Chapter 522: Chapter 522: A Devastating Battle, The Tragedy of the Divine!
This wasn’t a battle in the true sense; it was a brutal massacre, a savage slaughter of gods!
In less than half a minute, four or five gods had already fallen. The chaotic Divine Power filled the sky, and Eterna could only watch in disbelief, his heart burning with rage. But he couldn’t even think about taking action. He was gravely wounded and barely able to protect himself. The only thing he could do now was to survive long enough to endure the remaining duration of the divine shield. Only then would he have a slim chance of survival.
On the other side, Terran was growing increasingly anxious. Time was passing too slowly, and yet, there was still no news from Boris. This growing silence filled him with an ominous premonition.
Could Boris’s defection be a lie? That was absolutely impossible. The information from the contract, as well as the expressions of the Orichalcum gods like Eterna, all confirmed that Boris had indeed joined their side.
If that was the case, then the plan should have been foolproof…
Suddenly, a flash of insight struck his mind. “Wait a minute!”
He froze in realization. According to Boris, the higher-ranked divine beings from the Orichalcum Kingdom had granted three Sword of Doomsday Judgment weapons. Terran had assumed that all three swords were in Eterna’s hands, but now he realized that Eterna only had two. The third sword… must be in the hands of someone named Hades!
Terran’s heart skipped a beat. Hades was a mysterious figure, and his divine origins and strength were unknown. If Hades possessed any kind of crisis-sensing ability, he could easily wield the Sword of Doomsday Judgment, and with the combined power of ten gods, they would stand no chance of fighting back.
Thinking of this, Terran felt a surge of panic. Boris’s group may have already encountered danger!
Meanwhile, the gods who were slightly slower in their movements had been killed off one by one. The remaining gods had already fled a considerable distance, making it nearly impossible to catch up with them.
“Damn it! A bunch of useless fools!” Terran cursed under his breath.
“After them! Chase them!!”
With a low growl, he took out a trump card he had been holding onto for a long time—an item that would briefly allow him to use the power of the Space Law.
Suppressing the painful feeling in his heart, he activated the trump card, then waved his hand, propelling himself directly toward one of the Orichalcum gods. The sudden assault caught the god off guard, and in the panic, he forgot to activate his divine shield for defense. Instead, he attacked with everything he had.
But the god’s counterattack was skillfully reflected back with a single, precise strike, and Terran instantly unleashed a powerful blow that severed the god’s head, killing him in a single move.
This was the power granted by the upper realms—unstoppable, forcing the target to endure without the possibility of resistance. But between gods, power wasn’t something that could be easily resisted. Every one of them had the ability to instantly annihilate their opponent.
After killing one god, Terran continued to move through the space, planning to eliminate the remaining thirteen or fourteen gods.
At that moment, Eterna could no longer afford to hesitate. He activated the Hunting Divine Authority, rapidly appearing in front of Terran, blocking his path.
“You trash who can only cower and flee, yet you dare show your face before me? Fine, I’ll deal with you first!”
Seeing Eterna appear, Terran wasted no time. He enveloped himself in Divine Power and charged directly at his opponent, showing no concern for any potential counterattacks from Eterna.
This was confidence—confidence born from the power of the upper realms. Without the Sword of Doomsday Judgment, it was absolutely impossible to break the godly shield’s defense! Even with the Sword of Doomsday Judgment, the shield could still withstand a strike for a moment and reflect it back. This was the foundation of his reckless slaughter.
“Die!”
With a growl, Terran launched a punch infused with the power of three Divine Authorities, striking straight at Eterna.
Puff…
The punch seemed to land on a cushion of cotton, passing straight through Eterna’s body. In the next moment, Eterna’s form dissolved like foam, vanishing completely. This was clearly an illusion—an illusion so realistic that even a god could be deceived by it!
However, Terran wasn’t angered. With a steady expression, he struck again, this time at the empty air in front of him.
With a loud bang, a beautifully crafted shield was shattered into pieces, and Eterna’s form emerged from behind the broken shield.
“Rat, where else can you hide?”
Had it been before, Eterna’s Hunting Divine Authority, combined with his Illusion Divine Authority, would have allowed him to perfectly hide in the subspace. Even someone like Terran would have needed time to track him down. But after briefly gaining control over the Space Law, Terran could immediately sense where Eterna was.
The concept of hiding was a joke in the face of the Space Law.

Eterna didn’t panic, though. While simultaneously using the Hot Spring Law to heal his wounds and replenish his strength—his unique combat style—he knew that the Hot Spring Law would allow him strong endurance in battle. The Illusion Law provided him with the ability to mislead or even trap his enemies.
As for the Hunting Divine Authority, it was his ultimate weapon—one strike, one kill.
