Chapter 240: A-Rank Beast Zone? Luna and Liora Are Just Getting Started!
Luna and Liora stepped deeper into the A-Rank Beast Zone, scanning around the place.
Unlike the dense forests they had fought in before, this place was barren and dry, resembling a scorched wasteland.
Liora studied the terrain carefully, frowning. “This place is different from what I expected. There’s barely any cover.”
Luna tilted her head. “It looks like a battlefield that’s already been burned down.”
She smirked, kicking a loose rock forward. “Not bad. That means we don’t have to deal with obstacles getting in the way.”
Liora gave her a sideways glance. “You say that now, but if something stronger than us shows up, we have nowhere to hide.”
Luna grinned. “That’s fine. I like straightforward fights. Sneaking around gets boring.”
Liora sighed. “You just hate using strategy.”
Luna shrugged. “Not true. My strategy is simple. Hit them until they stop moving.”
Liora shook her head. “One day, that reckless attitude will get you in trouble.”
Luna chuckled. “Then I’ll deal with it when it happens.”
As they ventured deeper, a low growl alerted them. They immediately stopped and looked at what it was.
From the distance, a pack of beasts emerged, which consisted of red wolves.
Their fur was a deep red, their tails and claws burning with fire, leaving behind embers and smoke wherever they stepped.
They locked their gaze onto Luna and Liora, recognizing them as intruders.
Luna grinned, rolling her shoulders. “Looks like we’ve found our first targets.”
Liora got off Loxen and glared at the red wolevs. “They found us first. Be ready.”
Luna laughed, getting off Loxen without hesitation. “Ready? I was born ready.”
One of the wolves snarled, flames bursting from its fangs as it crouched, preparing to strike.
Luna only grinned wider. “Oh? You want to go first? Be my guest.”
Liora sighed, stepping beside her. “Can you at least try not to play with them too much?”
Luna smirked. “Where’s the fun in that?”
The wolves let out a collective snarl, fire rising around them.
The battle was about to begin.
—
Luna smirked, cracking her knuckles as she eyed the pack of Red Wolves in front of them. “Loxen, show them who’s the boss.”
Loxen let out a growl as he suddenly melded back into the shadows.
The Red Wolves paused, their ears twitching, sensing something unnatural.
But instead of focusing on Loxen, they locked their gaze on Luna. They saw her as the weaker opponent. The easy target.
Luna noticed their decision immediately and scoffed. “Oh? You think I’m weak? You’re really going to regret that.”

One of the wolves snarled, flames surging from its claws as it lunged forward.
Two others followed, closing in from her left and right.
Luna only smirked as she stood alone, not caring what the red wolves did.
Just as the first wolf’s claws nearly reached her face—
Black tendrils of shadow suddenly erupted from the ground.
Loxen’s ability had been activated. His shadow clones burst forth from the wolves’ own shadows.
The Red Wolves barely had time to react before Loxen’s shadow clones struck.
One panther clone tackled the first wolf mid-air, pinning it down before tearing out its throat.
Another shadow emerged behind the second wolf, slashing through its ribcage before disappearing into the shadow again.
The third clone leaped over Luna’s shoulder, landing onto the last wolf and ripping its head apart.
The wolves’ bodies hit the ground lifelessly, blood staining the scorched dirt beneath them.
Luna only grinned, placing a hand on her hip. “Too easy. This is the price for underestimating me.”
Liora, standing beside her, sighed. “Can you at least leave some for me?”
Luna laughed, patting her on the shoulder. “Alright, alright. Have at it.”
Liora stepped forward, summoning her beast. She raised her hand and soon her beast portal appeared.
From it, a massive silver lion came out and stood in front of them.
His eyes burned brighter than the wolves’ flames, his presence alone making the air heavier.
The remaining Red Wolves froze. Their ears flattened. Their tails lowered. Their bodies trembled.
Luna whistled. “Look at them. They’re already scared stiff.”
Liora smirked. “Leon doesn’t need to attack. His presence alone is enough to make lesser beasts surrender.”
The wolves, though terrified, tried to resist. One of them snarled, forcing itself to move but the moment it did, its legs buckled beneath it.
Leon’s aura didn’t just intimidate weaker beasts. It drained their strength.
And then, the flames along their bodies started to die down.
Luna grinned. “Oh? His flames are suppressing theirs? Nice.”
Liora nodded. “Leon’s Silver Flames are superior to theirs. They can’t overpower him.”
Leon let out a deep, thunderous roar before opening his massive jaws. Silver flames began to gather at his throat.
Leon then unleash a burst of silver flame toward the group of the red wolves, engulfing them completely.
They didn’t even have time to scream. Their bodies disintegrated into nothing but ash, leaving behind only their beast cores.
Luna smirked, watching the display. “As strong as ever, huh?”
Liora patted Leon’s side, nodding. “He never disappoints.”
With the battlefield silent, only the remains of their fallen enemies left behind, the two turned to each other.
Luna stretched, letting out a satisfied sigh. “Alright, that was a decent warm-up. Let’s keep going.”
Liora nodded. “Agreed. We still need to gather more beast cores.”
Luna grinned, rolling her shoulders. “And maybe find something that actually puts up a fight.”
Liora sighed, shaking her head. “Before that, let’s pick up their beast cores.”
Luna waved her hand dismissively. “Yeah, yeah. Fine. Loxen, pick them up and store them in the Shadow Realm.”
Loxen nodded silently. He walked over to the ashes of the red wolves and took their beast cores, putting them in his shadow.
Luna crossed her arms, watching. “You know, sometimes I think I should just let Loxen do all the work. It makes things so much easier.”
Liora rolled her eyes. “Or maybe you could actually do some work yourself.”
Luna laughed. “Why would I, when I have the best shadow panther doing it for me?”
Loxen let out a low growl, side-eyeing Luna.
Luna grinned. “Oh, don’t look at me like that. You’re enjoying yourself, aren’t you?”
Liora ignored the banter, checking the area for any remaining threats. “How many beast cores so far?”
Loxen finished collecting the last one, then let out a short growl.
Luna translated easily. “Seven in total. Not bad. But we need more.”
Liora nodded. “Then let’s move deeper. The stronger beasts won’t be lurking at the edges.”
Luna grinned. “Now we’re talking. Let’s find something that actually makes this interesting.”
With their spoils secured, the two headed deeper into the A-Rank Beast Zone, ready for whatever came next.
