Beast Evolution Forge - Chapter 122
Chapter 122: New System
A few months went by with everything going smoothly. A new system was introduced, there were no more guilds, only one massive organization called The Broken Empire. The name came from their section’s history – once the poorest, most downtrodden part of the continent, mocked by other sections as “the broken ones.” But under Vell’s leadership, they took that insult and turned it into their strength.
The Broken Empire stood as a testament that even those considered worthless could rise and build something powerful.
What was once the slums began to thrive. The training programs brought in not just combat skills, but trade skills too. Players who were once too poor to eat now ran shops, crafted items, and earned steady income through the tax-free zones. The dungeons that other guilds hoarded were now open to all, letting even the weakest players grow stronger.
Various ranks were also introduced: Ruler, generals, captains and warriors. Each rank had its own responsibilities and privileges, but unlike the old guild system, advancement was based purely on merit and contribution to the community, not wealth or connections.
Vell, of course, held the position of Ruler, though he preferred to spend his time training others rather than sitting in meetings. Under him were five generals, each responsible for different aspects of the empire: Combat, Economy, Infrastructure, Intelligence, and Education.
Ada had quickly risen to become one of these generals, heading the Combat division. Her control over corrupted mana had grown impressively, and she proved to be an excellent teacher, especially for those struggling with unusual or difficult-to-control powers.
Young Alex, much to everyone’s surprise, had been appointed as her assistant, his dedication and quick learning earning him the position despite his low initial rank.
Leading Intelligence was Yenna, her natural abilities making her perfect for security and information gathering. She kept a particularly close eye on Sara’s group, though their activities had grown notably quieter in recent months.
The training grounds had expanded significantly, now occupying several districts. Different areas focused on different skills – from basic combat to advanced mana control, from crafting to dungeon survival tactics.
The sound of practice and learning filled the air from dawn to dusk.
Vell stood at his office window, watching the bustling streets below. The town had changed so much in such a short time. Players who once skulked in shadows now walked proudly in daylight. The desperate hunger that once haunted every face had been replaced by purpose, determination.

He smiled at the numbers. Everything was proceeding exactly as planned. The system’s warnings about corruption levels didn’t concern him – he and Ada had proven that corruption could be controlled, even harnessed for the benefit of all.
A knock at his door interrupted his thoughts.
“Enter,” he called, not turning from the window.
“Sir,” it was Henry, now a captain in the Infrastructure division. “The new dungeon mapping project is complete. We’ve identified all major resource points and established safe routes for beginner parties.”
“Good. Make sure the training schedules are updated to include the new areas.” He finally turned to face Henry. “How are the people responding to the changes?”
Henry’s face lit up with pride. “Honestly, sir? I’ve never seen anything like it. Even the ones who were skeptical at first… well, it’s hard to argue with results. The Broken Empire isn’t just surviving anymore – we’re thriving.”
“And Sara’s group?”
A slight hesitation. “Still active, but… different. They’re not calling for rebellion anymore. Instead, they’ve started some kind of… watchdog organization? They monitor our activities, publish reports about the changes. Critical sometimes, but… constructive.”
Vell’s smile widened. “Perfect. That’s exactly what we need – people who question, who watch carefully. It keeps us honest.” His eyes glowed faintly. “Make sure they have access to all public records. Let them watch and learn.”
“Yes, sir.” He paused at the door. “Sir? Some of us were wondering… what’s next? We’ve accomplished so much already…”
“Next?” His mana stirred under his skin, eager and hungry. “Next, we show the other sections what the ‘broken ones’ can really do. But first…” He created a small ball of compressed mana in his hand, watching it pulse with dark energy. “First, we make sure every single person here reaches their full potential. No exceptions.”
With a determined look on his face, he bowed “Yes sir.”
After Henry left, Vell returned to the window. Below, he could see Alex leading a group of new players through basic sword forms. The boy’s form was perfect now, his movements precise and confident.
In another training yard, Ada was demonstrating advanced mana control to a captivated audience. The corrupted mana in their veins pulsed in harmony, it was slow but progress was being made.
Later that day, while reviewing resource allocation reports in his office, a guard burst through the door, breathing heavily.