It could be said that, whether it was in terms of endurance, distraction, or sudden strikes, Eterna could handle it all with ease. Even though he was heavily wounded, he was still in a better state than Terran, especially with the support of the Hot Spring Law. Eterna’s overall condition was slightly better, thanks to his healing abilities.
Of course, Terran, protected by his divine shield, would not engage directly in a head-to-head confrontation. Instead, he continued to use tactics to delay and control the situation, buying time.
The other gods being pursued were in a similar situation, doing everything they could to stall for time. The few who were uninjured and at full strength even tried to fend off two or three pursuers at once.
Before, when the Ashen side had endured a strike from the Sword of Doomsday Judgment, nearly everyone was severely wounded. This had nullified their numerical advantage, leaving them in a much weaker position than before.
As time passed, Terran’s anxiety grew. Eterna was like an elusive fish, slippery and difficult to catch. Despite using all of his methods, Terran still couldn’t take him down. Occasionally, Eterna would take one or two of his attacks, but with the aid of the Hot Spring Divine Authority, he quickly recovered. Meanwhile, Terran’s Divine Power was beginning to run low due to the continuous onslaught.
Looking at the situation elsewhere, Terran’s expression was filled with hesitation and struggle. He had no way of knowing the exact situation with Boris. If Boris was being overwhelmed and killed, then they, too, would be caught in a pincer attack from the Orichalcum gods who were coming to the rescue, and they would fall into a dangerous predicament.
On the other hand, if Boris’s side won, and Terran retreated now, it would be a wasted opportunity, and the Orichalcum faction would have a chance to recover and regroup.
He found himself in a difficult, conflicting position. But with only five seconds remaining on his divine shield, he grit his teeth and gave the order to retreat.
There was no choice. He couldn’t afford to take the risk. If Eterna could have been killed in the first place, perhaps there would have been no need for anything further. But from the moment Eterna escaped death, it signified the failure of their ambush. Continuing the battle would only lead to a mutually destructive outcome.
“Retreat!”
With the command, the remaining Ashen gods stopped their pursuit. They, too, shared the same thought. They were all heavily wounded, their conditions not optimal, and a single mistake could lead them to fall into the abyss. The best option now was to withdraw, regroup, and recover their strength.
Upon seeing this, the Orichalcum gods, who had been desperately resisting, breathed a collective sigh of relief. Many of them had begun to despair, knowing that they wouldn’t be able to withstand the assault much longer. In just a few seconds, they would be overwhelmed and killed.
Eterna took a deep breath, watching as Terran and the others began to retreat. He silently sent out a signal, calling for the scattered Orichalcum gods to regroup. He suspected that the effect of the divine shield was nearing its end. If that was the case, even if Terran had some other tricks or conspiracies up his sleeve, gathering their forces together would give them a better chance to fight back.
The Hot Spring Law continued to flow, healing the wounds and restoring the strength of all the nearby gods. Eterna took a brief moment to assess his own condition, and he could only describe it as pitiful. His divine body was nearly destroyed. Even with the healing provided by the Hot Spring Divine Authority, he was barely hanging on, barely able to survive. In a few minutes, he would no longer be able to continue.
Fortunately, seeing the way the Ashen gods were retreating, it seemed like they were really planning to withdraw. He let out a long sigh of relief. For some reason, though, he couldn’t shake a feeling deep inside him, a sense of unease.
Their battle with Ashen, it felt as if some unseen hand had been pushing everything forward, pulling them deeper and deeper into the whirlpool of war. It hadn’t even been long, yet the number of gods lost on both sides was probably already greater than the combined toll of the past ten thousand years, or even longer!
This world was clearly undergoing a great upheaval, with all kinds of rules and forces slowly loosening. Otherwise, the Divine Blood Rain—the blood-drenched storm of divine destruction—would surely have continued for years without stopping.
But when he thought more carefully about it, the conflict with Ashen seemed to follow a logical course. It wasn’t the result of some mysterious hand guiding events. It was merely a series of coincidences that had culminated in this mutually destructive outcome. Perhaps the so-called “unseen hand” was just his imagination running wild.
Shaking his head, Eterna’s heart grew heavy again. Of the forces he had led into battle, half of them had perished in this fight. Originally, there had been around twenty-six or twenty-seven gods under his command, but now only thirteen remained.
As for Ashen, while they had all suffered considerable injuries, their losses hadn’t been nearly as great. He still didn’t know what was happening on Hades’s side, but if things had gone badly there, they might have been completely wiped out. Of course, he believed that Ashen’s side would still suffer some significant losses.
However, if the Ashen gods had time to recover, the difference in power between the two sides would become even more pronounced. The gap in divine strength would be at least double, maybe more!
Such a massive disparity almost made victory seem impossible.
