Chapter 605: Chapter 605: An Impossible Form of Existence!
Just as Sterl was preparing to head toward the battlefield he had deduced, intending to confront the bizarre invaders of Hell, a message arrived from the God of Werewolves, one of his ten divine followers.
“My Lord, I’ve located the battlefield. From what I can see, the resistance forces in this layer of Hell are on the verge of collapse.”
Hearing this, Sterl paused briefly, a faint smile of satisfaction appearing on his face. This was the benefit of having powerful subordinates—the efficiency of divine-level followers far surpassed that of ordinary ones.
“Do not act rashly. Wait for me to arrive,” Sterl replied.
If these strange creatures were indeed tied to the Great Catastrophe, then they likely concealed an unimaginably terrifying power. Should the God of Werewolves act impulsively and attract the attention of the force behind them, it might not only lead to his follower’s demise but also expose Sterl and his entire group.
Sterl quickly ordered the rest of his followers to converge on the God of Werewolves’ position. Activating his ascend to godhood state, he pushed his speed to its limit, tearing through space as he rushed forward.
Before long, he arrived at the designated location. By this time, the other nine followers had also gathered, waiting for his command.
“My Lord, the battlefield lies below us. Per your orders, I refrained from taking action, but it appears the Hell species down there won’t be able to hold out much longer,” the God of Werewolves reported.
“Additionally, I’ve noticed something extremely unsettling about those invading creatures. Just looking at them fills me with an intense sense of discomfort, almost as if… even my soul rejects their presence.”
His voice was grim, and his expression reflected shock. It mirrored the feelings Sterl himself had experienced earlier—an unnatural revulsion unlike anything they had encountered before.
“Though their aura is weak, and I could likely crush many of them with a single blow, the sensation is overwhelmingly disturbing,” the God of Werewolves continued.
Sterl nodded in understanding. He questioned the other gods, only to receive nearly identical responses. All of them felt the same inexplicable soul-level aversion to the creatures.
Turning his gaze downward, Sterl surveyed the scene below. They were positioned atop a towering mountain range, overlooking a vast canyon that stretched as far as the eye could see.
Not far from the canyon, a violent conflict was underway. Yet, to call it a “war” felt inappropriate—it was more akin to a slaughter.
A countless number of strange, silver-white creatures resembling spiders swarmed forward like a silvery tidal wave, crushing everything in their path with ruthless efficiency.
The sheer numbers and eerie coordination of these invaders made it clear: this was no ordinary enemy. This was annihilation incarnate.
On the opposite side of the silver tide was a coalition army composed of native Hell species from Venomous Swamp Hell.
The coalition soldiers were struggling to resist the onslaught of the Silver Spiders. It was worth noting that this was Hell—here, even the weakest of soldiers were at the second class level of power, and the majority had achieved third class strength.
Among them, some elite warriors were on the verge of reaching legendary status. Such a force, placed on a world like Alpha 8, would easily be considered an overwhelmingly powerful army.
Even without the support of formations or enchantments, the sheer number of over a million soldiers could wreak havoc and devastation.
Yet, these formidable troops appeared helpless in the face of the Silver Spiders’ assault.
Each Silver Spider moved with speed approaching the upper limits of third class power. Their attacks were accompanied by a faint gray glow emanating from their legs and fangs, effortlessly piercing through armor and scales, shredding flesh with terrifying ease.
What made matters worse was their resilience. Even if struck and deformed, these creatures seemed unkillable, continuing their ferocious attacks regardless of their condition.
They resembled an unstoppable puppet army, impervious to fatigue, pain, or even death itself.
With every passing second, the coalition army suffered heavy casualties.
Though their numbers had once exceeded a million, days of relentless combat had whittled them down to a final contingent of elite soldiers still holding the line.
Sterl’s experienced eyes quickly assessed the battlefield and estimated how long the coalition could last.
An hour, he concluded. In one more hour, this remaining force would be utterly broken and consumed.
However, behind this beleaguered army, Sterl could sense several powerful presences still lurking, some even possessing strength comparable to that of gods.
Of course, to Sterl, these beings were no more than ants. After all, he had already slain dozens of gods in his time, including even high-ranking deities. Such strength was hardly remarkable to him.

But this was only the fourth layer of Hell. Below this layer were even more powerful Hell species.
“My Lord, should we intervene?” Boris asked respectfully, glancing at Sterl.
“No rush,” Sterl replied, shaking his head. “Let’s wait and see. I want to know if these invaders have hidden reserves of strength.”
Sterl’s tone was calm, but his reasoning was clear. If even these Hell species still had hidden trump cards, there was no reason to believe the invaders lacked stronger forces waiting to be unleashed.
Even though the chances of encountering danger in this layer were almost zero for him, Sterl knew it was always better to exercise caution.
Just then, all the Silver Spiders let out a piercing, synchronized screech. It was as though they had received some mysterious command, and their charge suddenly accelerated dramatically.
