Chapter 755: Chapter 755: Egg of Chaos! The Remains of the Mother Goddess?
It took quite some time for Sterl’s emotions to settle down.
However, looking at the treasure vault, which had been almost completely emptied, he still felt a deep sense of pain in his heart.
He had long coveted the royal castle’s treasure vault. Whether it was the Starry Battle Armor, the Illusory Dream, the Dream Orb, or other such items, they were all treasures obtained from this vault.
Some of them appeared ordinary, but with the enhancement of the cheat, they could unleash unexpectedly powerful effects.
At this point, though, there was no use in lamenting. All he could do was accept it. At least, the remaining items were still worth an astronomical sum.
After all, this was the accumulation of resources from the entire nation of Orichalcum, gathered over countless years from the lower realms.
Even if it was just the tip of the iceberg, it would be enough to overwhelm most of the forces in the lower realms with its wealth.
Sterl made a silent vow in his heart. Once his strength grew, he would personally journey to the upper realms and make sure to repay the Orichalcum nation’s actions today tenfold.
Taking a deep breath, Sterl waved his hand lightly.
With the power granted by the highest authority of the royal castle, the disordered treasure vault quickly began to reorganize under a mysterious force.
In just a moment, the large vault had been tidied up, with precious items neatly stacked in place as before.
However, compared to before, it looked much emptier.
Furthermore, with the backing of the highest authority, all the items that had previously been sealed were now unsealed. Sterl was not only able to freely view the information of these items but could also use them at will.
With a gentle gesture, a map that had been placed on top appeared in his hand.
Traveler’s Map
Category: Map/Unique
Description: A tool drawn with divine blood by a god who once traveled the mortal realm. The ink markings slowly shift and update according to the holder’s location. In the past, it was considered a priceless treasure for lost souls, guiding those who had lost their way.
Effect: Displays all terrain within a 100-mile radius and marks one safe location. Once the safe location is selected, a safe zone will be generated within a 100-meter radius. In this zone, damage taken is reduced by 99%, and the user’s maximum health regenerates 1% per second, while the maximum mana regenerates 0.5% per second.
…
Sterl examined the Traveler’s Map in his hand. Its effects were quite good, making it a top-tier tool for exploration and survival for most players.
However, for Sterl, this item was little more than a common toy.
As for the safety zone it generated, forget about them—even for an ordinary god, it was nothing but a joke.
A single strike from a god would exceed the map’s tolerance limits. The 99% damage reduction would have no effect whatsoever.
This was, in itself, quite normal. The [Transcendence] system’s description was also a vague function, and everything had its own limits. The creator of this map was only a god, so of course, the tool they created would have limitations as well.
After tossing the map aside, Sterl picked up a small, teal-colored vase.
Vessel of Green Vines
Category: Special
Description: A delicately carved small pot, its surface covered in ever-green vines that never wither. The mouth of the pot always exudes the fragrance of earth and rain. It is said to be a gift from the goddess of agriculture to a mortal druid, later revered by followers in the divine realm as a symbol of the bond between the god and their followers.
Effect: It can gather ‘Water of Life’ three times per day. When poured onto the land, it instantly accelerates plant growth, with a certain chance to activate the plant’s extraordinary properties or enhance its natural effects. It can also flow to wash and heal the body, curing injuries, dispelling curses, and purging dark energy.
Note: The Water of Life is undrinkable, as doing so will cause irreversible life distortion!

“Trash.”
Sterl expressionlessly tossed the Vessel of Green Vines into the corner, feeling somewhat frustrated.
In his view, this was even more useless than the Traveler’s Map.
The whole “bond between god and followers” story was clearly just the goddess of agriculture casually creating something to appease her followers and show off her divine power.
Calling it an extraordinary item was a stretch—it was just a useless trinket, the kind that was more of a nuisance than anything.
But since it was a divine item, it was kept in the royal castle’s vault. Otherwise, such trash would’ve been forcibly reclaimed long ago.
Having spent some time in the royal castle’s vault, Sterl had gained a clear understanding of its contents.
It was essentially a mixed bag. There were powerful ancient treasures, and even some divine relics, like the Thunder Abyss he had obtained earlier. The energy contained within it alone was an extremely vast quantity.
But there were also completely useless keepsakes, like the Traveler’s Map, the Vessel of Green Vines, and some other odd items he had previously drawn.
In short, if one were to randomly pick, the loot from the royal castle’s vault completely depended on luck. A fortunate pick might yield a fortune, while a bad pick could result in the acquisition of some debuffing items, losing out entirely.
Of course, with his royal castle’s highest authority, Sterl didn’t need to pick things out himself one by one.
