Chapter 528: Chapter 528: The Wrath of the High-Level Divine Authority!
Eterna shook his head. Although his sensory abilities had saved him many times, they were also prone to errors.
At this moment, Hades was the greatest hero of Orichalcum, revered and even worshiped by everyone throughout the entire kingdom. Therefore, Eterna didn’t want to jump to conclusions over such a minor incident.
Moreover, the matter of Boris’s betrayal had yet to be properly explained. If he started doubting Hades now, it could make things worse. If Hades got angry enough to just walk away from his position, Eterna would become a traitor in the eyes of the royal city!
After carefully investigating and confirming there was nothing particularly unusual, the group picked up the pace and hurried toward the royal city.
Meanwhile, Sterl was secretly alarmed.
“That was close, I almost blew my cover. I didn’t expect this title to have so many hidden effects.”
Sterl was shaken. Luckily, his acting skills had been on point, and he had managed to suppress the aura brought on by the title just in time. Otherwise, he might have been exposed, and in that case, he would have had to take drastic measures.
This title, aside from the three abilities granted by the [Transcendence] system, also had an aura amplification effect.
At first, Sterl hadn’t paid much attention to it. What use was a mere aura enhancement? Could it really intimidate a god?
But now, seeing the effect, it was clear that not only could it intimidate gods, but it could also cause them to experience fear and sluggishness to a certain extent. It even seemed capable of briefly suppressing Divine Power. This meant that, in the presence of an ordinary god, their ability to resist him would be significantly weakened.
Of course, this aura had both advantages and drawbacks. Sterl was certain that even neutral gods, who had never met him, would sense this aura and regard him as some ancient, terrifying demon about to awaken. They might even join forces to suppress him.
Thus, in front of higher-level divine authorities, he couldn’t afford to release this aura carelessly. Yet, a thought rose in Sterl’s mind.
With the [Godslayer] title, even a high-level divine authority should be within his reach, right?
He recalled the high-level divine authority that had made a move against him before, as well as the power of the Sword of Doomsday Judgment. If the title’s effect was activated, the gap between them would shrink several times over. With his own powerful offensive capabilities, even a high-level divine authority would face significant threats, possibly even sustaining injuries to their divine form!
At this thought, Sterl couldn’t help but feel a surge of excitement, an impulse to challenge a high-level divine authority and test his own strength. But he wasn’t a fool. Unless absolutely necessary, he wouldn’t do something as reckless and dangerous as that.
During the journey, he made use of the map module and the followers’ marks on Boris and the others. It was just in time to see them enter the Ashen Temple. The temple was the dwelling place of the gods, protected by Divine Power and various formations.
Even with the [Transcendence] ability, it was impossible to fully restrict the gods, so the map module couldn’t reveal the scenes inside the temple. However, by utilizing the followers’ mark inside Boris, he was able to successfully perceive what was happening at that moment.
He saw that the ten gods, including Boris, upon returning to the temple, showed no hesitation and immediately called upon the power of the upper realms while simultaneously inspecting the faint soul mark left by Terran and the others.
This was a tool used to monitor the life and death of gods. As long as a soul mark was left behind, it would disappear along with the death of its owner.
However, upon closer inspection, the item that recorded the soul marks of all the gods of Ashen was almost empty. Half of it was gone, leaving only about twenty faint marks still glowing weakly.
Upon seeing this, all the surviving gods’ faces instantly filled with terror and disbelief.
“This… How is this possible! Terran… is dead!?”
The gods guarding the temple hurriedly gathered together, staring at the empty soul marks with wide eyes. Weren’t they told that Orichalcum would not act rashly, and that there was no solution to the Shielding Power?
But did they also not take away the divine shield granted by the gods of the upper realms? Didn’t they receive word earlier that Boris from Orichalcum had come to surrender, and that this assassination would be foolproof, with preparations already made to attack the royal city of Orichalcum?
So what the hell was going on now?! Not a single god who attacked Hades was dead, but Terran’s entire force had been wiped out! Were they dreaming?
“What’s happening? What is going on here?!”
“What happened over there? We need an explanation!”
“My god! Dozens of gods have fallen! Ashen has never suffered such a great loss!”
“This is the War of Annihilation! To the death!”
