Chapter 180: Volcaria’s Gambit
Ragnar descended from the crater wall. After he landed on the ground, he walked toward Liora.
He glanced briefly at Anselm and Feron, who were still struggling to recover from Tarron’s redirected attack, before turning back to Liora.
He then crossed his arms. “Liora, why did you do that to them? I know you could have dodged Tarron’s attack without letting it hit them.”
He gestured briefly toward Anselm and Feron. “From where I stood, it looked deliberate. You moved toward them on purpose, knowing they’d take the blow.”
Liora smirked faintly. She pointed her ear with her finger. “Because I heard what they were planning.”
She shrugged. “They wanted to kill me. To eliminate a potential future enemy because I’m a genius.”
Ragnar shook his head and sighed. “That does sound like something they’d do.”
He glanced briefly at Anselm and Feron, who were still trying to collect themselves. “Typical nobles. Always trying to cut down what they fear rather than nurture it.”
Liora smirked as she crossed her arms. “Exactly, but I wasn’t going to let them get away with it so easily. Besides… the final plan has officially started.”
Ragnar was surprised as he turned fully toward her. “The final plan? What are you talking about?”
Liora only smirked. “The Empire’s intentions toward the Volcaria family have been clear for a while now.”
Liora clenched her fist. “They don’t want peace with us. They want control. I’ve already told Master Lucius. He agrees. It’s time to act.”
Ragnar frowned as he processed her words. “And what exactly did you tell him to do?”
Liora smirked. “To stop holding back. The Volcaria family has played nice long enough. If the Empire sees us as a threat, then we’ll show them what a real threat looks like.”
Ragnar sighed deeply as he scracthed his head lightly. “Lucius always did enjoy these kinds of games.”
He shook his head before gesturing toward the deeper tunnels. “Fine. But first, let’s head deeper into the base.”
He raised one finger. “If we’re starting a war, we’ll need to make sure there’s nothing left of this place to pose a problem later.”
The two of them turned and moved deeper into the base, leaving the remnants of the battle behind.

Luna and Savra were moving swiftly through the dimly lit alleys of the Flame Wing City.
Their spatial rings were now filled to capacity, having looted an impressive haul from the Kryndal family’s 4-Star warehouses.
Savra smirked as she glanced at Luna. “We have really outdone ourselves this time. Those warehouses were practically begging to be plundered.”
Luna returned the smirk. “Yeah, we got a lot. To think that this was only the 4-Star warehouses. Makes me wonder just how much more we’d find in the higher-star ones.”
Savra chuckled softly and shook her head. “Not as much as you’d think. The higher-star warehouses are built to store rarer materials—5-Star and above.”
Savra then raised her finger to teach her. “But items like those are incredibly scarce. You won’t find them in bulk, even in Kryndal’s hub.”
Luna nodded. She stroked Loxen’s fur as she processed Savra’s words. “I see. So, they’re more about quality than quantity.”
She then glanced at Savra. “So, what’s next? Do we keep going, or is this enough?”
Savra stopped for a moment. She tilted her head slightly as she considered their options. “We’ve gotten plenty already. It’s time to return. No point in getting greedy when we’ve already hit the jackpot.”
Luna nodded in agreement. “Good point. Besides, Master will be pleased with what we’ve gathered. No need to risk overstaying our welcome.”

With a soft command, Luna turned to Loxen. The Silver Shadow Panther let out a low growl as it blended into the shadows. “Let’s head to the teleportation platform.”
Savra stretched slightly as she chuckled. “You know, for all their arrogance, the Kryndal family really doesn’t know how to guard their assets.”
She played with her spatial ring. “If this is how they protect their 4-Star warehouses, I can’t imagine how sloppy their lower ones are.”
Luna smirked. “Arrogance always blinds people to their vulnerabilities. But I’m not complaining. It just makes our job easier.”
The two of them moved silently through the city. They were now making their way toward the teleportation platform, which was outside the city.

Sevrina, Casey and their group had arrived at the Flame Wing City. Sevrina immediately turned to Casey and demanded. “Casey, where is it now?”
Sevrina clenched her fist. “We’ve used everything we had to get here quickly. We can’t afford to waste a second.”
Casey nodded. She pulled the artifact from her spatial ring again. She activated it and it displayed the current location of their target.
The moment she scanned the reading, she frowned as she saw its location.
She turned to Sevrina. “Elder, the artifact shows that the item is… moving. It’s heading toward the teleportation platform.”
Sevrina froze for a moment. She frowned as she processed Casey’s words. “Damn it. It’s just as I suspected. Someone’s been messing with us.”
She turned to the rest of the group and commanded them. “Quickly! We need to get to the teleportation platform now, before they get away. If they escape, finding the item again will be a hundred times harder.”
Casey immediately put the artifact back to her spatial ring and nodded. “Understood, Elder.”
The group moved quickly as they went out of the city. They were now going to the teleportation platform located outside the city.
Sevrina soon clenched her fists in anger as she glared at the path ahead. “Whoever is behind this, they’ve planned this well.”
She also growled in rage. “Every step, every move—it’s as if they knew exactly how to stay one step ahead of us.”
She took a deep breath, trying to calm her rising anger. “We can’t let them outmaneuver us again. Once we catch them, I want answers. No excuses, no lies—just answers.”
Casey, who was behind her, nodded without hesitation. “Understood, Elder. We’ll make sure they don’t escape.”
Sevrina glanced at her and nodded. “Good. Because if they do…”
Casey looked at the artifact for a moment and reported. “The platform isn’t far now. If we move quickly, we might be able to cut them off before they use it.”
Sevrina didn’t respond immediately. Instead, she exhaled through her nose as she refocused her energy. “If they’ve made it to the platform, we’ll have to act fast. No hesitation, no mistakes.”
Casey nodded again. “Don’t worry, we’ll make it in time—We have to.”
The group pressed on as they raced against time to intercept the mysterious thieves before they could vanish.
