Chapter 193: Would You Sacrifice a Hand for Ultimate Power?
Ragnar leaned forward slightly. He could see that Daton was a bit in a dilemma. “Daxton, let me tell you this. If you’re brave enough to take this chance…”
Ragnar extended his hand. “I’ll make sure that you will be taken care of if something goes wrong. You’ll live comfortably for the rest of your life. That’s my promise as Patriarch.”
Daxton glanced at Ragnar and furrowed as he heard the assurance Ragnar said. While the words offered some comfort, they didn’t fully quell the tension.
Lucius smirked as he heard what Ragnar had just said. He glanced at Daxton again and extended his hand again. “So, what do you think? Will you take the chance to become more powerful or stay like this for the rest of your life?”
Daxton sighed. He was pressured with the decision he needed to make. Finally, he nodded as he glanced at Lucius. “Yes, Young Master. I’ll do it. If this can make me stronger than I am now, then I’m willing to take the risk.”
Lucius smirked. He was quite amused by him. “Oh, you’re quite brave, aren’t you? It’s rare to see you like this.”
Daxton chuckled. “The truth is, I’m afraid. Anyone would be. But this is a chance to become better, to become more useful to Volcaria.”
He glanced briefly at Ragnar before adding, “And knowing the Patriarch has promised to take care of me if it fails… that helps.”
Lucius tilted his head slightly and smirked as he observed the man before him. “I see, you’re quite afraid, but you’re still willing to take the chance. That’s… admirable.”
Lucius also tried to calm him down. “Don’t worry. I will make sure that it doesn’t fail.”
Daxton nodded. His tension was a bit eased now. “I trust you, Young Master. Please don’t fail.”
Lucius smirked as he was satisfied with it. He turned his attention back to the system. “System, list me the 6-Star talents compatible with Daxton.”

[Hack Initiation: Talent Scanning and Selection
[Target: Daxton]
[Process: Scanning Current Compatibility and Searching for Available 6-Star Talents]
[Results:]
[Flame King Talent: 1,000,000 Hack Points]
[Lava King Talent: 1,000,000 Hack Points]
[Status: Scan and Search Complete]
—
Lucius read the results and smirked. “I see, his current talent is Flame Lord, so it makes sense that the natural progression would be Flame King. But Lava King? That’s interesting.”
He smirked as he glanced back at Daxton. “It must be due to the proximity to this volcano. The environment seems to influence compatibility.”
Lucius tilted his head as he read the price. “Still, the cost for both is the same. One million hack points each.”
He then chuckled. “I suppose it doesn’t matter which one I choose. Talents primarily determine the type of beasts he can tame for now.”
He immediately turned to the system again. He had already thought about how he could give the hack toward him without exposing the system. “System, convert the Lava King Talent into pill form and store it in the Eternal Vault.”

Lucius smirked as he read the system interface. It already succeeded in creating the talent pill.
He looked at the Eternal Vault screen and found out that there was a new pill there.
He smirked as he couldn’t believe that it really worked. “I never thought that it really worked.”
He then thought about the reason for this sudden idea. “If I can extract the temporary enhancement of the Red Dragon Serum back into its original form, it stands to reason I could convert a hack like this into a physical object. And now it’s confirmed. I’m truly a genius.”

Daxton, Savra, and Ragnar were currently exchanging confused glances as they observed Lucius.
After Daxton had agreed to join the sketchy experiment, Lucius had become silent.
He stood motionless with a smirk, still lingering on his face. There was no explanation for why he acted like that.
Ragnar immediately called him out to wake him up. “Lucius! What are you doing now? Aren’t you going to start the experiment?”
Lucius blinked, snapping out of his thoughts as he turned toward Ragnar. “Ah, my apologies. I was just… thinking about something.”
Savra raised her eyebrow as she was skeptical. “Thinking? You’ve been standing there, smirking like a maniac. Care to share what’s on your mind?”
Lucius chuckled as he turned his attention back to Daxton and smirked. “Of course. I am just thinking about what is needed for the experiment.”
Daxton straightened slightly as he glanced at Lucius. “What do you need, Young Master?”
Lucius smirked as he glanced toward Daxton’s right hand. “I need your blood.”
Daxton nodded without hesitation as he rolled up his sleeves. He was preparing to cut his arm a bit and offer his blood on the spot. “You got it.”
But before he could proceed, Lucius raised his hand to stop him. “Wait. Let me explain something before you do anything.”
Daxton paused as he glanced back at Lucius. Lucius then continued. “I need a bucket of your blood and not only that, I need your right hand.”
Daxton was shocked after hearing it. It was such an unexpected request. “A bucket of blood… and my right hand?”
Ragnar leaned forward and frowned as he shouted. “Lucius! What do you mean? What are you planning to do with something like that?”
Savra tilted her head as she glanced at Lucius and Daxton. “This experiment of yours is sounding more and more like a ritual.”
Lucius turned to Ragnar and Savra and smirked. “Relax. This is all necessary to increase the success rate.”
Lucius gestured toward Daxton’s right hand. “The blood and the hand will also ensure that the thing I create will belong solely to Daxton. No one else will be able to use it.”
He turned back to Daxton and smirked as he extended his hand. “It’s a small price to pay for the power you’ll gain, right? So, what do you say?”
Daxton frowned. He never considered the weight of the request. A bucket of blood was one thing.
He could recover from that in time. But his right hand? That was a sacrifice that could not be undone.
