Chapter 217: From Predator to Prey
The Sky General frowned as he was so shocked. He had fought countless battles, but never had he seen someone this reckless.
To think that this lunatic beastman turned herself into an arrow? That was insanity, but it worked.
His wind barriers had been cracked a bit, and for the first time in years, he had been forced to retreat.
His pride had been shattered, but he wasn’t a fool. He gritted his teeth and unleashed all of his energy.
He layered barrier upon barrier, forming countless layers of wind shields around him.
He smirked as he glanced at the incoming Luna. “Try and break through this, you bastard!”
But Luna only smirked because it was already over as the terrains changed. The night had come and it was the time when Luna was at her strongest.
The night appeared and shadows were spread across the land, swallowing everything in darkness.
Before the Sky General could blink, Luna had vanished mid-air, slipping into the darkness like a ghost, avoiding all the barriers.
The Sky General was so shocked when he saw that. “What the hell?! How can you do this?!”
He looked around frantically as he hovered above the battlefield. He flared his aura and sent numerous wind blades around in an attempt to expose her.
He also roared as he twisted his head left and right. “Just where the hell are you? You damn coward!”
But suddenly a whisper appeared behind him.
“Right here, dummy.”
His instincts screamed, but he was too slow.
Luna emerged from the shadow behind him and used her claws to grip his wings in an instant.
The Sky General froze as he had made the same mistake as Karion.
Luna’s smirk widened. “Let me give you the same relaxation therapy as Karion, old man.”
She pressed her feet into his back and pulled.
The Sky General’s face twisted in pain, but before he could react, Luna used even more strength than before.
She wasn’t holding back. She also didn’t care about a third round anymore.
She didn’t care if this was too brutal like before. She just wanted him gone and would do everything.
She immediately tore his wings apart in a single, violent motion, echoing a sickening sound across the battlefield.
The Sky General didn’t even have time to scream as he fell to the ground, unable to process what had just happened.
His wings that were his pride were ripped from his body in an instant. He couldn’t help but resent Luna even more than before.
Luna was also falling too, as she had used too much of her energy to rip his wings.
The Sky General frowned in hatred and tightened his claw around his sword. His muscles screamed in pain, but he didn’t care anymore.
He glanced at Luna and pulled every last ounce of strength left in his body. “You wretched little beast… I’ll make you regret ripping my wings.”
His blade crackled with tempest energy as he channeled all of his remaining power into it.

He only had one last chance to cut her down. One last strike to end it all. He watched her body fall. He was waiting for the perfect moment.
The moment she got close enough, he would slice her in half.
She was getting closer.
His breath steadied.
Closer.
His grip tightened.
NOW!
He swung his sword forward as he was trying to cut Luna in half, but something unexpected happened.
Luna’s eyes opened and she smirked.
The Sky General’s heart skipped a beat. “What—?!”
Before his sword could connect, Luna’s entire body vanished into the shadows.
She had entered the Shadow Realm mid-air and the Sky General’s blade sliced through nothing.
The Sky General realized it too late and roared. “Damn you!”
Just after that, unlike before, she immediately reappeared behind him, leaving him no time to react.
Luna coated her claw with a final burst of shadow energy and aimed it at his neck. “Shadow Claw.”
With one swift motion, her claw tore through his throat.
The Sky General’s head separated from his body before he even understood what had happened.
His lifeless, beheaded body fell down, crashing to the ground.
Luna also landed just moments after, her legs barely holding her up, but she still had a victorious smirk on her face as she stared at the fallen general.
She also chuckled and mocked the dead sky general for one last time. “Sky General? You were just an old, sky-breathing bastard.”
Then, her body finally gave out as Luna collapsed onto the battlefield, unconscious.
Lucius only smirked as she glanced at Luna. He then raised his hand and summoned a portal that absorbed her body back into beast space.
He smiled as he murmured. “You’ve done enough, so just rest, Luna. I’ll take it from here.”

Astorius was so shocked after seeing the fight. With the Sky General’s defeat, he had lost two matches in this competition.
The empire forces were also stunned as they processed what had just happened. They now exchanged uncertain glances.
On the other side of the battlefield, Bryson and Ragnar were no different. They stared at Lucius, eyes wide, jaws clenched.
Bryson muttered as he was barely able to let his voice out. “How the hell… how the hell is this possible?”
Ragnar was also the same as he pointed his finger at Lucius in disbelief. “He’s a 6-Star Tamer and not a 7-Star Tamer, right? He should be at the same level as us or below, right?”
Bryson nodded as he swallowed hard. “That’s what we thought, but he just took down two 7-Star Tamers… without even fighting them himself.”
For a moment, both of them frowned as they realized that Lucius had become way stronger than them.
Then, suddenly—Ragnar burst into laughter. Bryson also followed suit as a wide grin appeared on his face.
Ragnar wiped a hand across his face and continued to laugh. “What the hell were we worrying about? He’s on our side!”
Bryson clapped his comrade on the shoulder, still laughing. “Exactly! It doesn’t matter how ridiculously strong he is—Lucius is fighting for us!”
The two tamers exchanged grins. Lucius’ victory was their victory. It didn’t matter if he had surpassed them.
With a victorious smirk, Ragnar turned back to the battlefield. “This battle’s already over. The empire just doesn’t know it yet.”
Bryson crossed his arms, nodding. “Their strongest warriors are dead or unconscious. Their morale is shattered. What can they possibly do now?”
Meanwhile, the one who was being talked about, Lucius, was still sitting on his sofa while drinking his tea, unbothered by any words.
