Chapter 163: Lucius Unveils a Shocking Secret in Volcaria’s Vault

Lucius, Luna, and Liora followed Savra down the long corridor until they arrived at a massive door.

Savra stepped forward and pulled out a plaque from her spatial ring. She pressed it against a glowing panel beside the door.

The door was then slowly opened up and revealed the contents of the Volcaria Treasury.

Lucius smirked as they stepped inside. Lucius could sense that there were quite a lot of high-level materials here.

There were a lot of 5-Star materials and only some of them were 6-Stars. Lucius was interested in absorbing all of them, but this was his backers.

Lucius turned to Liora and praised it. “The quality here is impressive. It was better than what Garrans had. It was a very large difference.”

Savra glanced at him and smirked faintly. “Naturally. Volcaria prides itself on its strength.”

She led them deeper into the Treasury and stopped near a heavily protected section. “All we know is that Red Dragon materials are at least 7-Star level.”

Savra then gestured toward the glass box that had something inside it. “But our collection of 7-Star materials is limited to just this one.”

The item inside it was an obsidian sphere that seemed to be encased by a swirling mass of molten rock. There were also some faint cracks around it that emitted a fiery red glow.

Savra stepped forward and placed her hand on the glass box. “This is a 7-Star Volcano Core. We found it deep within this volcano years ago, and it’s been one of our greatest treasures ever since.”

Lucius approached the glass box to examine the Volcano Core closely. He could feel the heat from it.

It was undoubtedly a rare and valuable item, but something about it didn’t match what he had seen and known about the Red Dragon materials.

Lucius stepped back and turned to Savra. “So, is this the only 7-Star material you have?”

Savra nodded. “Yes. As far as we know, there are no other 7-Star materials in our possession. Everything else is 6-Star and below.”

Lucius rubbed his chin thoughtfully. He glanced around and smirked. “I see, if that’s the case, then let’s check around, shall we? Just to be sure.”

Savra raised her eyebrow but nodded nonetheless. “Fine. Look around if you want. I doubt you’ll find anything else at 7-Star level, but it doesn’t hurt to be thorough.”

Lucius then began to move through the room. He examined the shelves and sections carefully. He was scanning for anything out of place.

Lucius then suddenly found something interesting. It was a strange heart-shaped stone that was put among other rare materials.

It had a weathered, fossilized texture. He could sense something strange from this fossil and that’s what attracted his attention.

He picked it up and turned to Savra. He held it up for Savra to see. “Did you know something about this heart fossil?”

Savra glanced at it. She thought for a moment and quickly recognized it. “That’s a fossil we found in this volcano a long time ago, around the same time we discovered the Volcano Core.”

She then explained. “Given its location, we assumed it was the fossilized heart of some ancient beast, but it’s been so weakened over time that we never paid it much attention.”

Lucius examined it closely. He ran his fingers along its rough surface. “I see, an ancient beast’s heart… or perhaps something more.”

Without another word, he retrieved a special jar-like container from his spatial ring. He then carefully placed the fossilized heart inside it.

He also added a unique liquid into the jar. After he was done with it, he turned to the system. “System, hack this fossilized heart. Restore its appearance to a fresh state and reignite its aura.”

Despite the sting of the price, he didn’t hesitate. He selected [YES], knowing the value of what he was about to reveal.

The fossil began to change before their eyes. The rough surface began to smooth out. The dull brown color was replaced by a vibrant red color.

They could also sense that the aura from the heart began to appear. Savra was immediately surprised the moment she sensed the level of the aura.

Savra glanced at Lucius. She walked toward him and shouted. “What the—? How is that possible? It suddenly became a fresh heart again… and that aura. It’s definitely 7-Star.”

Lucius smirked. He held up the jar containing the restored material. “This is one of the materials they’re searching for. The Red Dragon Heart.”

Savra was stunned and stared at him. “To think it was really here all along… But how did you do that? How did you make the heart look new again?”

Lucius maintained his composure and answered. “I used a special restoration potion that I created from numerous rare ingredients.”

He glanced back at the heart. “I suspected there might be something unusual about this heart, so I took a gamble and used my only dose of the potion. It pained me to use it, but… it looks like I was right.”

Though Lucius’s explanation was a complete lie, he delivered it so convincingly that Savra had no reason to doubt him.

Savra nodded slowly. She was really amazed by him. “I see. If that’s the case, I’ll make sure to compensate you for your loss. That potion must’ve been extremely valuable.”

Lucius smiled faintly and laughed hard in his mind. “Thank you. I appreciate it.”

Savra turned back to the heart. She studied it for a moment before becoming serious and turning to Lucius. “Something about this is strange.”

Lucius noticed her shift in demeanor. He smirked faintly. “What is it, Matriarch? Just ask what you don’t understand and I’ll try to answer it.”