With a thought, a semi-transparent light screen appeared in front of him.
On the light screen above, various items from the vault were displayed in an orderly manner, arranged from top to bottom. With just a thought, Sterl could instantly access the information and effects of these items.
“Arrange all items by their value, from highest to lowest.”
Immediately, the items on the list were reorganized, and Sterl disregarded the trinkets at the bottom, focusing on the first item on the list.
Spindle of Fate
Category: Special
Description: A small spinning wheel crafted from Fate’s golden ingots, with semi-transparent golden threads wound around the spindle. Each thread corresponds to the fate of a living being. In myth, this is the divine artifact of the God of Fate, which was severely damaged during a special catastrophe and has since lost much of its power.
Effect:
Foreknowledge:
By consuming one thread of fate, you can predict the future and past of any living being. The fate predicted is certain to occur.
(A single thread of fate can only predict one possible destiny from countless outcomes. More threads can be consumed to predict multiple possible fates with varying chances of occurrence.)
Rewrite:
After foreseeing the fate of a being, you can rewrite their fate’s trajectory. However, forcefully altering fate will bring about karmic backlash, the intensity of which depends on the extent of the change.
(The user will gradually become entangled in the “threads of fate,” becoming part of the spinning wheel.)
Reversal:
This ability is permanently lost due to the damage to the Spindle of Fate.
Note: This is a fate-bound object, capable of either aligning with or rewriting fate, but only if you can withstand the backlash of destiny.
…
Compared to the previous trash, the Spindle of Fate on the first page was clearly not on the same level. Both its origin and its effects were immensely powerful.
Such items were incredibly rare. If used wisely, they could alter the course of fate itself. However, if the user was not strong enough, the backlash from fate could not even be endured by gods.
“It’s a shame, the Spindle of Fate is too badly damaged,” Sterl said with a hint of regret.
Clearly, compared to the foreknowledge and rewriting abilities, the third ability of the Spindle of Fate, Reversal, was the most powerful feature.
Unfortunately, this ability was no longer usable due to the Spindle’s damage. Otherwise, this would have undoubtedly been a Concept Level artifact!
“Special catastrophe?”
As he studied the description, Sterl’s eyes narrowed slightly. For some reason, his mind conjured images of the strange void creatures that had invaded the underworld.
His intuition told him that the “special catastrophe” that caused the Spindle of Fate’s damage had a deep connection with the great calamity that was about to arrive.
“Could it be that this great calamity is not the first to descend?”
He thought to himself. This wasn’t an unreasonable thought. From the attitudes of the gods of the Orichalcum nation, it was clear that they had some understanding of the great calamity. They had clearly encountered it before, or at least read about it in records. Otherwise, they wouldn’t be so fearful and desperate.
The fact that even the Spindle of Fate had been damaged in such a way showed how terrifying that catastrophe had been.
And now, after many years, the great calamity was about to descend again. It was likely to be even more terrifying in scale than the previous one.
Without taking out the Spindle of Fate, Sterl turned his attention to the next item.
Egg of Chaos
Category: Special
Description: A mysterious, unknown giant egg, obtained by chance in the void abyss. It seems to possess some distorted life force. Legend says it is a relic from the battle with the Ancient One, possibly the remains of the Chaos Mother Goddess, and it may contain the power of the abyss…
Effect: …Unknown… (According to the explorations of the Orichalcum nation, the Egg of Chaos can hatch the deepest desires of the user’s heart. It might bring forth divine beasts and auspicious creatures, or it could give birth to unspeakable disasters. It has undergone 13,978 unsuccessful hatchings.)
…
A melon-sized, pitch-black egg appeared in his hand.
The surface was extremely hard, like a special, unusual stone. It was covered in numerous blood-red markings. The most bizarre thing was that this egg actually pulsed like a heart, beating rhythmically in an eerie manner.
“Egg of Chaos, the remains of the Chaos Mother Goddess?”
Sterl gently squeezed the egg in his hand. It was incredibly hard. Even after using nearly half of his strength, he couldn’t crush it.
To put it in perspective, this amount of force was enough to crush a newly ascended upper-tier divine authority!
And who was the Chaos Mother Goddess?
She was, in myth, a great and ancient deity! Named for chaos, she wielded supreme chaotic power, even older than the founding gods of the Orichalcum nation.
If the Egg of Chaos was truly the remains of the Chaos Mother Goddess, didn’t that mean she had already fallen?
Sterl couldn’t be sure, but one thing was certain: the value of this Egg of Chaos was incredibly high. In his eyes, it was even more precious than the Spindle of Fate!
