Chapter 311: A Hollow Auction
Liora turned to Lucius.
“Master, do I need to continue?”
Lucius shook his head, smirking slightly.
“No, no. Just end it here.”
He leaned back, continuing to watch the situation unfold.
“I never thought so many people would still support Beast Castle’s way of doing things.”
Liora narrowed her eyes. “You thought they would fail because they wouldn’t give their buyers a way to contract the beast, right?”
Lucius nodded.
“Exactly. I thought the bidders would be upset about it. But looking at this scene… it seems the people here are already strong enough that they don’t even care about the contracting process.”
Luna shook her head in confusion.
“But Master, we also don’t help buyers in contracting their beasts, right?”
Lucius smirked. “Of course, we do.”
Luna blinked in surprise. “Huh? But we never offer it.”
Lucius chuckled.
“We never had to… because they never asked.”
He gestured toward the auction stage, where the bidders remained unfazed.
They simply waited for the sale to continue.
“But if a customer wants it? I can help them.”
Luna was a bit surprised before grinning.
“I see… That means this can become another service for us later.”
Lucius nodded approvingly.
“Exactly.”
His grin widened.
“A service that Beast Castle cannot provide.”
Liora crossed her arms, nodding as she finally closed the debate.
“I see. If that’s the case, I’ll end the argument.”
She leaned in slightly.
“Mr. VIP that I don’t know of… I’ll leave the rest to the bidders.”
With that, she disconnected her voice transmission, cutting herself off from the discussion.
The mysterious bidder chuckled, revealing a bit of playfulness.

“I see. If that’s the case… then let me start the bidding.”
A wave of anticipation swept across the auction hall.
Then—
“I am Raiven Valefor, Young Master of the Valefor Family.”
The entire audience gasped in shock.
Murmurs immediately erupted throughout the room.
“The Valefor Family?!”
“They’re one of the strongest warrior clans!”
“Their beasts are always brute-force types. Titanhoof would be perfect for them!”
Raiven only smiled as he started the bid.
“I bid 8 SS-Rank Cores.”
Varen grinned, finally feeling some momentum returning to the auction.
“8 SS-Rank Cores! Do we have any higher bids?”
A brief silence—
Then, another voice rang out.
“10 SS-Rank Cores.”
The crowd turned their heads toward another VIP room.
Sylvia Aurelius had spoken.
Varen’s smirk grew wider, sensing more competition.
“We have 10 SS-Rank Cores! Do we have 12?”
He barely finished his words before Raiven raised the bid himself.
“12 SS-Rank Cores!”
The audience murmured again, excitement rising.
But—
Sylvia simply leaned back in her chair, shaking her head.
“Too much for me. I’ll back down.”
Varen’s smile dimmed slightly, but he quickly hid his frustration.
“Do we have any other bidders?”
Silence.
“One… Two…”
Still, no one dared to speak.
Varen’s smirk started to fade.
“Tch… Damn.”
Inside his mind, calculations ran rapidly.
5 SS-Rank Cores were already spent just to capture the beast.
2 SS-Rank Cores for maintenance and feeding.
2 SS-Rank Cores for the specialized reinforced cage.
1 SS-Rank Core for the cost of setting up this entire event.
That meant the break-even point was at least 15 SS-Rank Cores.
And yet—it stopped at 12.
The rest of the audience frowned, some looking hesitant, others clearly holding back.
Even the wealthy elite didn’t bid further.
They had realized the issue.
Even if they had the money to buy it, they simply didn’t have the power to tame it.
Varen was frowning but he forced himself to maintain his composure.
“Three!”
A loud chime rang throughout the auction hall.
“Sold to Young Master Raiven Valefor.”
Some loud applause soon followed but it can be seen that the enthusiasm was a bit lacking.
Varen let out a sigh. Although the beast was sold, the price was not as he had expected it to be.
—
Luna glanced at the stage, her eyes locked onto Varen’s frustrated expression.
She turned to Lucius, smirking.
“Master, it seems that thanks to Liora, the price of the beast wasn’t as high as Varen expected.”
She chuckled.
“This could be considered… not quite a success.”
Lucius grinned, leaning back slightly.
“Of course. That’s exactly what I planned.”
But then, his eyes flickered with a new thought.
“Still… why don’t we give them one last little gift before we go?”
Luna raised her eyebrow, intrigued.
“A gift?”
Lucius tilted his head slightly, his smirk widening.
“Yes. Something to make them sweat a little more.”
He then turned his phone to Luna, where the Luxoria Castle web page was open.
Luna’s eyes widened before realization hit her.
She immediately turned to Loreia.
“Big sister, it’s time to post it.”
Loreia, who had been watching the entire auction unfold, grinned, tapping on her phone.
“I see. So it’s time, huh?”
Her fingers hovered over the screen, ready to press upload.
But she hesitated.
“If I post this… they’ll immediately know we’re here, Lucius.”
Lucius chuckled.
“Don’t worry. I’ll handle that part.”

The four of them could feel their teleportation ability had been enhanced.
Lucius grinned, lowering his hand.
“With this, we can leave immediately—before anyone realizes we were ever here.”
Loreia smirked. Her fingers were ready to post the announcement.
“Good job, little brother. Now, it’s time for me to do my job.”
She paused, her eyes gleaming mischievously as she scrolled through the draft.
“Let me edit it a bit before it goes live.”
Luna leaned over, grinning.
“Oh? You’re adding something extra?”
Loreia chuckled.
“Of course. I want to give them the best attack they have ever seen.”
She cracked her knuckles.
“Let me craft the best counterattack for them… hehehe.”
Lucius, watching from the side, simply smirked.
“Make it sting, big sister.”
Loreia grinned.
“Oh, don’t worry, little brother. I plan to.”
With a final tap, the edited post was set.
The trap was ready.
Beast Castle would never see it coming.
