Chapter 239: They Called Her the Perfect Worker… But Now, They Don’t Even Recognize Her!
Lucius continued eating, enjoying every crispy bite of the fried Pluckins and suddenly something caught his attention.

[Hack Points Increased: +1]
[Hack Points Increased: +2]

He already knew that eating would also give him hack points. It wasn’t much, but it was still something.
He smirked slightly but didn’t dwell on it. Right now, his goal was just to eat. Not farm points.
Just as he reached for another piece, he realized that a group was approaching them and Loreia also noticed them.
Loreia frowned the moment she recognized who they were.
They were her manager… and some former work “friends” whose names she didn’t even bother remembering.
The manager stepped forward, forcing a polite smile. “Good to see you here, Loreia.”
Loreia sighed dramatically, leaning back in her chair. She didn’t even let him finish. “Manager, I already know why you’re here. I’m not rejoining.”
The manager frowned, clearly not expecting her bluntness. “Loreia, don’t be so hasty. At least listen to what I have to say.”
Loreia rolled her eyes. “There’s nothing to listen to. I quit. I’m done. I’m not going back.”
The manager inhaled deeply, clearly trying to remain calm. “Is this because of Deon and Galwin? If it is, I assure you, they will face harsh punishment for what they did.”
The moment Loreia heard those names, she burst into laughter. Not a giggle. Not a chuckle. A full-blown, uncontrollable laugh.
The manager and his staff members exchanged nervous glances. “Them? Punishment?”
Loreia wiped a fake tear from her eye, still laughing. “Oh, that’s rich. You’re funny, manager. I should’ve appreciated your humor while I was working.”
Her laughter abruptly stopped, replaced by a cold smirk. “You think ‘punishment’ matters to me? Even if you fired them, locked them up, or ruined their lives, I still wouldn’t care. I’ve already handled it.”
The manager’s expression stiffened. “Handled it? What do you mean?”
Loreia leaned forward slightly and smirked. “Let’s just say… those two won’t be bothering me anymore.”
A brief chill ran through the manager’s spine. Something about the way she said it… was unsettling.
But he ignored it and continued to beg her. “Loreia, please, think this through. You were one of our best employees. You had a future here. The higher-ups liked you. You could have moved up in the company—”
Loreia clicked her tongue. “Yeah, and you know what? I don’t care.”
The manager sighed heavily. “If it’s about money, we can talk about a raise. If you want time off, I can arrange something. But quitting like this is rash, and you’re throwing away everything you worked for.”
Loreia grinned. “Oh, no, Manager. You don’t understand.”
She leaned back in her chair, stretching her arms. “I didn’t throw anything away. I just realized I never needed any of it in the first place.”
The manager’s frown deepened and Lucius, who had been listening silently, finally finished his food.
He set his drink down and stood up, glaring at the manager before turning back to Loreia. “Sis, let’s go.”
He smirked as he mocked them a bit. “It’s rude to disturb someone while they’re eating.”

Loreia grinned, standing up. “Agreed. Let’s go, little brother.”
She turned back to the manager and smirked. “Better luck finding a new star employee.”
Without another glance at them, Loreia and Lucius walked out of the restaurant, leaving them standing there.
The staff members froze the moment they stared at the restaurant entrance where Loreia had just walked out.
None of them could believe what they had just witnessed. This was not the Loreia they knew.
The Loreia they remembered was kind, polite, and professional.
The kind of worker who always had a warm smile, who never raised her voice, and who always handled things with grace.
But now? She looked like a delinquent. A thug. A completely different person.
One of the staff members swallowed nervously. “Did she just tell the manager off? I—I’ve never seen her like that before.”
Another one nodded. “She didn’t even hesitate. She just walked away like she didn’t give a damn about her job.”
A third staff member whispered, “She even called Deon and Galwin useless. And that look in her eyes… I don’t know why, but it scared me.”
The first staff member scratched his head. “What the hell happened to her? She was always the perfect girl. Now she’s like some yankee or street thug.”
The manager let out a long, exhausted sigh, rubbing his temples. “Forget about it. That’s not the same Loreia we knew.”
One of the staff members hesitated. “So… what do we do, Manager?”
The manager leaned back in his chair, closing his eyes for a moment.
Opening his eyes, he spoke with a defeated tone. “Let’s just hope the higher-ups don’t make us take the blame for this.”
Silence fell over the room as everyone knew that the higher-ups wouldn’t care about their excuses.
And if things went bad? They would be the ones who suffered for it.

Liora and Luna finally arrived at the gates of the A-Rank Beast Zone.
Luna stretched, rolling her shoulders. “Finally, we made it. To think it was this close all along.”
Liora sighed, shaking her head. “Thankfully, we asked someone for directions. Otherwise, we’d still be wandering around like idiots.”
Luna grinned, nudging her. “Hey, hey! At least we got here in the end. That’s all that matters.”
Liora crossed her arms as she glanced at the entrance. There was a massive iron gate, guarded by heavily armed patrols.
Liora glanced at them and frowned. “Looks like there are guards.”
Luna snickered, flipping her hair. “And? You’re acting like that’s a problem.”
Liora raised an eyebrow. “It is. Do you want to fight them all just to enter? It would be an unnecessary hassle.”
Luna grinned. “You’re forgetting something, Liora. Don’t you know Loxen’s element?”
Liora paused, then smirked slightly. “Ah. Right.”
Luna patted Loxen’s side. “Alright, you know what to do.”
Loxen let out a low growl before melding into the shadows, his form dissolving into pure darkness.
Luna and Liora were on Loxen. They passed right through the gate’s shadow, unseen by the guards.
The patrols remained clueless, standing there without realizing two deadly intruders had just passed them.
As they emerged inside the A-Rank Beast Zone, Luna smirked. “See? That was too easy.”
Liora nodded, scanning the area. “Now, let’s get to work. Time to hunt.”
Luna grinned. “Time to have some fun.”
And with that, they disappeared deeper into the zone.
