Chapter 538: Chapter 538: Dream Power, The Power to Turn Falsehoods into Reality!?
[Wings of Glory]
[Category: Special]
[Description: The Kingdom of Orichalcum once drifted within the Endless Void, a place plagued by natural disasters and ravaged by Void Behemoths. The entire kingdom was battered by storms and chaos. This is the historical record. Long ago, the founders of Orichalcum killed a rogue Void Behemoth, tearing one of its thirty-six pairs of wings off. They extracted all the flesh and power from the wings and forged them into a banner, marking the kingdom’s war efforts. This banner became a symbol of the kingdom’s unique and exalted honor, a symbol of the great divine power!]
[Effect: By possessing the Wings of Glory, you gain the friendship and respect of the Orichalcum Kingdom. Additionally, your courage and battle intent are enhanced!]
[Note: Perhaps its greatest power lies in symbolizing a glorious history, a war that determined the fate of the capital.]
Sterl stared at the enormous wings in front of him, completely dumbfounded. He had expected something extraordinary from these seemingly magnificent wings—some powerful treasure or artifact. But now he was being told that this was just a symbol of honor!?
“Goddammit!”
It felt like a storm of frustration had built up inside him. He slapped the Wings of Glory, but the wings were surprisingly sturdy. While there was no visible damage, the force of his slap sent a sharp pain through his palm.
The good mood he had gotten from the Boots of the Void was completely ruined by this thing.
The change in his view of the Orichalcum Kingdom, which had started to improve, vanished completely. This wasn’t just a small pitfall—it was a full-on trap, set to take him down!
For the Orichalcum Kingdom, these wings might hold immense meaning and value. But for him? They were just a useless piece of trash—no practical use whatsoever.
The only effect was to increase his courage a bit? But was that the kind of courage that could turn the tide of a battle, reverse fate, or defeat powerful enemies? Absolute bullshit!
Wasn’t Morette the god of Thunder and Courage? Yet, didn’t he almost get his ass handed to him? If it weren’t for Sterl stepping in to save him, he’d probably have grass growing three meters high over his grave by now.
“Forget it… Forget it,” he muttered to himself, trying to calm down. “I got the Boots of the Void. Even if the next five items are trash, I’m not at a loss. If I happen to find something truly priceless, that’ll be a huge win.”
He took a deep breath and tried to console himself. As long as he kept his expectations low, his mindset wouldn’t implode. Of course, Sterl also knew that while some treasures in the royal vault were genuinely powerful, others were, without a doubt, infuriatingly pointless.
Sterl stored the Wings of Glory into his small world. After all, it was something he had spent one of his precious opportunities on. Besides, the material itself was quite exceptional. Just based on its durability alone, it could rival epic-level or even mythic-level shield-type equipment, though it lacked any additional attributes.
Moreover, it was apparently taken from a Void Behemoth. Void Behemoths were terrifying beings that consumed worlds as their sustenance. That alone made the wings a rare and valuable item. Perhaps it might have some other use in the future.
In any case, throwing it away was not an option for Sterl.
With his mindset adjusted, his expectations for the remaining five opportunities weren’t very high. Casually, he picked another item floating in midair.
Once he confirmed his choice, the disguises and restrictions on the object dissipated. What had seemed like a plain, unimpressive lump of iron transformed into a shimmering sphere, radiating a dreamy glow.
[Illusory Dream]
[Category: Special]
[Description: According to legend, there exists an opposite realm to the real world, known as Dreamland. Dreamland resides within sleep, hidden in the deepest recesses of consciousness. Only by falling into absolute stillness can one touch the tendrils cast forth by Dreamland. It is said that Dreamland contains all manner of unique and conceptual entities. Occasionally, Dreamland leaks its mysterious energy, granting ordinary items extraordinary and powerful abilities.]
[Effect: Activating Illusory Dream allows you to pull a selected enemy into a false world woven by Dream Power. Until the Dream Power is exhausted, you can freely alter all rules and elements within this false world.]
[Note: If sufficient Dream Power is invested, perhaps the false… could become real!]
“Huh? This is pretty good,” Sterl murmured, raising an eyebrow as a glimmer of delight flashed in his eyes.
This item was clearly a powerful support tool—and it wasn’t even a one-time use artifact. As long as the Dream Power within it wasn’t depleted, it could be used repeatedly.
Moreover, the Illusory Dream seemed to be connected to a place called Dreamland, which piqued Sterl’s interest. It appeared to share origins with a certain Dream Orb he had noticed earlier in the contribution marketplace.
