powerful, extraordinary, and breathtakingly beautiful…
But alas, it was all just a dream. A fleeting illusion that had dissolved in the blink of an eye.
“Hades… have you come to take me with you?”
Her body trembled with fear, every cell screaming at her to run, to escape. Yet, her eyes remained vacant, fixed on the approaching attack. In that moment, it was as though she were gazing upon a figure she could never see again—a figure forever lost to her.
