Chapter 286: Hacking the Ultimate Hunter
Lucius studied the Vorafang. The beast was powerful, but hacking it to perfection would be far too costly.
He sighed. “Too expensive to modify this one completely… so let’s just use it for what it’s worth.”
He turned to Liora. “We’ll keep this one as the opening sale beast since it’s already SS-Rank. It’ll attract the right kind of attention.”
Liora grinned, nodding. “Sounds good. An SS-Rank beast for the first sale will make a huge impact.”
Lucius chuckled. “But… I still like its overall look. Let’s make a modified version.”
He then accessed his system.
“System, clone this beast, but adjust the stats to be all S-Rank—I want it to be more stable rather than extreme in certain areas.”
A slight pause, then Lucius grinned wider.
“Oh, and let’s tweak its personality. Make it multitasker. I want it to have the mindset of a war beast, a hunting beast, and a guardian beast.”
He chuckled. “A versatile predator… I like it. For the abilities, remove them all for now. I’ll decide on those later.”

As the hack began, a fur fell from Vorafang, growing into a new wolf.
Within moments, the new wolf, Luperion, stood tall. It was quite similar to Vorafang, with a bit of a difference.
It seemed more balanced in strength, and also instead of black and red, Luperion had silver and red fur.
Lucius grinned in satisfaction. “Good. Now… what kind of abilities should I give you, huh?”
Before he could decide, Liora stepped forward. “Master, can I give a few ideas for its abilities?”
Lucius raised his eyebrow. He was interested. “Sure, Liora. Give me your wildest ideas.”

Liora smirked, thinking for a moment before speaking.
“Master, you said this beast is multitasker and balanced, right? And since it’s a wolf, it usually operates in packs. Why not give it an ability that makes it stronger when more of its kind are present?”
Lucius rubbed his chin, considering the idea. “Hmm… A synergy-based skill… That’s actually a damn good ability.”
Liora nodded quickly. “And there doesn’t need to be an Alpha among them—they should naturally see you as their Alpha.”
Lucius’s smirk widened. “Oh? So it’s more like a military wolf unit rather than a pack led by one dominant leader?”
Liora grinned. “Exactly, Master. With this, their combat efficiency will increase, and they’ll function more like elite soldiers rather than wild beasts.”
Lucius chuckled, nodding. “I like that. Alright, what’s the second ability?”
Liora crossed her arms, her expression turning slightly more serious. “This one’s about ensuring they finish their job.”
Lucius tilted his head slightly. “Oh?”
Liora continued. “What if they could mark an enemy when fighting, weakening them over time and making sure Luperion always knows where they are?”
Lucius’ eyes gleamed. “Like a hunting mark that ensures there’s no escape?”
Liora nodded. “Yes, Master. That way, once Luperion chooses its prey, it never loses track.”
Lucius’s grin widened. “Not bad. System, add these abilities to Luperion.”

Luperion’s body trembled as the new hack was being given to its body.
Lucius watched with satisfaction, then smirked. “It’s quite good, but still, it’s missing something.”
He then turned his head, his eyes locking onto the pile of Luxorite ore nearby.
A thought soon formed and his smirk widened.
“Luperion has already become a military wolf. Why not take it even further?”
Liora, standing beside him, raised her eyebrow. “Master, what are you thinking now?”
Lucius grinned. “Weapons.”
Liora blinked, then grinned back. “Oh… I like where this is going.”
Lucius chuckled. “System—evolve Luperion by fusing it with Luxorite.”

Luperion’s body trembled again as the Luxorite ore lifted from the ground, fusing with Luperion’s body.
Liora whistled, watching the transformation. “Now that’s impressive.”
Lucius smirked, crossing his arms. “It’s not just impressive.”
The Luxorite melded into Luperion’s flesh, creating an armored wolf with a sleek appearance.
Its entire body gleamed with Luxorite plating, its claws reinforced with razor-sharp metallic edges.
Spikes ran along its back, capable of morphing into weapons or shields at will.
Luperion let out a powerful howl, the ground trembling beneath it.
Lucius grinned. “Now… this is the perfect military wolf.”
Liora grinned as well, rolling her shoulders. “Master, you really don’t hold back, do you?”
Lucius chuckled. “Why would I? If we’re doing this, we’re doing it right.”
But then Liora sighed, turning toward Lucius. “But still, Master, isn’t this wolf too rare and strong to sell?”
Lucius raised his eyebrow. “What do you mean?”
Liora gestured at Luperion. “Think about it. You just used Luxorite, our secret, nearly indestructible ore, to create a one-of-a-kind war beast. If we sell it, people might start asking too many questions about where this kind of beast came from.”
Lucius paused, realization dawning on him.
“…Damn it.”
Liora smirked, shaking her head. “You got too excited again, Master.”
Lucius only chuckled, exhaling sharply. “I really did, huh? I just kept pushing, and now it’s too valuable to sell.”
He then sighed, rubbing his temples. “Alright… new plan.”
Luperion wasn’t going anywhere.
It was too dangerous to release something like this into the hands of potential enemies or competitors.
And now he had to figure out what to do with it.