[Dream Orb]
[Description: A pearl infused with the Law of Dreams. It seems to have merged with a mysterious power, granting it the ability to connect to unknown worlds. Using this orb might lead to unimaginable rewards—or possibly, unforeseen dangers. In the past, the Orichalcum Kingdom obtained immense wealth through this orb, until a catastrophic crisis forced them to seal it away permanently.]

[Effect: Opens a gateway to traverse the Endless Dream World, allowing exploration of its mysteries and powers.]
[Hint: Current number of uses remaining: 3.]
[Price: 30,000 Contribution Points.]
However, the Dream Orb opened the path to Dreamland, while the Illusory Dream was the power that leaked from Dreamland. Although the two served different functions, there was some kind of special connection between them.
Sterl then focused on the last line of information, a look of surprise spreading across his face. “If there is enough Dream Power, even illusions can become reality?”
Was this information suggesting that Dream Power had the ability to turn the false into the true? If that was the case, then it was somewhat terrifying.
His intuition told him that the Illusory Dream might hold even more value than the Dream Orb. However, the Dream Power contained within the Illusory Dream was limited. Once depleted, how would it be replenished?
At that moment, Sterl paused for a second, because, while holding the Illusory Dream, he discovered something astonishing—it could actually be evolved and upgraded!
Previously, he had tried to use cheats to upgrade the Soul Devourer Sphere and Boots of the Void, but both had failed. The former was too perfectly crafted, having been improved by a mighty divine being to its ultimate form. The latter, born in the Endless Void, had a very high status and couldn’t be upgraded for now.
However, after the cheat upgrade, these two items might be enhanced, but the Illusory Dream could indeed be evolved.
“Well, the evolution update came today. Let’s see how it works,” he muttered.
Gripping the Illusory Dream, Sterl chose to evolve it. Immediately, a mysterious force surged into the Illusory Dream.
From Sterl’s senses, although the Illusory Dream didn’t seem to change much outwardly, the unfamiliar energy inside began to swell rapidly. Before long, it had expanded to roughly twice its original size!
“Did it just double the Dream Power stored in the Illusory Dream?” he thought, his heart lifting. Just as he was wondering how to replenish the Dream Power, this unexpected upgrade seemed to solve his problem. Now, he didn’t need to worry about running out of Dream Power.
But what truly surprised him was that after the first evolution, the Illusory Dream could still be upgraded. This was a huge revelation for Sterl. “Can the Illusory Dream’s Dream Power capacity be infinitely increased?”
He thought back to the line: “As long as there’s enough Dream Power, even the false can become real.” A spark of inspiration lit up in his mind. “Let’s see what this so-called Dream Power can actually do first.”
Holding the Illusory Dream, Sterl immediately understood how to use it. With a simple thought, a surge of energy rapidly poured out of the Illusory Dream, enveloping the entire treasury. This layer of power was incredibly subtle, almost like a breeze, and though a careful examination might be conducted, nothing could be found.
This was the true power of Dream Power. Since it came from Dreamland, a realm outside the real world, the energy was completely undetectable. If Sterl weren’t the owner of this Illusory Dream, he probably wouldn’t have been able to sense this power either.
Soon, the power within the Illusory Dream began to fade, and a massive figure suddenly appeared in the treasure vault. The figure’s face was obscured by an endless glow, its enormous body nearly spanning the entire vault. Behind it, six pairs of pristine white wings sprouted, and in its hand was a terrifyingly immense sword, radiating overwhelming power!
It was unmistakably the appearance of the Twelve-Winged Angel from the myths of Earth’s past. The angel’s presence was so powerful that it made the entire vault tremble. Slowly, it raised its long sword and struck down with immense force.
In an instant, the vault shattered, everything inside was reduced to nothing, and the residual energy instantly destroyed the protective barriers of the royal city, enveloping the entire kingdom!
But…
Sterl knew that all of this was an illusion, a false world woven by the Illusory Dream.
However, Sterl remained frozen in place, his breath momentarily halting. The scene was one he had created himself, yet he was still caught off guard. Why? Because… this Twelve-Winged Angel, with its majesty, its aura, and its massive form, felt so incredibly real. Even the scene of the sword crashing down was indistinguishable from reality!
If other gods hadn’t detected this, the sudden appearance of such a terrifying being could have had a truly surprising effect!
This was not just any illusion; it was a false world! And how could beings enveloped by this false world ever perceive it as fake?
Furthermore, divine battles could change in an instant. Even a small amount of hesitation, or a fleeting moment of intimidation, could be enough for the enemy to seize the opportunity and deliver a devastating blow!
