Chapter 197: The Black Talent Stone Mystery
The talent stones in Ragnar and Savra’s hands began to change color. The red color had dimmed and been replaced by a deep black color.
Ragnar and Savra exchanged stunned glances. Ragnar stared at the black talent stone in disbelief. “I never knew that this color even existed.”
Savra nodded as she stared at her own black talent stone and then at Lucius. “Yeah. Did this color mean that our talents have truly become Emperor-Level?”
Lucius smirked as he observed their reactions. “That’s right, so congratulations. You’ve both ascended to a level few can even dream of.”
Across the room, Sevrina and Casey were stunned. They never thought that the black talent stone meant so much.
Finally, Sevrina broke the silence while trembling. “How is this possible? How can you upgrade your talent like that?!”
Lucius chuckled and smirked. “Yeah. Just how, right? It must seem impossible to you.”
Lucius then sat beside her and put his hand around her neck. “After all, your group has its own method, doesn’t it? A ritual to achieve Emperor-Level talent.”
The moment those words left Lucius’ lips, Sevrina and Casey stiffened in shock. Sevrina glared at Lucius. “How do you know about that?”
Lucius tilted his head slightly and smirked. “I have my own ways, but I must say that it’s a bit… sad, isn’t it?”
Sevrina frowned deeply as she heard what Lucius said. “Sad? What the hell are you talking about?”
Lucius chuckled softly. His finger tapped lightly against the floor. “The goal of your Red Dragon Order is to obtain Emperor-Level Talent—specifically, the Red Dragon Emperor Talent, right?”
Lucius then smirked as he extended his hand. “But to think there are others who can obtain Emperor-Level talents so easily…”
He then gestured toward Ragnar and Savra, then toward himself as he smirked. “Like us.”
Sevrina frowned even more as she processed Lucius’ words. “Now I know why you’re here.”
Lucius’ smirk widened as he tilted his head. “I see. That’s what you think, huh?”
Sevrina clenched her fists as she stared deeply at Lucius. “Just say what you want. You clearly don’t need our information. You’ve already proven that you’re far ahead of us.”
Lucius chuckled softly as she looked at her. “You’re quite perceptive, but I like that.”
He turned around and sat directly in front of Sevrina. He smirked as he looked at her reaction.
Lucius then began. “Firstly, I want to let you know that your base has been destroyed.”
Sevrina and Casey froze in disbelief. “What! That’s impossible! Our base was hidden—no one could’ve found it!”
Casey leaned forward and glared at Lucius. “He’s lying. There’s just no way that…”
Lucius only smiled as he observed their reactions. “You could say that somehow the Empire somehow obtained the information they needed.”
Sevrina glared at Lucius and studied his expression. She then realized it. “It was you… Damn you! It was because of you that our base was destroyed!”
Lucius raised his hand and coughed a bit. “Relax. Your leader escaped, didn’t he? I’m sure some of your group managed to flee with him as well.”
Sevrina clenched her fists as she tried to process the revelation. “Of course our leader escaped. He’s strong—stronger than you’ll ever know.”
Lucius nodded slowly as he leaned back slightly. “Yeah, I know exactly how strong he is. But that’s not the point of this conversation.”
Sevrina glared back at Lucius, as she was suspicious of Lucius. “Then what’s the point? What do you really want from me?”
Lucius smirked as he began to lean forward. “Now we’re getting to the heart of it. Let me tell you exactly what I want.”

Lucius then put the black talent stone on the floor in front of Sevrina before speaking. “I’m sure that you know other bases. I want you to bring me to your other base and meet your leader.”
Sevrina was surprised the moment she heard it. “What the hell did you just say?”
Lucius chuckled, tilting his head as he repeated it. “I want you to bring me to your leader. Is that so shocking that I need to say it again?”
Sevrina clenched her fist as she glared at him. “Damn you! Why do you think I would ever take you to another base or to our leader?”
Lucius only smirked as he gestured toward the Black Talent Stone once again. “Because of this. The way to get Emperor-Level Talent.”
Sevrina glanced at the stone before turning to Lucius. “How the hell am I supposed to believe when you’re the reason the Empire attacked our base in the first place!”
Lucius raised his hand to calm her down. “Relax. This time, the situation is different. The empire hates us just as much as they hate you right now.”
Sevrina frowned, as she didn’t understand what he meant. “What do you mean by that?”
Lucius gestured toward Ragnar at the back. “The Empire believes Ragnar is dead, as they think he was buried in the destruction of your base. But as you can see, he’s very much alive.”
Sevrina glanced at Ragnar as she processed Lucius’s words. “So, what does it mean for you?”
Lucius leaned back slightly. “It means that the Empire sees this as their best chance to erase one of the most powerful families in the Empire—the Volcaria family.”
Sevrina frowned as she studied his expression. “Erase you? Why would they do that? You’re part of the Empire.”
Lucius chuckled and shook his head. “You misunderstand. Volcaria has never been friendly with the Empire. Our relationship has always been… tense, at best. They don’t like us.”
Casey, who had remained silent until now, frowned as she leaned forward. “Why wouldn’t they like you?”
Lucius tilted his head and shrugged. “Because Volcaria is a family of brutes. That’s what they think of us. Unruly, destructive, and unwilling to play by their rules. Just look at Ragnar.”
He gestured toward Ragnar again and smirked. “One of the strongest 7-Star tamers in the Empire. A force to be reckoned with. But to the Empire? He’s just brute. And they don’t like brutes.”
Sevrina frowned as she understood it. “So, you’re saying the Empire wants to get rid of you?”
Lucius nodded. “Exactly. And with the current situation, they see an opportunity to strike. They think Ragnar is dead, and they think Volcaria is vulnerable.”
He leaned forward and locked his gaze onto Sevrina’s. “That’s why I’m here. We have a common enemy. The Empire hates us just as much as they hate you.”
Lucius then extended his hand toward her. “So, what do you say? Shall we work together?”
