Chapter 190: The Empire Celebrates Too Soon

Karion stumbled out of the crumbling base. Anthony was still unconscious in his arms.

Not far from the exit, Karion spotted Anselm, Drayton, Delano, and Feron sprawled on the ground.

He could see that they had just experienced a hard fight from their battered bodies.

Karion landed near them and tried to wake them all up. “Get up! We don’t have time to lie around. The entire volcano is about to erupt!”

Anselm groaned as he pushed himself up. He remembered that he and Feron entered the base to search for the others.

But they were too weak and injured and finally collapsed near Delano and Drayton that they found.

He was then surprised when he saw Karion was in front of him. “Karion? What happened?”

Karion snapped as he glared at the group. “No time for questions. Just run. Get as far from here as possible!”

Drayton managed to stand. “What about the others?The elders of the Red Dragon Order?”

Karion growled. “They’re gone and we’ll be too if we don’t move and escape from here now!”

Drelano and Feron exchanged brief glances before nodding. “Fine. Let’s get out of here.”

The group moved as quickly as their battered bodies would allow, Karion leading the way.

Anthony, still unconscious, was carried by Karion, who gritted his teeth against the strain and finally, they emerged from the base.

Karion looked behind and barked. “Keep moving! We’re not safe yet!”

The group surged forward with every ounce of strength they could muster. They were desperate.

Just as they reached the edge of the forest, the volcano erupted with a deafening roar.

A massive plume of molten fire and ash shot into the sky, the ground beneath them shaking violently.

Streams of lava poured down the mountain’s sides, consuming everything in their path.

Anselm leaned against a tree. His breaths were heavy. All of them had also reverted to their human form. They all looked ragged and battered.

Anselm then suddenly growled as he looked around. “Where’s that bitch, Liora? And Ragnar, the one who thought it was a good idea to bring her along?”

Delano, who sat on a nearby rock, frowned as he shook his head. “That brat had the nerve to humiliate all of us. Beating us down like we were nothing.”

Feron snorted. “The worst part? She didn’t even take us seriously. She was playing with us the whole time.”

Drayton glared at the ground and clenched his fists. “And Ragnar… the so-called strongest 7-Star tamer of the Empire. What a joke. Bringing her along just to mock us.”

Anselm was also frustated because of him. “Ragnar probably thought she was some kind of secret weapon. All he managed to do was bring a spoiled brat who made fools out of us.”

Feron crossed his arms and said sarcastically. “Some genius. She’s not a tamer. She’s a menace.”

Karion, who stood nearby, smirked as he put Anthony’s body to the ground. “Don’t worry about them. The volcano took care of everything.”

Anselm turned to Karion and frowned. “Are you sure about that? Both of them?”

Karion only smirked. “The volcano erupted. The entire base is buried under lava and ash. There’s no way Ragnar, Liora, or anyone else survived that.”

Drayton raised his eyebrow. “So, you’re saying we got rid of them and the Red Dragon Order at the same time?”

Karion smirked. “Exactly. Two birds with one stone. This mission is a complete success.”

The group exchanged glances. Anselm chuckled. “Serves them right. Ragnar, that arrogant bastard, and Liora, his little prodigy. They got what was coming to them.”

Feron nodded. “The Volcaria family thought they were untouchable. Let’s see how powerful they are when they’re buried under a mountain.”

They all began to laugh. For now, they believed the threat of Ragnar and Liora had been eliminated.

The Empire had dealt a decisive blow to both the Red Dragon Order and the Volcaria family.

But little did they know, their triumph was far from certain, as Ragnar and Liora were not even injured at all.

Lucius was in his personal lab. He was observing the Red Dragon Serum on the table, curiously.

He leaned back in his chair, tapping his fingers rhythmically against the armrest. “Too bad that my system can’t fully analyze this… It’s not classified as a beast.”

Lucius then stood up and turned away. “I suppose I’ll have to take the more direct route.”

Lucius immediately summoned 5-Star Flame Komodo from one of his 5-Star Beast Rings.

Lucius approached the beast with the Red Dragon Serum vial in his hand. “Let’s see what this serum will do to you.”

He prepared a syringe and carefully extracted a small amount of the serum. He then injected the serum into the Flame Komodo’s thick neck.

The reaction was immediate. The Flame Komodo roared as it began to tremble violently.

Red scales began to replace its former scales. Its claws elongated and became sharper.

Lucius stepped back. He focused as he observed the transformation. The beast thrashed wildly as it became increasingly enraged.

Lucius still remained clam. “Fascinating. “The serum enhances physical traits and aggression, but it’s unstable.”

Lucius immediately turned to his system and smirked. “Let’s calm him down, shall we? Make it sleep for 24 hours.”

Lucius approached the now-docile creature. He was examining its new form. “It appears the serum temporarily integrates traits of a red dragon.”

He then frowned as he thought about it more. “But still, the instability is a major flaw.”

Lucius turned his attention back to the rest of the Red Dragon Serum on the table.

He frowned as he thought about the group who made this serum. “But still, how can they make this potion?”

His fingers tapped lightly on the table as he pondered. “The Red Dragon Order had only energyless Red Dragon material. How?”