The already struggling coalition forces immediately showed dozens of breaches in their lines, and it seemed they were on the verge of being overrun.
However, in the next moment, an enraged roar echoed from the rear of the coalition army.
A Venomous Twin-Tailed Lizard, over ten meters tall and covered in heavy, armored scales, surged onto the battlefield.
Unlike the average Two-Tailed Lizardmen, this one looked less grotesque but far more ferocious and menacing. Its aura revealed it had reached the legendary level of power—and not just any legendary rank, but a high-level legendary tier!
Following its charge, over a hundred other legendary-tier warriors from various Hell species joined the fray.
But that wasn’t all. Suddenly, a wave of Law Power manifested in the skies above the battlefield. A demigod-level entity had made its move.
Among the new arrivals were:
A Venomous Mist Serpentfolk, over thirty meters long and shrouded in thick, toxic mist.
A member of the Evil Treant race, its twisted, branch-like body radiating malevolence.
And the most imposing figure of all: a Swamp Giant Crocodile over a hundred meters in length, brimming with an aura that came dangerously close to that of a god.
These beings were the most powerful representatives of their respective species in Venomous Swamp Hell, each having mastered Law Power and achieved demigod-tier strength.
For a moment, the battlefield was suffused with Law Power, forming a web-like structure in the air. This Law Web sought to suppress and attack any creatures not belonging to the Hell species.
Yet, what happened next took Sterl completely by surprise.
The Silver Spiders began to emit a faint gray mist from their bodies, which effortlessly neutralized the effects of the Law Web. They appeared entirely unaffected by the demigods’ suppression.
Not only that, but the Silver Spiders, instead of focusing on the ordinary soldiers around them, turned their attention entirely to the demigods. With an almost unsettling fervor, they abandoned the weaker targets and launched themselves directly at the strongest enemies on the battlefield.
“What kind of power is this?”
Sterl’s eyes narrowed as he activated Star Insight, an ability capable of probing even gods. Yet, to his astonishment, when it scanned the Silver Spiders, it could only discern vague attributes. All other information about their abilities was completely obscured.
Refusing to accept this, Sterl activated Soul Prison’s Eerie Eyes to utilize Soul Insight. But the moment he looked deeper, his heart skipped a beat.
“This… how is this possible?”
For the first time in a long while, Sterl felt a faint chill creep into his mind. Something about these creatures defied the very nature of existence as he understood it.
Sterl’s eyes widened in shock. Soul Insight, capable of peering into the essence of any living being’s soul, revealed something unimaginable: the Silver Spiders had only the faintest trace of a soul!
Any creature possessing intelligence should, by nature, have a complete soul. Yet, the Silver Spiders’ souls amounted to a mere fraction—barely one percent of what a normal mortal’s soul would be.
Moreover, Sterl couldn’t detect any negative emotions from their essence. It was as if their souls were nothing more than hollow shells designed solely to sustain their bodies, entirely devoid of independent thought.
This discovery completely defied Sterl’s expectations. He inspected dozens more Silver Spiders’ souls, only to find consistent results.
Some of the Silver Spiders’ souls were even less than one-thousandth the strength of a normal human’s!
By all logic, such weak souls wouldn’t even be sufficient to sustain the bodies of lowly insects, let alone these Silver Spiders. Yet not only were they functioning, but they were also capable of slaughtering third-class beings and even ignoring the Law Power of demigods!
The weight of this revelation struck Sterl like a hammer to the chest. The existence form of the Silver Spiders was unlike anything he had ever seen or heard of. It was fundamentally incompatible with the laws of this world. Creatures like these simply should not exist.
Taking a deep breath, Sterl steadied himself. For the first time, he felt a faint, intangible pressure emanating from these bizarre spiders—a sense of genuine threat.
Suppressing the shock in his heart, Sterl continued to observe the battlefield below. He was determined to see just how far these Silver Spiders could push their capabilities.
The demigods, too, were visibly shaken. They had constructed the Law Web, yet it had proven utterly ineffective. However, they had no time to ponder this development.
Suddenly, the Silver Spiders’ speed surged to levels comparable to low-tier legendary entities. In the blink of an eye, they swarmed to the demigods’ feet.
Without hesitation, the spiders began crawling up their massive bodies, their fangs and limbs launching relentless, frenzied attacks.
The demigods’ expressions twisted into shock and disbelief. They had assumed their demigod bodies, reinforced by Divine Power, would render them invulnerable to these ant-like spiders.
But to their horror, the faint gray mist surrounding the Silver Spiders began corroding their Divine Power and physical forms.
In mere moments, under the relentless swarm and overwhelming attack density, the once-impenetrable Divine Power barriers protecting the demigods became tattered and broken. Worse, visible wounds began appearing on their bodies.
“GET OFF ME!!” one of the demigods roared, their voice echoing across the battlefield.
But the spiders showed no fear, no hesitation—they pressed their attack with even greater intensity.