The gods guarding the temple shouted in panic and fury. The reason was simple: Ashen had lost so many gods at once, plunging them into an absolute disadvantage. With this, Orichalcum would undoubtedly press their advantage, and their own safety would now be at great risk!

“Everyone, calm down.”
A voice rang out, immediately drawing everyone’s attention. The speaker was none other than Boris!
However, upon seeing Boris, the outsider from Orichalcum, many of the gods guarding the temple revealed unfriendly and scrutinizing gazes, and it seemed they were subtly surrounding him.
“You are Boris, the so-called strongest in Orichalcum after Eterna, right?”
“Hmph! Those who are not of my kind will surely think differently! Maybe this is all part of your plan!”
“Capture him! Torture him; we’ll get useful information from him!”
Surrounded by a group of malicious gods, Boris felt a rush of panic in his heart. However, having experienced large-scale situations before, he managed to keep his composure and maintained a calm demeanor, even making eye contact with each of them.
“I’ve already made a contract with Terran. If this truly is some so-called scheme, then I believe all of you here would already be running for your lives right now,” he said coldly, his eyes filled with disdain.
But gods were gods. Despite the huge blow from the deaths of Terran and the others, they couldn’t let their emotions dominate them. Their gazes quickly calmed, and they accepted Boris’s words. After all, if this had been some trap, the nine gods who had returned unharmed wouldn’t be standing here now. They would have been wiped out, and Ashen’s forces would be even more vulnerable, on the brink of collapse.
Seeing the tension ease, Boris let out a long sigh of relief and proceeded to explain the plan he had made with Terran. The other nine gods present confirmed his story, and as a result, it wasn’t met with any real skepticism.
“Hades is mysterious; I don’t know what method he used, but he managed to avoid our attack. Fortunately, he didn’t have the Sword of Doomsday Judgment with him, or none of us would be alive right now.”
“Also, the reason I told you not to panic is because not long ago, Terran and the others sent me a message. Eterna’s team was almost completely wiped out. However, they were all severely injured due to the Sword of Doomsday Judgment’s power. We don’t know the exact cause of the complete annihilation, but I suspect it’s due to reinforcements from Hades’s side.”
“Hades… that guy is ridiculously strong, like some kind of monster!”
As he spoke, a trace of fear appeared in Boris’s eyes, and the other nine gods who had participated in the ambush displayed similar expressions. They had witnessed firsthand the power of Hades.
Boris, a three-divine-authority god, had been effortlessly struck down with a single blow from Hades. That level of power was on par with that of a high-level divine authority!
Upon hearing this, the atmosphere inside the temple grew heavy and serious. Deep wariness filled everyone’s eyes, mixed with a hint of resentment. How could Orichalcum, this damned invader, be worthy of receiving the support of such a powerful god?
Fortunately, Boris had allied with them; otherwise, this would have truly been a situation of total annihilation. The temple might even have suffered damage from the power of the Sword of Doomsday Judgment.
Just as the entire temple was engulfed in silence, a powerful aura suddenly descended upon it.
A figure shrouded in high-level Divine Power, with its features obscured, stood among them. Due to its high-level divine authority, the figure was bound by numerous shackles from different worlds.
However, Boris’s pupils contracted, and his heart skipped a beat. As a high-level divine authority himself, he could immediately tell that the figure’s shackles were only half as many as those on the previous Orichalcum god. It felt as though, with minimal effort, the figure could shatter these shackles at will!
“Greetings, Lord of the Upper Realms.”
Upon seeing the divine being from the upper realms descend, all the gods immediately lowered their heads in respect. They then gave a detailed report on the current situation in Ashen. After delivering the final words, an even more oppressive aura surged forth, causing all the gods to struggle to breathe.
Soon after, several more high-level divine authorities appeared, which caused Boris’s heart to race with panic. He feared that his mark would be exposed. If that happened, he would be torn apart by the fury of these gods. It was a fate too terrible to imagine, and he was certain it would be unexpectedly brutal.
Fortunately, the mark from the Ancient One—a mark even more powerful than the Ancient One itself—was not detected by these high-level divine authorities.
This brought some relief to Sterl. If Boris’s mark had been discovered, it was possible that the marks he had placed on other gods would also be exposed. In that case, he would have to seriously reconsider whether he should return to the royal city of Orichalcum at all.
