Chapter 209: The King’s Secret Exposed!
Astorius’ eyes narrowed as he watched the chaos. The revelation left him momentarily stunned.
“To think that Karion’s sons, who had been suspected to be killed by the Red Dragon Order, were actually killed by Lucius?”
He clenched his fists tightly before shifting his gaze briefly to Karion, who was trembling with rage.
“This isn’t ideal… but perhaps it’s better this way. With this revelation, Karion has even more reason to commit fully to this war. His anger will fuel the Empire’s cause.”
Meanwhile, Ragnar chuckled, leaning back slightly as he crossed his arms. He was really surprised at what Lucius had just revealed.
“Lucius, to think that you’re more daring than I gave you credit for. “Not only did you admit to killing Karion’s sons.”
“But you mocked him to his face and even brought out their arms as trophies? That’s not just bravery—that’s audacity on another level.”
Ragnar turned his gaze briefly to Karion, whose aura surged uncontrollably. “But you might’ve pushed him too far this time, Lucius.”
Karion immediately roared as he pointed his finger at Lucius in anger. “Curse you, Lucius! I’m going to rip you apart with my bare hands!”
Before Karion could make a move, Astorius stopped him. “Control yourself, Karion. Your anger will be far more useful when it’s directed at the Volcaria family as a whole, not just this boy.”
Karion gritted his teeth as he stopped. But he growled as he gestured toward Lucius. “Fine, but when we fight later, he’s mine.”
Lucius chuckled and smirked as he met Karion’s furious glare. “I’d like to see you try.”
Lucius then turned his gaze toward Astorius as he began to mock him. “Now, Bastard Astorius. I’m going to ask you one last time. Are you really prepared to face Volcaria in a war?”
Astorius frowned as he couldn’t believe how daring Lucius was. “How dare you mock me and call me by my name again?”
Lucius only smirked as he replied, “Let me tell you something, Astorius. Even with Karion and the large armies behind you, you stand no chance.”
Astorius growled low in his throat as he stepped forward. “What do you know? This is the best army the Empire can muster. Did you really think we would lose?”
Lucius chuckled as he locked eyes with the king. “Of course it is. Even your Emperor-level talent won’t help you win this war.”
Astorius froze as he was shocked after hearing what Lucius said. “What? How do you…? How do you know about that? That’s a secret known to no one.”
Lucius only smirked as he deliberately stepped forward. “You’re not as good at keeping secrets as you think and trust me, Astorius, I know far more than you realize.”
The moment Lucius revealed that Astorius possessed an Emperor-level talent, the people there were all shocked.
Anselm, standing near the king, maintained his composure. As the Minister of the Empire, he already knew the secret, though he had sworn to keep it hidden.
Karion, on the other hand, froze in place. He was still in disbelief. “Emperor-level talent? That’s… impossible. That’s just a myth!”
Astorius clenched his fists as he locked onto Lucius. “How dare you to reveal my secret!”
Ragnar and Savra, standing beside Lucius, exchanged brief glances before shrugging. “To think that you have an Emperor-level talent, too?”
Astorius’s anger faltered for a moment as something in their tone caught his attention.
The king turned to them as he confirmed it. “Wait a minute. What do you mean, ‘too’? Are you telling me… that you also have Emperor-level talents?”
Ragnar chuckled as he crossed his arms. “That’s right. Both Savra and I possess Emperor-level talents.”
Astorius was so shocked that he stumbled back a step. “How is that possible?! Emperor-level talent is supposed to be unique—there can only be one or none in an empire!”
Ragnar smirked as he shrugged nonchalantly. “It seems that’s not entirely true.”

Savra tilted her head slightly and added, “Or maybe the Empire isn’t the only ’empire’ anymore.”
Karion was in a state of shock once again as he trembled, muttering, “Ragnar… Emperor-level talent? That’s… impossible.”
Ragnar smirked faintly with satisfaction. “Believe it, Karion. I guess myths do come true sometimes.”
Karion clenched his fists as he struggled to process the revelation. The weight of Ragnar’s words pressed heavily on him, leaving him speechless.
Lucius, meanwhile, stepped forward with a smirk as he addressed Astorius directly. “So, do you still think you can win this war?”
Astorius’ aura surged as his gaze locked onto Lucius. “Don’t think for a moment that you’ve won!”
“Although it never crossed my mind that Ragnar and Savra had Emperor-level talents, it doesn’t matter. My armies are still here.”
He gestured to the armies behind him. “They are the elite forces of the Empire and they outnumber yours five to one. Don’t think for a second that you can defeat us.”
Lucius chuckled as he crossed his arms. “Is that so? Do you really think your numbers will save you?”
Astoriys frowned deeply as a flicker of unease crossed his face. “What do you mean?”
Lucius smirked as he stepped forward slightly. “Did you really think that Volcaria’s armies are the only ones standing against you?”
Astorius frowned as he stared at Lucius. He really didn’t know what Lucius was planning.
But still, his statement sent some unease through the Empire’s armies.
Astorius then growled as he glared at Lucius. “What are you saying? Speak clearly.”
Lucius chuckled again as he smirked. “Oh, you’ll find out soon enough, but let’s just say… you’re not the only one with allies.”
Astorius frowed deeply as he tried to read his face. He didn’t know if Lucius was lying or not.
Lucius also glanced at the watch strapped to his arm. He smirked as he noted the time. “It seems… they’ll be here sooner than expected.”
The Empire’s soldiers shifted restlessly, their confidence beginning to waver in the face of Lucius’s calm composure.
The stage was set, and the pieces were moving. Whatever Lucius was planning, the answer would reveal itself soon.
