Chapter 310: Not Everyone is Welcome?
Liora leaned back, smirking.
“The weakness that I know is simple…”
She paused for a moment.
She wanted to make sure that everyone was listening to her words.
Then—
“Titanhoof is the king of warhorses and you, Lord Varen, claimed the same.”
The crowd nodded.
Liora’s eyes gleamed.
“But have you considered what happens to the buyer?”
Murmurs began to spread through the hall.
Liora continued sharply.
“Being the king of warhorses means it will only recognize a rider worthy of it.”
She crossed her arms.
“So what does that mean for the buyer? After purchasing it, they will still have to earn its respect and recognition before they can even ride it.”
She paused, letting the audience think for a moment.
“And if they fail to do so? Then what? It refuses to be tamed? It rejects its owner? What do you say about this, Lord Varen?”
The crowd murmured again, some of them seemed to be uncertain about the purchase.
“She has a point. If the beast doesn’t accept its master, it’s basically useless.”
“I never thought about that.”
Varen’s frown deepened, but he quickly recovered.
“Of course, I already knew that.”
He remained confident, but there was a slight worriness in his tone.
He spread his hands casually, addressing the entire audience.
“But as usual, that responsibility falls on the buyer.”
He laughed before continuing.
“Every pet shop is like that. Even Luxoria Castle does the same, don’t they?”
He then turned his gaze toward Sylvia Aurelius.
“Miss Sylvia, I heard that you won a SS rank beast in Luxoria Castle’s auction.”
The audience curiously turned to her.
“Tell me, when you received the beast, did Luxoria Castle just outright give it to you? Or did they assist you in forming a contract with it?”

Sylvia narrowed her eyes slightly.
She thought for a moment before answering.
“No, they didn’t.”
The audience whispered among themselves.
Varen smirked.
“See? Even Luxoria Castle follows the same standard. The responsibility of taming falls to the buyer.”
Sylvia, however, wasn’t finished.
She tilted her head slightly, adding—
“But… we also didn’t ask. Maybe next time, we will.”
The audience murmured again.
Varen, however, quickly latched onto her words, smirking wider.
“That answer is good enough.”
His eyes returned to the VIP suite where Liora was.
“Now then, Miss VIP and everyone else in attendance. Tell me.”
He spread his hands wide.
“Is that really a weakness?”
The crowd remained silent, waiting for the VIP’s response.
Inside the VIP suite, Luna grinned, nudging Lucius.
“He thinks he won that argument.”
Lucius chuckled.
“Let’s see what Liora does next.”
Liora, still calmly seated, let out a small laugh.
“Heh… You really think that’s a good enough answer, Lord Varen?”
Her eyes glowed mischievously as she prepared to fire back.
The debate was far from over.
—
Liora smirked as she fired back her argument.
“I see… So that’s your answer, huh?”
She laughed as she was quite amused.
“But if that’s the case, doesn’t that mean not everyone here was truly welcome at this auction?”
The crowd shifted, some nobles exchanging some uneasy glances.
Varen’s smirk faltered slightly.
“What are you implying?”
Liora tilted her head, smirking.
“On your website, you were the one who proudly stated that you prepared this grand place for ‘all serious bidders,’ didn’t you?”
She paused a bit before continuing.
“But now, after what you just said… It sounds more like you only prepared this auction for buyers who are already powerful enough to control their beasts.”
Her smirk widened as she continued.
“So what about everyone else? The tamers who traveled here, spending time and effort just to see an SS-Rank beast, only to realize they could never control it?”
The crowd murmured in agreement.
“She’s right…”
“Not all bidders here are top-tier tamers…”
Varen’s expression darkened slightly.
But before he could respond, Liora continued her attack.
“Luxoria Castle, on the other hand, is different.”
The room went quiet again.
“They knew their beasts were strong. So, they specifically stated that only strong tamers could come to their auction.”
Sylvia, still listening, nodded slightly, realizing the difference in approach.
“And about the contract issue? Miss Sylvia herself never said Luxoria Castle didn’t offer such a service, did she?”
Sylvia raised her eyebrow, then smirked slightly.
“That’s true. I never said they don’t offer it.”
Liora chuckled.
“It’s just that we never asked.”
She let her words hang in the air.
“What do you think about that, Lord Varen?”
The crowd stirred again, more nobles muttering among themselves.
“She’s making a damn good point.”
“Luxoria Castle actually filters their buyers. Beast Castle just lets anyone in.”
“And now they’re backtracking their own words…”
Varen’s jaw clenched slightly.
He had never anticipated an argument like this.
The one that challenged not just the beast’s value but the entire credibility of their business model.
But he wasn’t about to lose face.
He exhaled, calming himself down, before addressing the audience again.
“Miss VIP, I understand your concerns. But you must remember—”
He gestured toward Titanhoof.
“We are merely a pet shop. Our job is to sell beasts, not train them.”
He let the words settle in the room, before continuing.
“And let’s not forget. A SS-Rank beast like this is truly a rare existence.”
He turned his gaze across the audience.
“Not everyone can have the privilege of owning such a creature. That is why, aside from money, they must prove themselves.”
Some of the nobles nodded slightly, agreeing with the logic behind it.
But just as things seemed to settle down, another voice suddenly cut through the tension.
From another VIP room, a deep, composed voice joined the debate.
“I would like to end this stupid argument.”
The crowd turned to the new VIP room.
They were figuring out who the new speaker was.
“Who is that? Another VIP?”
“Seems like someone important…”
The voice continued.
“I am interested in purchasing this beast.”
A pause.
Then—
“And I must admit, what Lord Varen said holds some truth.”
Varen’s smirk deepened, sensing an unexpected ally.
Inside the VIP suite, Liora’s smirk didn’t fade.
She leaned back slightly, exchanging glances with Luna and Loreia.
“Well, well… someone’s trying to steer the conversation away.”
Luna chuckled. “Trying to shift the focus back to the sale, huh?”
