Chapter 132: The Flares Target Dreston
Magnus and Dreston walked side by side toward the administration office.
Though they had both passed the Platinum Class evaluation, they were still tense toward each other.
Unbeknownst to them, a figure watched from the side. A woman with blue hair leaned against a wall.
A smirk appeared on her face as she muttered. “Perfect. We can use this for our plan.”
She turned around and immediately left both of them. She was going to meet her other companions.
—
Inside a storage room within the Golden Complex, Red Flare and Yellow Flare met up. They didn’t smile at all, meaning they didn’t get any useful info.
Red Flare glanced around impatiently. “Where is Blue Flare? Why is she later?”
Yellow Flare leaned against the wall and shrugged. “I don’t know. She didn’t say anything about being delayed.”
Red Flare frowned and growled. “Forget it for now. Did you find anyone in this division we could work with?”
Yellow Flare frustatedly shook his head. “No. The students here are ambitious, but none of them have what it takes to get us into the Platinum District. They’re all weaklings.”
Red Flare sighed heavily. “Same here. The Golden Class Evolists are too low-ranked and few to be of any use. Even those with potential are far from ready for this kind of job.”
Yellow Flare slammed his fist against the wall and cursed. “Damn it! We’re running out of time. If we don’t find someone soon—”
Before he could finish, Blue Flare appeared. She didn’t frown at all. Instead, she was smiling. It immediately drew Red and Yellow Flare attention.
Red Flare knew something was up. He smiled. “There you are. Where have you been? We’ve been waiting.”
Blue Flare stopped in front of them and smirked. “Relax, Red. I was in the Tamer Division. That’s why I’m late.”
Yellow Flare was confused as to why Blue Flare went there. “The Tamer Division? Why there?”
Red Flare narrowed his eyes. “And? Did you find anyone that was worth our time there?”
Blue Flare tilted her head and smirked. “Oh, I found someone. A student who just passed the Platinum Class evaluation. They’ll be moving into the Platinum District soon.”
Red Flare was surprised by it. “A fresh Platinum student? That’s exactly what we need. Someone ambitious, eager to prove themselves. Good work, Blue.”
Yellow Flare leaned forward slightly. He frowned a bit. “Are you sure they’ll cooperate?”
Blue Flare shrugged lightly. “That depends on how we approach them. But trust me, this one has potential.”
She then smirked. “They’re competitive and hungry for power—just the kind of person we can use.”
Red Flare nodded and smirked. “Good. Let’s meet this person and see what they’re made of.”
Blue Flare chuckled. She then immediately ran toward the target. “Follow me. I know exactly where to find them.”
The three Flares moved swiftly through the Golden Complex. They were tense as time was running out, and their goal was clear.
Soon, they arrived at the entrance of a Golden Residence. Red Flare turned to Blue Flare. “Which student are we dealing with?”
Blue Flare smirked. She casually rested her hands on her hips. “Dreston Velcour. He just lost a match but was still approved by the evaluator to advance to the Platinum Class.”
Red Flare frowned after hearing it. “Lost? Why would you choose the losing one? Why not approach the winner instead?”

Blue Flare raised her eyebrow. “The winner? The winner is Magnus Volcaria. He’s competitive, barbaric, loud, and hot-headed. We can’t work with someone like that.”
Yellow Flare grunted in agreement. “She’s right. Someone like him would never cooperate with us peacefully.”
Blue Flare nodded. “Exactly. But Dreston? He’s just lost a high-profile match. He’s angry, frustrated, and desperate. A person like that is far more useful to us.”
Blue Flare then clenched her fist and smirked. “He’ll be hungry for power—eager to do whatever it takes to get stronger. And that makes him easy to manipulate.”
Red Flare’s frown eased and then smirked. “You’ve got a point. He’s vulnerable. We can just show enough power in front of him to keep him hooked.”
Blue Flare chuckled. “Exactly. We don’t need him to succeed. We just need him to get us into the Platinum District. Once we’re in, he’s disposable.”
Yellow Flare crossed his arms and glanced at the residence. “So, what’s the plan? Wait for him to come back?”
Blue Flare took out a small set of tools from her spatial ring. “We don’t have time to waste. He’s on his way home, but we’ll be waiting for him inside.”
Without waiting for a response, she approached the gate. She easily manipulated the system and made the gate easily open. “Done.”
She smirked as she entered the residence. She gestured for the other two to follow her. “Let’s get inside.”
Red Flare and Yellow Flare exchanged brief glances before nodding and stepping through the gate.
The three of them moved quickly but quietly, entering the residence and closing the door behind them.
The interior was modest but well kept. Blue Flare surveyed the space briefly before gesturing toward the main hall. “We wait here. When he comes back, we make our move.”
Red Flare leaned against the wall and crossed his arms. “This should be interesting.”
Yellow Flare paced around the main hall. “Let’s make it quick. The sooner we get into the Platinum District, the better.”
Blue Flare smirked as she leaned back on the sofa. “Don’t worry. Dreston will do exactly what we want. He just doesn’t know it yet.”
The three Flares waited patiently, their expressions calm but their minds focused on the task ahead.
Not long after, the sound of hurried footsteps could be faintly heard from outside. The door was opened and Dreston Velcour stepped inside.
He was frustated. He could not believe that he lost to Magnus two times. “Damn that, Magnus. That arrogant fool… thinks he’s better than everyone. I’ll show him.”
He paused briefly and rubbed his temples as he tried to be calm. “I’ll get stronger. I’ll surpass him. Just wait…”
Unbeknownst to Dreston, three pairs of eyes were already locked on him, watching his every move.
The Flares, hidden in plain sight, exchanged silent glances. Their target had arrived.
