Chapter 154: A Base Beneath the Volcano
Lucius retrieved the other 2 vials from his spatial ring. Without hesitation, he tossed them to Luna and Liora. “Drink these. You’re both coming with me.”
Luna and Liora caught the vials effortlessly. They exchanged a brief glance and nodded.
Without hesitation, they uncorked the vials and drank the contents. The liquid went down smoothly.
Meanwhile, Savra approached Lucius one last time. “Be careful, Lucius. You might be confident, but this is enemy territory. Don’t take unnecessary risks.”
Lucius smirked. “Don’t worry about me, Matriarch. I know exactly what I’m doing.”
Savra could only nod. Without another word, she and Ragnar turned around and left Lucius and his maids to their task.
Once they were out of sight, Lucius smirked as he turned to the system. “System, make me, Luna, and Liora invisible to any 7-Star Tamers and below for 12 hours.”

Their bodies began to fade like Lucius before until they became completely invisible. Even their auras had vanished entirely. They were completely undetectable.
Lucius smirked as he turned to his two maids. “Let’s go. We have work to do.”
Without another word, the three of them jumped into the crater. The infiltration had begun.
They were then pushed gently by the rising hot air until they landed slowly onto the ground.
They then looked up to see that the crater walls stretched high above them. It almost disappeared.
Luna glanced upward and was surprised. “It’s deeper than I thought. No wonder the empire couldn’t find this place.”
Lucius smirked but remained silent. He scanned around and found a massive entrance that was guarded by armed soldiers.
Lucius gestured toward the entrance and whispered. “Let’s move and don’t worry. They won’t notice us.”
They began to walk toward the massive entrance and like Lucius said, none of the guards seemed to notice them. Even if they walked in front of them.
They easily slipped into the base without making a sound. Thanks to the system’s invisibility enhancement, Lucius, Luna, and Liora moved undetected.
Once inside, the sheer size of the underground base took them by surprise. The base wasn’t just a hideout. It was a fully functional facility, bustling with activity.
Lucius glanced around. He was quite impressed. “This isn’t just a group of thieves. This is a well-organized operation.”
He turned to Luna and Liora. “Spread out. Gather any information you can. Documents, overheard conversations or anything that might tell us what they’re planning.”
Luna and Liora nodded. Without another word, they slipped away and moved silently through the base.

Lucius remained still for a moment. He watched his maids disappear into the distance.
Once they were gone, Lucius smirked slightly to himself. “Time to get to work.”
He moved silently and scanned each section carefully. Most of the chambers he passed were filled with supplies or some operations.
Then he noticed a huge entrance. It was also heavily guarded, not like other chambers.
Lucius stopped a few steps away and observed the scene. He smirked. “Looks like I found the boss’s place.”
Without wasting time, he moved closer. He could also easily enter it as the path was wide open. There was no door that was put here.
He glanced at the guards one more time. The guards didn’t show any signs of detecting him. “Good. They’re clueless.”
He slipped past them effortlessly and stepped through the grand hallway. Inside, the air changed. It was denser and hotter.
Lucius smirked as he thought that he was in the right place. “Now, let’s see what secrets you’re hiding.”

Liora was moving silently through the corridors. She wasn’t sure exactly where she was heading, but something had caught her attention.
She could see a lot of people that were going into one place. She was wondering where they were going, so she chose to follow them.
She easily blended with them, as none of them could notice her. She was literally invisible.
She then followed them to a massive hall. Inside it, several people were engaged in fierce combat. All of them used either weapons or fused with beasts.
She also realized that all of them were either 4-Star or 5-Star Tamers. They were basically trained to fight or assassinate someone.
Liora leaned against a nearby pillar and observed carefully. “So, they have this kind of training here…”
She began to think about her previous encounter with the three thieves that tried to steal the Red Dragon Blood Essence at the academy.
She put her hand on her chin. “It seems that I didn’t fight with them last time, as they basically tried to run.”
She crossed her arms and looked at the tamers that were training below. “I wonder how strong they are if we fight for real.”
She then smirked as she saw them fight with each other. Every strike, every dodge, and every coordinated attack drew her attention.
She began to silently approach them. “Let’s see how they fight and maybe I can pick up a few tricks here and there… and figure out how to beat them faster and more easily next time.”
Every clash gave her more insight and ideas about how to counter each tactic. She wasn’t just watching for fun.
She was mentally preparing every scenario where she might have to fight opponents like these.
She continued to watch and smirk. “The next time we meet anyone from this group, I will be ready and stronger.”
—
Meanwhile, Luna moved quietly through the corridors. Unlike Liora, she hadn’t noticed any specific areas of interest yet.
She didn’t know exactly where to go but she trusted her instincts. “Just keep moving until something stands out.”
She then realized a place that felt unusual. It was a long hallway but it was empty and quiet. There were almost no guards stationed along the corridor.
Luna was immediately interested. “Strange. Why would they leave an area like this unguarded?”
She stepped forward. She could feel something different about this place. “I don’t know about it, but still, this could just be a storage place.”
She tilted her head slightly, considering her options. After a brief moment, she shrugged. “Let’s just go. Even if I don’t find anything useful, Master will surely gather better information.”
With that, she continued down the hallway. She didn’t know what to expect. Whether it was a good or bad thing, she was ready for whatever lay ahead.