“Sir! We have a situation at the eastern gate!”
Vell barely looked up from his papers. “What kind of situation?”
“There are… children, sir, two of them. They’re demanding to see you and…” the guard shifted uncomfortably, “threatening to, uh, destroy everything if we don’t comply.”
A deep chuckle escaped Vell’s throat. “Let me guess – one’s wearing all black, with a sword bigger than they are, and the other hasn’t stopped smiling?”
The guard’s eyes widened. “Yes, sir! How did you-”
“Those would be my kids.” He stood up, darkness swirling around him playfully. “Always making an entrance.”

‘Bruh, they’re my children, maybe this system upgrade was not needed.’
When he reached the eastern gate, he found a scene of controlled chaos. His two children had the guards cornered, their corrupted mana crackling around them like dark lightning.
“Dad!” Sia called out cheerfully, waving while maintaining her attack stance. “We found you!”
“I can see that,” he replied dryly. “Mind letting my guards go? They’re actually quite useful.”
Mia, dressed in black, crossed her arms. “They wouldn’t let us in.”
“That’s literally their job.” But he was smiling as he said it. “Stand down, everyone. These two are family.”
The guards quickly retreated, looking relieved.
The girls wasted no time, turning back into their slime forms and jumping onto his shoulders, rubbing their bodies against his cheeks. “We missed you dad, very much.”
‘They are warm and they have grown bigger…’ He smiled warmly, “I missed you too, welcome back… sorry to have given you such a dangerous and long mission.”
He carried them back to his office and sat them down and the sofa while he got them some drinks and food. He sat next to them as they ate with happy expressions.
“Oh right, the mission.” Mia remembered while gulping a piece of meat.
“Did you learn anything?”
“The other sections are exactly as you suspected,” Mia reported, “They’re starting getting nervous about our growth.”
Sia nodded enthusiastically, her usual smile in place. “But they’re also intrigued! Some of the lower-ranked players there have started asking questions about our training programs.”
“Divided,” Mia said. “The Thunder Section wants to establish diplomatic relations. The Crystal Section is taking a wait-and-see approach. But…” her expression darkened, “the Dragon Section is mobilizing.”
Ada entered with reports. Her eyes widened at the sight of the girls.
“Oh, Ada,” he gestured, “meet Mia and Sia. They’re… well, they’re my daughters.”
Ada bowed slightly, her corrupted mana recognizing the similar energy in the girls. “An honor. I’ve heard stories about your infiltration abilities.”
“Oh!” Sia bounced excitedly. “You’re the new general Dad mentioned in his messages! Your mana feels just like his!”
“Focus,” he interrupted, though his tone was gentle. “Tell me more about the Dragon Section.”
Mia pulled out a small crystal and placed it on his desk. Images flickered above it – troop movements, weapons stockpiles, training exercises. “They’re preparing for war. Their leader, Commander Ryu, sees us as a threat to the old order.”
“More like a threat to his profit margins,” Sia added, her smile turning sharp. “We found evidence that he’s been skimming resources from his own people for years. If they learn about our success…”
“His power base crumbles,” he finished. He studied the crystal’s images thoughtfully. “Ada, how are our defense preparations coming along?”
“The outer walls are fully mana-reinforced, and all citizens above warrior rank have completed basic defense training. The new barrier system is operational, though we haven’t tested it at full power.”
[Alert-]
‘Yeah, I sense it.’
His eyes narrowed. “Sia, take the west tunnel. Mia, the east. Someone’s trying to be clever.”
The girls vanished instantly, their slime forms melting into the shadows.
“Sir?” Ada questioned, her mana responding to his tension.
“It seems we have uninvited guests.” He created a small viewing portal, showing the tunnel systems beneath the city. “Probably Dragon Section scouts, testing our defenses.”
Through the portal, they watched as Mia and Sia efficiently cornered and captured two black-clad figures. The intruders tried to fight back with advanced mana techniques, but against the girls’ power, they stood no chance.
“Bring them to the questioning chamber,” he commanded through the portal. “Gently, girls. We want them able to talk.”
He turned to Ada. “Call an emergency meeting of the generals. It’s time to accelerate our plans.”
As Ada left to send the messages, Vell walked to his window again. The peaceful scene below – players training, trading, living without fear – had been hard-won. He wouldn’t let anyone threaten it.
“I was expecting the biggest section to make a move but i guess they don’t see us as a threat,” He began laughing villainously, “I swear, I will pay you back the shame I have suffered, no matter what.”
